Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Ares, if I'm not mistaken there is an actual Devil's Den at Newell Park that was referenced many times when it was at Newell. There's a small wooded area that is referenced to that name.
Randy.....my previous posts are all my thoughts.....Basically I think clue 1 is referencing the Mississippi and St.Paul proper. Clue 2 again references the river as well as the seven hills that surround it.You could also pull a school or a rec center out of this one. Clue 3 Starts with a historical phrase(that is the kicker here) points you down one of the seven hills and towards a park with some point of reference to the Winter Carnival.oh and fun and slide.....well thats most parks and rec centers in the winter here in Minnesota.
quite a few years ago my grandma worked the night shift. one night, around thanksgiving, she was driving home from work & drove by a park & saw 3 or 4 men in suits out walking around the park. the treasure was found in that park & she swears that those guys were out there hiding the treasure or at least scoping the place out. this was a long time ago & i dont think that she has worked since the late 70's. but it does bring up a good question, when do they actually hide the medallion? because the clues would have to be written at that time too. so they wouldnt have known what the weather would be like & they wouldnt have known about some of the things going on that we all try to associate with the clues.
Scribe....and Palace is down the hill from cathedral hill...I see Bay st...was the Ice castle ever at palace park??? wasn't it at one time?? HMMMMMMMMMMM
td, i know about the den at newell. i'm not seeing it mentioned in any of the clues though, either in 2000 or in 84. mentioned on the cooler perhaps, but not in the clues.
I think it is "Palace" Park and subsequently they have a Winter Carnival theme.....:) But I could be wrong about there never being an ice palace there check with the historical society website if you want.It is enough for me at the moment with the name ,mural, legendary hills refernces and river clues........but again this is only clue three.:)

I am at work and don't have lots of info here. Is there an Alexander or a Pope St. in St. Paul?
