Is the bash at CP in the morning or at night like when the clue would come out? I would feel like an idiot if I was there but no one else was. (Kind of like times looking for the medallion) I'd like to stop by. Is it pot luck or catered ;o)
I'm sure you've read about the First Annual PPMCC Re-Hash Bash that's being held this Sunday, February 8 at CP, beginning at 11:30 a.m. I'm hoping you can make it, even tho you just drove home last weekend. It just wouldn't be the same w/o you - you were a major part of The Cooler. Please try and come. Please try REAL hard. Thanks.
Re: The Bash - bring all your own stuff... I'm trying to figure out how we can have/make coffee for everyone, but not able to think of a way. Guess I've gone brain-dead from those damn clues!!!
If you wish to bring xtra of something or a dish/salad/or something to share - that is up to you. Somebody's bringing xtra stakes, I think Matt. I'm thinking about brining a salad of some kind to share in addition to what I bring for myself.
We'll have the grills at CP, plus me and Cheryl are bringing our Coleman stoves in case they're needed.
After work I went back to try and find the "crack" tree. Man, *I* couldn't decipher "crack" outta that pale writing. There were about 40 of us, hanging around the tree... trying to like accept it, you know?
I got a little teary-eyed. CP was SO QUIET and looked so forlorn - like raped. It was hard to believe I wasn't going back there tonite. I hope we get a good hard, heavy snow soon to cover the scars of our hunting. (sigh)
Wes, LOL!!! Well... that's what *I'm* used to as I camp. I was thinking if somebody could bring lots of water, I'd get these coffee things where they're like a huge tea bag and make one pot of coffee, and if folks could bring a pot/coffe pot or two, we'd have plenty of coffee.
Hey all, I was an infrequent contributer to the cooler but enjoyed listening in immensely. We just moved to St. Paul this summer, but did all our digging with our "veteran" friends. The whole thing has been truly amazing to me. Sorry to all who missed it this year, esp. those who obviously had more emotionally invested in it than I did. If I find it next year will I still be ridiculed as a "Newbie"? I know I haven't served my time yet, but my life sure did come to a screeching halt this last week. Can't wait 'till next year!
This is the last, not-so-live broadcast. Well, we tried, and will do so again next year. Thanks to all (except Joe, I'm telling Casey your back!) for making it a ball. Sunday sounds like a good idea, let's contact the finders and see if they'll sponser. Take care all.
DAN, YOU'RE A LOVER!!! I'll bring my coffee make and have Cheryl bring her's two!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Westsiders: this was my first year and I wasn't ridiculed as a "newbie"... Maybe a DUMMY - LOL!!!! - but not a newbie. You're no longe a newbie - you've got one hunt under your belt!!!
The new 1998 Hudson's map books are out... almost bought one tonite.
Thanks Greenslvs. Are you new to the cities or just new to the hunt? Please bring the little one ND. I'd love to seem him (and Emmy and Hannah!). I'm sure plenty 'o folks will be happy to help out.
Thank you to all the watercoolers. You made the hunt this year much more enjoyable for me. Hope to see you all next year if I don't stop by on Sunday. I Wish you all the best.
Wes: That's what a hip whip and cape will get you in subzero MN temps!!! No wonder The Clue(less) One said it wasn't appropriate!!!
West: Not a native, but have lived here 12+/- years. Never paid a bit of attention to the Med hunt... Then one day last week - seems like years ago!! - I saw a clue and for some damn reason started pondering and pondering it AND PONDERING IT. And my mind became like a damn rat in a wheel - I COULD NOT stop thinking and running ideas past folks here!!! Wasn't this the most fun? I'm so sorry it has to end. :(
clue sevens reference to old navy is really sad and far reaching, even for the clue writer!but we had all the clues nailed dead on!! of corse no 7's reference to the sock!
WHAT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IS IF THE PP WOULD MAKE A TEXT FILE OF ALL THESE MESSAGES, GOOD AND BAD, AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE. THIS IS A LOT OF DIALOGUE, REALLY HUGE. JUST MAYBE IT WOULD MAKE FOR INTERESTING READING, FROM BEGINNING TO END. A LOT OF "CHARACTERS" CONTRIBUTED.
Wayne, I was thinking that. What if there was a web page just for all the stuff Greg Sax told us to go hither and yon to get, What's-his-name's daily diaries, the log of the past week, etc.???? Instead of copying it to Word - which made my stuff come out usless! - we could just download the file.
Hey Green I finally finished reading the days back log. Sunday sounds like a great idea. I'll probably have to come a little later since Sunday is the day we shop for my mother-in-law she doesn't drive. I like the idea of the pre-hunt bash as well. Don't forget ALL 1999 is the year of the THREE PLANETEERS!!!!! All Hail Cooler Hand Luke!! If you and Cheryl could E-mail me on Sunday before you leave let me know what you will be wearing that would be great.
Ya wanna keep going eh? OK, I've hidden a timeless lawn ornament somewhere in Ramsey Co. IT COULD BE WORTH BILLIONS! Here's the first clue: It's cold outside, snow covers the grass.
Hay, BW!!!! I'll have a white golf cap that says, "PPMCC Member/I'm Way Cooler'un You/Hail Cooler Hand Luke."
The lettering is in green, natch!! Will be in jeans, green sweatshirt and a blue/green teal coat!!!
How much are those damn Hudson map books? Aren't they pricey??? C's going to the library and going to get that book on the history of the hunts. Think I will, too.
Jeff!!! You're a few ants shy of a picnic!!!! Thanks so much!! You just showed me I really am tired of hunting after all!!!
But, see??? It's the stuff like that - the humor, the comarraderie (sp?), the clicking of us all that I'm going to miss. I better stop or I'm going to cry.
BUT!!!! There's always 1999 to set our sites on!!!! By god, we WILL next year!!! One of us WILL be in that parade next year with the rest of us walking beside the float. Maybe the PP will have our logoed wear ready by then so we look spiffy!!!!
I thought of that, was going to take on the job... but we *really* don't know any of us and it would be SO DAMN EASY for some jerk to send a virus.... That scares me.
Tho, if you wanna do that and *also* somehow convince me you're legit and I don't have to worry... Well, me and BW and C could put the stuff together, send it to you and you could send it to every one... But *maybe not* Joe Medallion????????
BW... For the parade in 1999... I know how we can make SUPER easy costumes - I was a pumpkin, tho - that we could each be a different planet... and all three of us could have the same head - CAESY'S OR COOLER HAND LUKE!!!! And we could trot by the Hunt winner's float!!!
I'm with you and Cheryl, Green a new map book and the HUNT book will be neccesary for next year. Hopefully it will be in a park near one of us again. Home park advantage can't hurt.
maybe, my kids in chior in church and has to sing in second service, might be late if we go! hope to see you all there.. thanks :o)

