Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Alright Noodlers, lets get noodlin' Hidy Ho from Las Vegas
Mike - like a spark hit me as in a Matchbook also (a large matchbook box). Also the small one I have at home is Diamond brand and it is a Red, White, and Blue box. I think this year will have some patriotic symbolism to it. Far and Wide - thinking a large park also.
Anyone connsider the strong possibility that it may be in a tree or above the ground do to the snow shortage? I'm not sure how much is there but from what I hear its not much
I'm thinking it's in a park where you can see sparks??-A park where the 4th of july is held for a fire works show??wild guess -the matchbook thing is a good analysis-any other ideas??Is anyone actually going out to hunt tonight?
Ok so last year after the medilion was found, I went down to McGoverns and went in the back room and nobody was there. I did not know there was an upstairs. Come to find out everyone must have been up there.
The rehash-bash is held in the park where the medallion is found. The pre-dig-gig is held at McGoverns.
have it your way, scribe! i know you will anyway.
You got that right! Wish I could have met ya, Ares. :-)
Stopped at McGov's but i don't know anyone so i chickened out and came home to read the clue.
You! You should have come and said hello! I asked people if they had met "Usual Suspects" cuz Scribe and I remember meeting you in the park last year! Were you with two other guys? We saw some young guys that looked like they wanted to join in but looked lost.
Anyway, nice seeing all of you again. It was a blast.
Nice to put more faces with screen names! There was quite a crowd tonight. I think I missed a few folks.
Those that I did meet though that said they haven't posted yet, remember you're amongst cooler friends here. We don't bite. We're only as nuts as you are...
okay...some of us are nuttier, but we're friendly. I expect to see you posting later today!
I liked the comment earlier this evening about Sparky the seal. I thought the same thing!
I also liked the comment about the fireworks and the Capital Mall. That thought also passed through here.
Annie - I kept looking for you...wish you had stopped by for awhile.
Sugarlips and friend - It was wonderful seeing you again! Friend needs a login name!
And yes, Steve, it's really NOT at Harriet Island. :-)
Just to deny any rumors, no I'm not the new cluewriter. I think I can write poetry at least a little better than that. On the other hand, maybe that means the new writer got the job because they can make a good puzzle and not because they can write pretty clues.
Of course that pretty much trashes my earlier theory about Hidden Falls if it is indeed a new person. Not that it can't be there, but I have less reason for believing so.
I do find it curious that they mention the cold and snow, things we didn't have a couple of weeks ago. Although the first clue could certainly be the last one written.
It certainly wasn't written more than a week ago. It could be we have the same clue writer - but the last one was thrown together quickly. Time will tell.
"No purchase is necessary to win. Photo copies, handwritten and/or online printouts of the published clues will be accepted."
"But remember, you may not print out the clues for the Pioneer Press prize. You must clip the clues out of the Pioneer Press newspaper to be eligible for the whole $10,000 prize."
Sounds rather contradictory. Although I wonder if one must have the real clipped clues for the $10,000 and possibly the handwritten or printed clues only apply to the post-hunt drawing?
Well, it was wonderful meeting everyone this evening. It was very nice to put faces to names. I hope to see everyone out at the parks. Must get SOME sleep!!!!! Take care and SCD's
I was thinking along similar lines - but last year there was some question and upon calling the PP, turned out handwritten or printed from the internet site clues were okay for the whole thing.
New clue writer is definately my opinion. Either that, or the old one is getting lazy. Seems the first clue is usually two four line stanzas. This is all just memory, I haven't researched it. I just got home. Ha ha! The hunt is underway!!!
No, the last clue writer seemed very concerned about not only rhyme, but meter as well, and the rhyme scheme they had wasn't that hard to use, even if it was a last minute thing. For as much time as the last cluewriter seemed to spend on making the clues sound nice, I don't think they would have settled for anything that didn't measure up to their usual standard. This just sounds too different to not be a different person.
Alright Noodlers, lets get noodlin' Hidy Ho from Las Vegas
The medallion is in a match book. Any takers? The whole light a spark thing?
"Far and wide" can we assume its in one fo the larger St. Paul Parks?
I like that one. The only things to possible interpret are far and wide and light a spark.....nothing else is there to decipher
Mike: Possibly in a cigarette package?

They've hired Allison at the PP.
Allie: For what?
Battle Creek.
Allie: What do you mean? Battle Creek what?
Noooooo....in response to the "Well, that's certainly different."
I'm sure Allison would rather hunt than be the cluemeister...right, Allison?
Oh, I C...what do they want Allison for?
Battle Creek----Rec or what there people.
His mind?
Anyone connsider the strong possibility that it may be in a tree or above the ground do to the snow shortage? I'm not sure how much is there but from what I hear its not much
I don't think that above ground is where it will be, but it is possible. I think by or near a tree is very likely though. At least near some cover.
I don't think they would put in on anything that needed climbing, do you? They did strap it to a tree one year tho.
I'm thinking it's in a park where you can see sparks??-A park where the 4th of july is held for a fire works show??wild guess -the matchbook thing is a good analysis-any other ideas??Is anyone actually going out to hunt tonight?
Hmmm...I imagine it's going to go quick this year. The key is being able to find the right park quickly.
I was thinking the same, that perhaps it is where fireworks have been held, like at the State Capitol! Not going anywhere tonight.
I'm staying home tonight. I'll keep the fireworks thought tucked away though.
Anything is possible, Fireworks --- matchbox----- Cigarettes box or just a word that rhymes with PARK.
how is everyone any good thoughts about the first clue State capital but what about the park
Well - we will just have to wait for another clue...I'll have to say Good Nite for now...
Good point, Angie - is the Capital Mall considered a park? I think it might, but I am not sure.
Annie: That gets asked every year...still not sure what the answer is? :)
good night all!!!

Ian, wish I could have seen ya again.
I too am off till tomarrow night. Good Luck Noodlers
Night all, it was nice meeting everyone tonight. See you in the parks.
_-THX 1138-_ Yeah i chicken out but i was with my girlfriend
My buddy was in here tonight thought. Teddy was one of my partners last year so.
I didn't have any fella's to get out tonight.
I looked around but i was clueless.
Hi and Goodnight all! It was great to put more names with faces tonight, although I'm terrible about keeping them straight. What a turnout!
Anyway, we've got an early morning wake up ahead, so I've got to get under the blankets!
Thank you again to everyone who was able to come down - it really was great to see everyone getting to know one another face to face!
So let me get this straight. The treasure will not be hidden at Harriet Island?
Yup Yup, no Harriet, AND its
In St. paul
Well that makes it a lot easier. I think I'll go get my shovel and head down the park right now. Talk to you all later.
Good Evening/Morning/Whatever...

Blows my mind away.... no Harriet Island!
Don't let it blow your mind, Jake. You need that for noodling.
hey was the film crew around
They were there. Some of them left earlier to get ready for some shooting tomorrow.

Perhaps a call to the PP could clear this up.
New clue writer is definately my opinion. Either that, or the old one is getting lazy. Seems the first clue is usually two four line stanzas. This is all just memory, I haven't researched it. I just got home. Ha ha! The hunt is underway!!!
Rushmore - Nice meeting you too! See ya in the parks!
