2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

not a problem, me2. as for separating the lines, you can either put a blank line between them or start the line with a '* ' and have a bullet in front of each line.

well, it looks like we've got some steep upward slopes, which slope away from a bunch of wooded land, and many dirt trails within the woods. not that i'm calling the park just yet, just an observation.

Somebody needs to check arlington/ark out again. I drove past before the snow flew and there were signs posted at the entrances that said something like "stay off the new turf"

I posted this way back, but I'm not going to try to find where. If the signs are still there, this may not be the park. If they're gone, maybe they were there to keep people away until the hunt began? Just reaching waaaay out here.

if it is arlington/ark, and not by the trees/hill - it doesn't leave us a very large area to search.

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 11:39 PM Permalink
Downtown Dave

Yes, that is the clue--I have the paper in front of me. Relax.

And I was the 1st SOB at Como last year, dug for 4 days without seeing 2 dozen people total, I must have walked over the thing 10 times. If last year wasn't my first year, I would probably have found it. I was looking for a shiny gold medallion laying around....Shoot, I was climbing trees and everything. LOL. Live and learn. But no really, I thought Highland yesterday and this clue doesn't sway that.

diggorius rex

sounds like most rec centers?...

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 11:40 PM Permalink
Wicked Nick

Hold up, your talkin about the Arlington rec, off of maryland and payne right? cause if so...where is there a sledding hill?

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 11:40 PM Permalink
TeddyKGB3

My perspective...no need to narrow parks yet, because if it was a small park like AA we wouldn't know for atleast 3 more clues...and if it is a big park like Highland they can let us know know because it is so big they have a lot of narrowing down to do. Quick ?...are the Water Towers at Highland off limits? where everyone always goes sledding?

VJ- Arlinton/Arkwright

different place

Mon, 01/21/2002 - 11:41 PM Permalink
Downtown Dave

  • Time and tide, fun and slide
  • Down the hill, far from the woods
  • Show that carnival hunter's pride
  • And you may trip over the goods.
