The Pioneer Press medallion has been found. Details are at our Winter Carnival page.
The hunt's over, but the discussion rages on ...

When the clue about the cape and the whip came out, I thought it meant that it was in a bandana inside a Cool Whip container. ("Really hip", translating into, "Cool)
I keep hearing how yellow stone means Yellowstone Nat'l Park, but does anyone know what sugary loaf is supposed to represent if we are using the street names theory?
Of course I have been called a complete idiot by several people, but hey, I'm just trying to come up with every possible angle I can! This whole hunt is frustrating the Hell outta me!!!
I used to live in Winona. There is a big hill, scenic overlook, park named Sugar Loaf. Kind of a local landmark in Winona. Too obscure? That's my only thought, for whatever that's worth.
Does anyone out there know when all the trees in the park were trimmed? Looks like quite recently. Wondering if medallian placed before all the trucks packed down the snow; it's impossible to dig under those big tire tracks isn't it.
Hi! Back from lunch. Holly Wood, I went to what I thought was the foundation about 10:10pm, but didn't see anyone else (at least not Deb with the bright light or you). Brought chips too. Oh well.
I think we have to assume that the editor at PP is doing his job. Surgary Loaf is the tip of a mountain in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
Has anyone tried an anagram for words in this clue? Yellow stone if you change stone to notes you get yellow notes ( post it notes) or POST.The tip of a post or a post on the tip of the sledding hill somewhere. I think anagrams still hold the key.We know it's in CP they have to be narrowing it down to a certain part of the park by now (just a thought)
Still Looking: the trees in the park were trimmed as recent as the first week in january. The branches were left in heaps along the boulevard and throughout the oaks on the south end for about 2 to 3 weeks. Then all of a sudden, about a week or less before the Carnival began, big trucks came out and picked them up. They drove all through the park, (I'm sure in the beggining everyone saw the big tread marks they left behind.)
College Kid - that's a clue from way back when. The rest of the clue, demo/mode, both unscramble to spell dome. The large object is the dome of either the cathedral or the capitol (pick your favorite). Both can be seen from Cherokee park.
I can not beleive that no one has found this darn thing. Shooting Star an I were out untill 2am looking with about 200 other hunters. If someone is holding onto it there DEAD!!!
All of you who are asking about clues from way back are obviously not part of the COOLER CREW. We have been looking since the beginning and all the clues have been deciphered. There is commradery with us and we will find the medallion.

Sue - I ended up at 'the central bonfire' for about 15 minutes (until 10:30) and then hunted... I thought the foundation was the fire pit overlooking the bluff and even with the bathrooms....maybe I screwed it up...
SueBee- thank you for the advice on the refresh button. I wasn't sure how that worked.
Upallnight- just cause people aren't posting a message every 10 seconds doesn't mean they haven't been reading the Water Cooler. My aren't you quite the unwelcoming little man?
If a cape and a whip is used by a Ringmaster and you take the anagram of tip (pit),ring and pit might be the fire pit ring and if you stand in the middle of the fire pit and look north you can see a small opening in the trees (a perfect circular opening in the trees) where you can see the tip of smoke stack and the plume (large object to guide) but if you walk out of the pit smoke stack is no longer in view.(just another thought)
Holly Wood, here's what Deb posted about the location of the foundation yesterday: ok- on cherokee the west side ( toward the river ) right by the cliffs- there is a foundation of a building-- it is on a little lookout right straight between the bathrooms and the "other" smoke stack. I (SueBee) was at the bonfire around 9:00 or so. Drove along Cherokee Hts. from George to Annapolis looking for the crew. C'est la vie. Maybe Sunday morning depending on the time. I'm in a choir and am busy between 9 and 11am.

STILL LOOKING--- Some ideas are a bread bag, cool whip container a cookie container anything to do with dough and bakers. Just ideas though.

IMHO, what does it matter what its in? Would you discard a potato chip bag w/o looking in it because there was no clue reference?
Of course I have been called a complete idiot by several people, but hey, I'm just trying to come up with every possible angle I can! This whole hunt is frustrating the Hell outta me!!!
PRINCE BISQUE--- look back over the last 50 posts or so. Sugar LOaf is hill near Winona, Winona street

I dug in the same general area for about 6 hours yesterday, and only covered about a 20' X 20' space! The ground was impossible to break up!

Does anyone wonder what "A large object in view will help guide you" means? Or is it just unsubstantial?
If the editor is doing his job why is the clue "sugary" online? I think stay with the winona idea
Does anyone think that the reference to zone could have something to do with zone defense in basketball?

Lo, highly doubtful that it has anything to do with basketball
I know about the dome thing but I was just wondering about the other part of the clue. If it doesn't mean anything, I can accept that. =)
Going with the street references, could zone not mean "Tow Away Zone" or "No Parking Zone", etc.?
Does anyonet think that the "zone" maybe be referring to the basketball court? (zone defense)

People - please hit the recent button rather than your reload or refresh buttons to avoid posting your message more than once. Thanks!

Has anyone thought of the yellow stone = lime stone that the park resides on???

Come on Lo.... The hunt may have furstrated Up and turned him into a 'wild, raging beast' but we're all going through some of that.....

Did anyone find it yet or is it just a rumor?
I heard that there were two bogus medallions found in the last 24 hours..... One of them was a wooden free drink token in a snack wrapper....
Students in St Francis St James United School third grade have been studying the clues and we wish you all good luck!
Q-Ball, According to the recording, it hasn't been found.
Kathy (or should I call you Ms. Clark?) Thanks for the wishes. Hope the kids are having fun. We sure are.
THANKS HOLLYWOOD. HAVE YOU BEEN OUT TO CP TODAY?
Has anyone been out to CP today?
THANKS TO YOU TO C.K.
