There are times having a cell phone is a wonderful thing. Most of the time we have ours in the off position though. We got it mostly in case of car trouble on the road.

About the towing that goes on - I'd like to know what part of the city all those cars get tagged and towed from. It sure doesn't seem to be in MY neighborhood.
I have called and BEGGED them to come tow an idiot who never moved their car here during a snow emergency. They would park just far enough down so that as the plow pulled around, we'd end up with the mess in front of our place.
They never towed the guy and he never got tagged.
One year we just went out and shoveled all the plow leavings so he was blocked in good.
Thankfully that idiot moved on. Hope he's not in any of your neighborhoods.
terry, it's not only your responsibility to ensure that your street gets properly plowed, its your right . so, if anything like this ever happens in your neighborhood, feel free to hook it up behind your suv or a neighbors and tow it yourself. i wouldn't hesitate to, and given that its a snow emergency, no one else would either. and i'd venture to say that if the owner saw you doing it and called the police they wouldn't do a whole lot about it either. but that's just me.
my other, more brilliant idea is to abandon towing altogether. the plows are powerful enough to push at least a few cars out of the way at a time. just drop 'em off in a completely different location.
