I think maybe some one should start a new bullitin board and add the rule that you can't talk about anything but the hunt and then everyone would be happy.
actually, llady, we had one. it was called shoot the breeze with the cooler crew, and was pretty much for the type of socialising that's gone on here aside from hunt-talk. it got a little out of control after 11 september, and was pulled.
Every message board I was on regardless of the topic got ugly for a while after September 11th. It was just kind of a wave that you needed to ride out.
Think they would have any memorial in the hunt for the medallion? maybe hide it in a flag or something, but not as obvious as that, something commemorative?
I think if you look in the past, you'll be hard pressed to find any correlation between the actual hiding places and anything that was going on at the time.

my grandmother's neighbor went out to shovel the sidewalk one day a few years ago. had a heart attack and died on the spot. so it does happen.
