Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
me2
I love St Paul history, I peak at the winter carnival stuff too and come across you but usually run into Ashes1998 or this guy named bob.
I was looking at the cooler crew site and noticed that the Medallion has only been in Hidden Falls twice so far, once in 1954 and once in 1993. That's a gap of 39 years! And Hidden Falls is probably close in size to Phalen. So maybe the fact it hasn't been in Phalen for almost 20 years doesn't really mean anything?
Well there's always the thought that it hasn't been in Phalen for so long because it will never be in Phalen again, but I'm starting to doubt that thinking. The park that Maplewood got so mad about was a Maplewood park I believe whereas any part of Phalen that goes into Maplewood is part of a regional park and thus not really Maplewood's concern. Same thing with Battle Creek and it was there not too long ago.
Well I'm about to go home. And then I'll be heading out tonight with my singles club. They're celebrating my birthday tonight since it's someone else's birthday as well (mine isn't really until Monday). I suppose I may be on late tonight for a bit, and possibly tomorrow a bit, but otherwise see everyone tomorrow night at McGovern's.
Yup! Scharas birthday is the same as my daughters - April 23 (or is it his dogs b-day too?) :) anyhow, it is signed by Schara and a gift for my brother in law who fishes every lake in Minnesota! really, he does!
I'll be back too, got THE CALL. Gotta go pick up my honey from work early.
Ian, I set up my account so long ago and if you change your name then you get those funky shades put by your name, I never considered that as "cool" thats why I didn't do it and I lose all my awsome feedback :) BRB
Hi. Is this the place where I can talk about the Winter Carnival hunt? I'm new to the event and want to know what are the best ways to prepare to search for the prize?

Allison,I don't think anything means anything to the cluewriter...thats why he throws us for a loop every year!
So it shouldn't be in Hidden Falls until 2032!

You got lots of feedback.
Ron Schara's fishing guide ?
OK - does anyone know much about Smith Park? Does it still exist?
Mear Park 1975
No, sorry.
I gotta go earn some points. Wifey cooked, so I get to clean up.
Gotta say it one more time:
I'm off work until the hunt is over !

I sell too, but not right now.
Ian is on the loose!
thanks Maureen for the refresher-I knew that! It was so familiar-ok, we can cross that one off the list.
You might want to go back and get your e-mail off there.
Don't worry about Smith because it won't be there

JOE!!!!
Hi, Walrus. In what way do want to prepare? One way you can is come to McGovern's tomorrow nite for the Fourth Annual Pre-Dig Gig. See my tag-line...
No. I'm not Joe.
Uh... Yeah. I *know* you're not Joe.
Hmmmm.
Walrus, welcome! In what way are you looking for help in preparing for The Hunt?
Well Joe Green. I'm curious if you're better off in a team type deal.
Or if you can succeed on your own?
How much time do most people spend doing this?
