Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
ares
Or maybe Battle Creek again...strapped to a Jesse Bobble head dolls arse...seeing how much the press loves Ventura...
roflmao! you're definitely not outta your league here.
but we do need to go over a few rules here. well, one rule in particular. 1) ares always has a can of diet coke in his hand. well almost always. humor in that sense has been known to cause people to laugh hysterically. this generally causes whatever they're drinking to be expectorated through the nose. this burns. therefore the rule is that nothing that causes me to expectorate my soda through my nose may be posted without giving 10 mintues worth of warning. :)
LOL Rushmore...lets make a point of it....maybe we could dress up like homeless Navy Seal veterans and hang out on the capitol lawn and Hunt for Man while we dig through trash.....and hunt the medallion..
I place the odds at least 3-1 that the PP will do something like that (capitol mall clues ) just to mess with Mr. James Janos this year!! What do you think??
we don't know anything. apparently that's a fairly well-guarded secret within the press. most of us assume that it gets put down during the first decent-sized snowfall after christmas, which means it got laid down last weekend. as for who, we don't know that either.
What a mystery?!?! How would you like to be the one that hid the medallion and then got to watch everyone running around like chickes with their heads cut off trying to find it. I dont know if I would be able to know where it is at...I would probably squeel!
we didn't talk about where-but a good idea if it was hidden before the snow fell. That bock hunt that I was involved in with AW was hidden in a wall! ---- AllisonWonderland
Well, actually, I thought the same thing-he just said it first--that happens a lot in our relationship-we think alike a lot! But it took this long to snow and they may have gotten worried about the depth of the snow-so why not get creative this year!
But seriously, they have to have alternate clues/parks.
Wasn't the puck found early one year so they chose to do it again?
I mean, someone could pick a park and write the clues in a day if needed. But I don't think that is required because they already have many parks and many clues all ready to go.
Boss is gone, so now I can play for a while. Won't have any information as to what park until the 4th or 5th clue. They have us guessing between 2 or 3 parks by next Friday. Will narrow it down by that Sunday and tell us the park on Wednesday, location hidden on the last day of the hunt. That's my take.
Hi everyone!!! This is my first foray into the Cooler this year. Ares, I met you at the firepit last year at Como -- I was St. Pauli Girl at the time, but decided to go with another name this year to avoid confusion.
THX -- When you said there are many parks and many previously-written clues, are you saying that the medallion is not hidden until well into the hunt?
THX -- When you said there are many parks and many previously-written clues, are you saying that the medallion is not hidden until well into the hunt?
No, I'm just saying that in general they most likely have more than one option. I think they pick a park and stick to it but, have a contingency plan in place.
I always like to guess its hiddden in one of the many WRONG places I looked for it the year befor. This lets you know how far off I am each and every year.
My only real prediction is that each of us will make several wrong guesses as to where it is hidden. That is why I think the cooler is such a good area to share guesses as to where it is at, and have smarter people than me discuss it. I don't think hiding guesses or ideas is not helpful because almost all of the time the idea is dead wrong.
I am very sad to have to miss the Kick Off bash this year. It was a tough decision: use tickets to New Orleans, or McGovern's with the Cooler Crew. Tough, I tell you!!!!
Maureen and her brother Steve found the medallion at Cherokee a few years back. The medallion does not have to be hidden prior to the beginning of the hunt. I was told that personally by Ma PP.
Wow, and still a hunter.... I guess finding it once isn't enough. How many times has ut been found by the same person twice? I heard somewhere it's been done 3 times.
Or maybe Battle Creek again...strapped to a Jesse Bobble head dolls arse...seeing how much the press loves Ventura...

Just a thought <weg>
LMAO Sorry ARES....I will give warning next time...lol
you definitely fit in well here, randy!
ROFLOLPMP Randy, I love the idea!!!
I place the odds at least 3-1 that the PP will do something like that (capitol mall clues ) just to mess with Mr. James Janos this year!! What do you think??
Goodafternoon All! Ares--while we will know you by your diet coke --you will all know me by my coffee and baileys!
don't give 'em any ideas randy!
I would love it if they did Randy. I went over to the capitol yesterday to scope it out and it definitely is a possibility.
Be back in a while ya'll I have to act like a teacher for awhile now.
Do we know the time of year or the precise timetable they actually hide the medallion??? WHo actually hides it??
Bye Rush

I had a discussion with my husband last night and he says he thinks it will be not under the snow but up high. Just a thought.

Well ...I am going to go and try to sell something....I will check back in ....thanks for the rousing welcome!!
Randy
we don't know anything.
Speak for yourself! :-)
....he says he thinks it will be not under the snow but up high.
Like in a tree?
what makes him say up high, me2?
well, jt, do you know who hides the puck? didn't think so :)
do you know who hides the puck?
If I did, I wouldn't say I did, now would I?

then as far as i'm concerned you don't know anything either :). and i can get away with using the collective "we".
Well, actually, I thought the same thing-he just said it first--that happens a lot in our relationship-we think alike a lot! But it took this long to snow and they may have gotten worried about the depth of the snow-so why not get creative this year!
I'm sure Ma Press has contingency plans for such things as lack of snow.
They could drop it on the third clue for all we know.
They are professionals after all.
:-)
Jesse doesn't like HUNTERS?
Well shut my mouth! Poop on him! His stupidity is only xceeded by his xtreme good looks!!!
you know?, we talked about that too and we decided that that would actually be unethical of them to do. but how would we know?
Well Hi Green! Arn't those qualities we look for in a real man? whatever!
Oooops, that isn't what we always look for in a man but that is usually what we get! :)
we decided that that would actually be unethical of them to do
Why? The early clues really could refer to many parks.
Oooops, that isn't what we always look for in a man but that is usually what we get! :)
On behalf of men everywhere.......pass the beer nuts.
:-)

consider 'em passed there, normie!
Thanks.......Cliff?

Just my opinion of course.
cliff. sammy. doesn't really matter.

"Diane" bows and says "to all men everywhere.....sssssppppp" (sticking her tounge out). :)
ahh yet another who has been graced with my presence. i remember you.
It will feel like a Cheers reunion on Saturday!
2K2, you know who Maureen is, don't you?
Nope, seen some posts from her, but never met her
Yes, earlier years, it was in a chest. The chest was hidden twice the one year. I want to say in the 1950s.

Yeah right! I still don't believe he exists.
Ares is a myth too yah know- just like a spotter and the abonibal snow man :)
2K2, Maureen and her brother, Steve, found The Med in 1998 at Chair-O-Key.
I always like to guess its hiddden in one of the many WRONG places I looked for it the year befor. This lets you know how far off I am each and every year.

Ah, yes, you are indeed the Ares I remember.

This guy sent me a picture once but, it could be a picture of anyone.
