Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
I find it interesting the use of "far and wide", even though they are containing the hunt to St Paul. I realize St Paul is a big city, but could they be meaning look on the outskirts of the city?
Thosemedallingkids, whats happening, hi to you too maureen, and everyone else. Was at HI today with Steve the Saint Paul Parks Book guy and we actually saw someone looking there.... makes you wonder if he even knows there is a clue out yet.
In the Winter Carnival section of todays paper,on page 2 there is a little map of downtown, it shows "fireworks viewing" atKellogg and also the torchlight parade route, which also goes along Kellogg. "light a spark"=Torch/fireworks...It's at Kellogg :)
Maureen, I don't know that it necessarily means a new park, but instea of focusing on a park that is downtown (such as Mears), look at the ones along the edges.
I like the idea of Sparky and Charlie Brown and Snoopy. I thought there might be reference in the clues last year with the Snoopy statues so if that is the case this year, cooler!
I truly believe that clue one is telling us to stay in a St. Paul park. Any other reference would be something that would be made clearer in later clues.
For that matter, Hidden Falls is near enough to the Mpls./St. Paul airport and there is some orange ball things on the wires there that I believe are markers of some sort for air traffic.
maureen, if you want to combine your "trapped in a button" theory with the charles schulz theory, i've got a collection of johnson high school homecoming and sno-daze buttons with none other than snoopy on them! hmm.....
That little part of St Paul that is south of the river, Cherokee is on the west part of that, and Holman I think is on the right side. So I doubt you'd be able to see it from there. Probably be more of a chance of seeing planes from MSP than Holman.
Just a quick off topic question for those who are familiar with eBay since it keeps coming up. I have these two "Official tributes of Great Britain honoring the Royal Wedding Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer". It's basically an envelope with a first day of issue commerative stamp and special coin inside a protective folder. Do you think something like that would sell for much?
camp snoopy sock
ah-Maureen--Charles Shultze graduated from Central--hence-Central Park!
roseville, i think.

I think your right kids, new dig site.

Hey Jake, what were you two doing out at HI?
Maureen, I don't know that it necessarily means a new park, but instea of focusing on a park that is downtown (such as Mears), look at the ones along the edges.
Just thought I'd say hi, I have to take care of the 3 esses, than its lights out for about an hour and a half. Bye everyone. Happy noodling!
what do you think about the arch in search or ark in park also isnt far and wide a comic strip
I mean could be old, but a new park to us to dig in.
I like the Kellogg theme too--no fear-it is on the bluff and far and wide could be seeing far and wide along the mississippi river from there.
Hi All!
I like the idea of Sparky and Charlie Brown and Snoopy. I thought there might be reference in the clues last year with the Snoopy statues so if that is the case this year, cooler!

Ditto TV :)
but it is still fun to far fetch anything--
Hi Terry,
You are right, I'm getting deep again. I just think it will be like some park were not used to.
Kellogg also has lights in its trees.
So having said that....where's my list of all the Snoopy and Charlie Brown statues? What about Dunning Field behind Central High School?
Fireworks at the Capital can be seen from several vantage points...Cherokee, Prospect, Mounds, etc.,
Far and wide could refer to just about anything - including the river flowing far and it's certainly wide.
No fear could be anything or nothing...but I like the idea of air travel and Holman field...seen from Mounds. Can it be seen from Cherokee?
For that matter, Hidden Falls is near enough to the Mpls./St. Paul airport and there is some orange ball things on the wires there that I believe are markers of some sort for air traffic.

Terry, you always want it to be at Dunning Field!
terry, i've got pics of all the charlie brown statues and their original locations up on my web site. no map though.
Allison - It's just always an idea. Where I want it is in my hand!
Button's are metal, I posted that before, we would have metal det. again. Camp Snoopy Sock Maybe.
I love the Dunning Feild idea!
I say no to seeing Holman from Cherokee. (yes up to the highbridge but no after it)
It has been at Cherokee a couple of times in the past 10 years hasn't it?
so are skoal tins, maureen. :) 1996, harriet island.
They have been using alot of socks.

ok-i got the charlie brown map right here!
Ares those Johnson buttons will make you some change$ on EBay.
Hi All!
I don't think they would want us that close to the statues. The hunt would be all over.
I too like the Charles Schultz "Sparky" connection, and a Camp snoopy sock would be perfect.
aren't most of the statues gone though?
evening scribe.
It's too soon for the park yet.
no they won't, me2 :)
There are fire rings at Mounds, Como, Cherokee and Newell. I don't remember any at Hidden Falls.
I love the Dunning Feild idea!
Me2,we can always use my theory from last year!LOL!
HiYa Scribe!
Seriously,I think the patrotic theme....did anyone read the Winter Carnival section in the paper?
It may be too early for the park yet...but it is fun noodling the possibilities. It's a long time till midnight.

Hey Artemeis! I didn't get around to your side of the room last night!
Hopefully we'll meet up through the park or re-hash bash!
Evenin Sam!
There are fire rings at Hidden Falls. I actually had a bonfire in one just a few months ago. They are up by the falls themselves.
