Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Shaggy 2 Dope
I was thinking about taking my videocamera out for this hunt for a wicked clown perspective on things. Then I'd go find those movie guys and interview them.
Pac,leaning more towards Cherokee or Mounds, but HF is in the running.....just not a great place for all these people is all, really spooky and dangerous!
Hi all: I can't keep up with you. Either my modem's too slow, this web site is slow, or it's my MSN internet access. (It couldn't be my lack of typing ability) Anyway, I saw on the WC events listing for next Sunday that there is a sleigh ride or something scheduled at Phalen golf course. Maybe that's why the snowblowin'.

Can I watch this!LOL! That would be a riot! You have to do this, you have to!
More towards the end of the hunt though, there will be plenty of people around. This early I wouldn't spend any time in an unlit park alone, but once the hunt heats up and lots of folks are hunting, there shouldn't be any problem.
Chris,I can't hear you I can't hear you I can't hear you......
Lee,Gotta find out if Jake 's gonna call it into Me2 first....I don't wanna bunch of confusion! THX could post it too,he may stay home for the same reason you are.:)
The african sparrow starts molting at sunset of the fourth clue......
doesnt H.F. close their gates? So you'd have to walk down some big ass hill before even getting to the park? I can't really remember, I haven't been there for like 10 years.
Bob,we are having the same problem.....THX has spent a lot of time on this thing just to get it up to semi-normal and my e-mail is still all screwed up!
Shaggs, yup, but i think the other entrance is open sometimes at night.....can't remember though.Someone should drive by tonight and see if they are keeping it open......Wolffpac?
hillsdale ave is directly across the park from where they have the tubing hill and lots of "treks" for biking/walking there? can't wait for clue tonight.....going to take the kids out here tonight to let them help hack around.
alfa, you can probably expect a decent-sized nightmare if you try to switch from msn (scribe and thx this applies to you too). i can tell you some of the nightmares i've heard off-line if you'd like.
The last time the medallion was hidden at Hidden Falls, the gates were left open during the heat of the hunt. I would expect the same thing this year if it's there...or at least if a bunch of hunters are there.
Hi everyone. Medalling kids and I went to Hidden Falls today, just to take a look around. A couple of things I'll be watching for in the clues are some reference to the sound of planes, Minnehaha Falls (it's right across the river.) and Fort Snelling. Just thoughtI'd share my thoughts!
Scribe: I read yours and THX's and others' postings few days ago about problems with MSN. Thus far, I HATE IT! But, I do have a slow modem and computer, also don't type fast. It couldn't be the rum, could it? :-)
Bob,it's a good bet it's not the rum! THX had to get online support and was with them for about 2 hours on saturday....You'd think Microsoft would make it easier for their new customers after all we didn't sue them!
Chris,Grisham's books are all related to the state of Mississipi in one way or another. In this case "A Time To Kill" was actually set in the heart of the state.
apparently, scribe and bob, from what i've heard the dsl circuit on your lines will actually show msn as the customer. msn pays for it and then bills you for it. which means that you can't change isps without msn returning control of your line to you. be prepared to have a conference call with reps from the puc, the ag's office, qwest and msn. it may come to it. then again this is only something i've heard so it may or may not be true.
I think tonight's clue will not be too specific.....probably something with a grove of trees(BIG help) or picnic tables but maybe just maybe they'll give us a street.
I think this years game is a bit different...it's more clues on what you can relate to phrases.....thats why I like the Mississppi theory.
Spark= makes me think of fireworks over the river
Far and wide= a direct reference to the Mississippi
Every Hill= the seven hills of St.Paul all on the river
I'm sold on my cable modem. Easy installation and in no time I was surfing at great speed. I wasn't about to have Qwest dicate where I got my internet service.
I'm going to go get a few things done here so I will be bright eyed and ready to noodle that next clue.
What time is it available downtown? Seemed earlier than 11:30 last night.
Ares: Thanks. E-mail me whatever info you have. For the rest of you; I'm about 10 postings behind each time I try to post. For me, clues 1 and 2 just say definitely that the Med is in a hilly St. Paul Park. "Far and wide" in the first clue had me noodlin' that it was in a wide (as opposed to narrow) park far from the normal throngs of people. Such as Battle Creek, at the far eastern edge of St.Paul. "Knit your brows" = furrow your brows which made me think of a plowed field such as a farm (Crosby Farm Park) would have. "Time to kill" could be a visible clock (tower) that has stopped, or a stopwatch used to "kill" time when timing a race of sorts (track or x-country skiing). I'll sign off now, as I can't keep up with you all. Good Luck!

