Hey all, there is a kids play area at Mound (it's across the street from the mounds) - it's pretty large too. There are a lot of hills there too - I know the area pretty well but I'm thinking Battle Creek too. But then, I was totally off last year. Does anyone know if there are radio/cell towers in the area? It's the highest point over there.

Hey Dalliance is back :) YEs I was there last night...problem is I don't know where to start looking yet...I checked out the firepits and part of the park last night until I realized my foot was about to freeze off since I got a hole in my shoe!!! Were you out last night?

Yes, I was at Mounds about 7:30. We walked a good part of it, mainly we liked it from the beacon toward downtown. 3 possible spots (downhill, no woods)
Did you notice how someone piled up all those dead trees and construction lumber by the firepits? That was nice of them! But, same at Crosby & Hidden, so not reading much into that!
I was thinking it was probably down the huge hill away from all the trees somewhere too but from what I saw the area was trampled already......but doesn't mean anything yet
as for who was asking for how you join the cooler crew (i'm sorry, i slogged through 400 posts without catching any names), you go down to the pp at 11, and ask around untill you find someone who goes by the name of scribe. bring a rubber chicken and some rubbing alcohol :) seriously though, there's no clear cut definition of what a cooler crew member is. heck in the minds of some, i was a figment of their imaginations until last nite. and i'v been around since conway.

No. I saw 2 teenaged girls by the pit, and a group of about 6 men and women walking around. I think I picked up some frozen doogy doo that I first thought was wood -- left the flashlight in the car. Won't do that again!
ares... I have other family that went to Johnson.. and We have been Looking for the Medallion since I can remember ..in the year it was at Cherokee we were just feet away from it ... and in the past we have dug with former Medallion finders.
Ares - you are correct....in the listing for St. Paul Parks and Recreation -- Battle Creek is not listed when you 'click' on St. Paul parks -- it is only listed in the Recreation Centers section. - SO - I may need to focus on Merriam -- as Clue #1 definitely states "you can find it in a St. Paul park". -- the "park and rec" line in Clue #5 must only refer that the St. Paul park also has a recreation center -- but it has to be both.

patti, there's actually the rec centre and then the park. they're apparently 2 separate entities, as the whole of the park is run by the county.

Was just at BC cops there talking to rec director. He said he wants more rangers in and around the park for watching all the hunters :)