oops good point am or pm? hehe i assumed am....
Greg Sax: You've kept a low profile today...

I'll Be there with the little fella, but he won't let me stay long.
After work I went back to try and find the "crack" tree. Man, *I* couldn't decipher "crack" outta that pale writing. There were about 40 of us, hanging around the tree... trying to like accept it, you know?

There'll be plenty of baby sitters for him, you have to say long enuff to eat!!!
coffee ( instant and a pot to boil water on the colman stove!) you make me really want to be there!
Wes, LOL!!! Well... that's what *I'm* used to as I camp. I was thinking if somebody could bring lots of water, I'd get these coffee things where they're like a huge tea bag and make one pot of coffee, and if folks could bring a pot/coffe pot or two, we'd have plenty of coffee.
No instant tho, it's REAL coffee!!!!!

Greenslvs there is an electrical oulet under the solo picnic pavillion. I saw people brewing coffee there yesterday.
This is the last, not-so-live broadcast. Well, we tried, and will do so again next year. Thanks to all (except Joe, I'm telling Casey your back!) for making it a ball. Sunday sounds like a good idea, let's contact the finders and see if they'll sponser. Take care all.

I got it!! forgot to "set preferences!" Yahoo, now I'm ready for the next year!
We should all pick a chat room or some thing that we can all meet in every once in a while
Very nice Wes. At least the virtual you is better dressed than Matt...
Good Idea, Beeve! Where you been??????
My NEXT brilliant idea: A 1999 Pre-PPMCC Hunt Party/Get-To-Gether!!!
I don't do nude photos. My wife made me promise when I got my scanner... NO NUDE SHOTS!!!!
The clue explanations have been posted!

Thank you to all the watercoolers. You made the hunt this year much more enjoyable for me. Hope to see you all next year if I don't stop by on Sunday. I Wish you all the best.

I can't believe the clue about the sock. Everything else makes sense...but the SOCK!
A LOT OF "CHARACTERS" CONTRIBUTED.
well gotta go! hope to see you sunday if I can make it! bye till next year!
Oh, boy. Yes, sir!!! I think I'll go hide my head in a bucket of water on sunday and forego The Bash. Yup!!!
Wayne, I was thinking that. What if there was a web page just for all the stuff Greg Sax told us to go hither and yon to get, What's-his-name's daily diaries, the log of the past week, etc.???? Instead of copying it to Word - which made my stuff come out usless! - we could just download the file.
I wonder if Greg would/could do Web page????

My web page has some of Greg's info.
Ya wanna keep going eh? OK, I've hidden a timeless lawn ornament somewhere in Ramsey Co. IT COULD BE WORTH BILLIONS! Here's the first clue: It's cold outside, snow covers the grass.
Wear mittens and boots, go freeze off yer ass.
The crowds have all gone from Cherokee Park.
You'll be by yourself, all alone in the dark.
For big money prizes, aren't what you'll look fo.
The treasure you seek 's a pink flamingo.
Gooluck!
Hay, BW!!!! I'll have a white golf cap that says, "PPMCC Member/I'm Way Cooler'un You/Hail Cooler Hand Luke."

I was thinking that I could make a list of people's screen names and e-mail, to keep in touch.
Jeff!!! You're a few ants shy of a picnic!!!! Thanks so much!! You just showed me I really am tired of hunting after all!!!

Ian.... Be careful.
