2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

morning amanda.

Baxter- you didn't sound to enthusiastic when giving ms info on Merriam. You think it's too small?

I need to get going. See you all later.

Carl, great list! St. A and Merriam have parking lots, too.

Baxter

No, I just think at this point you can make it fit just about anywhere...the thing I don't like about it is it doesn't fit in the time and tide, fun and slide real well...or I should say, if you think that means something other than just a sledding hill and trees, it doesn't work well...ie. not by the river or a lake, nothing to do with Frost/longfellow...so it does work but you have to give all 5 clues a generic read...that is all...it is small, but it's 17 acres which makes it twice the size of Newell...

I may be crazy but I'm thinking St Clair park and rec center, just as an off chance. second clue every other line spells clay- a street a few blocks off the center. It's also close to webster- ie the brain part. Don't know about the rest of the clues fitting though.

Just got on-line now; what is Scribes guess you are referring too, green

green you said.....There's like only two or three that fit that.

Como and Merriam are two, and I think Battle Creek is one .

hence my BC banter

not yet green. the only reason i say it is because that's what she was pushing last year when she gave up on linwood! and it was being pushed here. kinda like we can have some influence over where the med's gonna be next year! lol.

btw, have you shared the revelation you had last nite with the rest of the crew yet, or were you going to wait until scribe does?

Thu, 01/24/2002 - 10:03 AM Permalink

I'm leaning toward Langford. The KSTP tower and Doppler ball are visible to the south/SW. The Fairgrounds are not far away. It's next to an elementary school with a playground. There is both lot and street parking for the school. And I believe Hillside St/Ave borders the park. There is a tennis court and a ball field. Not much other open space, though, and not hilly enough for sledding.

There is no parking lot at Chair-o-key. I grew up near there, and can picture every dang inch of it in my mind. Not that it helped me any four years ago!!!