That's nothing, I called it LAST year.
Pac,leaning more towards Cherokee or Mounds, but HF is in the running.....just not a great place for all these people is all, really spooky and dangerous!
Brag it up wolffpac! Brag it up!
::grinning::
yes, wolf should get the credit - he knows the place by heart.
anwway, HF is spooky at night, not much light down there
I would not go there at night.
battle creek is the place, streets refered to as hills and the school
Unless JC came along.

Scribe, if you go tonight, you can call me with the clue and I will post it. I am not going out tonight - have to work tomorrow.

Can I watch this!LOL! That would be a riot! You have to do this, you have to!
Chris, lots of folks agree with you
alfa, it's probably msn :)
they threw in the whole lead you to the river parks just so you would kill some time. no need to fear it won't be there. just a hunch.
More towards the end of the hunt though, there will be plenty of people around. This early I wouldn't spend any time in an unlit park alone, but once the hunt heats up and lots of folks are hunting, there shouldn't be any problem.
Thanks Ares. I was one of the unlucky ones who"had"to switch from Qwest. Don't know how long I'll stay with MSN.
Chris,I can't hear you I can't hear you I can't hear you......

The african sparrow starts molting at sunset of the fourth clue......
Just let me know, I can help if you need me.
PS - And oh, what a lovely sunset it will be

Has anyone thought about the "time to kill" refering possibly to a battle, as in Battle Creek?
I decided to go with bitstream instead of MSN, it has been great.
Shaggy, the south gate is closed all winter. I don't know if the north gate closes in the evenings.
Shaggs, yup, but i think the other entrance is open sometimes at night.....can't remember though.Someone should drive by tonight and see if they are keeping it open......Wolffpac?

Time to Kill in my mind has always made me think Grisham and Mississippi.
Time to Kill makes me think of Duke Nuke'em
alfa, you can probably expect a decent-sized nightmare if you try to switch from msn (scribe and thx this applies to you too). i can tell you some of the nightmares i've heard off-line if you'd like.
Grisham and Mississippi.
what do they have to do with each other? understand where they relate grisham to time to kill how does mississippi relate scribe?

Anybody out there reading the clue of today?
Hey, don't go blaming rum on anything...
i'm with you on that, snow mommy. if it's there we'll get something like that here really quick.
Like tonight?
Bob,it's a good bet it's not the rum! THX had to get online support and was with them for about 2 hours on saturday....You'd think Microsoft would make it easier for their new customers after all we didn't sue them!
There is also a group of 4 or 5 VERY large trees by the parking lot they really stood out. HUGE!
Chris,Grisham's books are all related to the state of Mississipi in one way or another. In this case "A Time To Kill" was actually set in the heart of the state.
One thing is for sure, it's not at a flat park.
apparently, scribe and bob, from what i've heard the dsl circuit on your lines will actually show msn as the customer. msn pays for it and then bills you for it. which means that you can't change isps without msn returning control of your line to you. be prepared to have a conference call with reps from the puc, the ag's office, qwest and msn. it may come to it. then again this is only something i've heard so it may or may not be true.
My 2 year old doesn't want me to do this now so I'll be back after she goes to bed. Bye!

Time to Kill=well I just explained that

Ares,THX says he's heard that too. That unlike other ISP's you have to have the line freed. He got the info off an ISP website.
Kinda is like the movie "Alien" just in ISP format.
Ter,I think I'll go down at about 11:15 just in case!
ok i'am going out on a limb but first place that it sound's like is highland park, they are going to redo the golf course there anyway.
THX still says Loring Park!LOL!
It was posted at 11:12 last night.
