Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
'mom'
Good evening, all!
I dunno. Just don't know. Drove through Battle Creek on the way home. Some things seem to fit, but I'm not sure if it feels "right". We live by Mounds so I almost have to drive through that one. I had hopes for it earlier, but I think the last clue mentioning "rec" kind of means a park with a rec center.
Have an appt this evening. Hope to be able to join y'all for the clue later. I hope I'll be able to catch up on the slogging too! Over 1700 posts since this morning - aaarrrggggh!
I stopped at the Ruminator on Grand Ave after work. They had 52 books left. I'm not sure how many are left at the Map Store. Thanks TV, I appreciate the support.
Hope this makes sense when I finish, but there's this thing rolling around in my head that I just need to stick out there and maybe get rid of it.
Every year it seems there's words, or ideas that get doubled up in the clues one way or another. Usually it doesn't mean a thing. (Except for the line of double division in '98)
This year the same thing happens and everyone is looking for echos and such. Why? What's so different about this year? Is this again the result of over noodling or am I out in left field without a clue?
I agree. I don't think it is about echos at all. I think it is more like a cheer. The first line I think of is from the old cheer "Hey, Hey Whaddya Say?" If you say the clue right, that is exactly what it sounds like. I would think of an echo more like, "Hello....hello...hello". I may be in left field with ya, but that is what I think.
Is the book about treasuring hunting in general, or solely about the Winter Carnival hunt? FYI, my wife would be the only one to catch any misspelled words....she is a transcriptionist for a neurology clinic........I could care less how it is spelled, as long as it helps me find the treasure!!!
Does anyone know of the "In or on the air" at Battle Creek? the park down by 61 shows more things that might be in or on the air, but I don't think that part of Battlecreek fits the rest. Any Ideas?
reg, do you have any idea how many posts that is to summarise???? there's been a lot of noodling, a fair amount of re-tossing around existing ideas. there've been a handful of new ideas. no real consensus on a park. a lot of newbies, and some NEWS :)
ter, that's exactly what green's theory is! which is why we can rule como out. lol! actually its not so bad. cuz scribe's got this thing for como, too.

I know someone that wants a book, are there any left at the Map Store?
Call them and ask...PSA
Hi Mom! I had hopes too - there would be a place to have hot chocolate - even cozier than the cooler mobile!
So were any of you at the PP last night at 10 pm w/ a heater outside?
one year it was in w.st.paul in Dakota county.what did the clues say about location that year?i'll try to find out
Steve - there are a couple errors <gasp!!> in your second edition. I just caught the Prior one last night, too.
Gotta fly for now - catch ya later!

well, I guess I am just going to suffer 'til 11. who else is going to the PP tonight??
West St. Paul - That would be nice since that is my area.
Is St. Paul Park a suburb of St. Paul - at 1st when it said it was in a St. Paul park, I figured they could mean it quite literally.

Just a quick THANK YOU to Mike and the hazmat team, for removing the garbage !
Map Store has regular day hours and not open on the weekend. Ruminator is open late and on weekends.
Noodling is all we have at this point...that and too much time on our hands!
You Dig..was the bad news on again earlier?
Steve,
I think about 2:00 we had a visit from Mr. Newssssssssss10

Well - the guy who wanted the book just got one. Thanks for the info.
Okay, I have to admit, I am new to the cooler this year. What is "The Book"???????
He embarasses me, believe it or not.
The Treasure Hunters Guide is THE book!
79 it said nothing about what town it was in...darn
Aaron, besides some misspellings, it may be useful for your search..www.medallionhunt.com.
Treasure Hunter - I didn't see any mistakes :-)
Lov ya Annie.

Have we narrowed it down to anyone or two parks ?
one more thing, ter. we've watched ww burn his jacket!
whaddya know. one of the guys i work with went to school with greg sax!
Aaron - check out the website - www.medallionhunt.com
You'll get a good feel for what the book is...and it is about St. Paul Parks and this medallion hunt!
Does anyone know of the "In or on the air" at Battle Creek? the park down by 61 shows more things that might be in or on the air, but I don't think that part of Battlecreek fits the rest. Any Ideas?
Ares - You're right! I shoulda remembered that!!
HOW DO I GET A WATER COOLER BUTTON?
Waiting (and WAITING!) for our guy who was supposed to be here at 6:30...
I went past the Hwy 61 part of Battle Creek tonight too - the lot was locked up tight.
E&H's Mom has the buttons. They're $1 each. I'm sure you'll meet up with her in a park somewhere once we get to the park.
There will always be the BASH, too. Where ever the medallion is found, on the 3rd.
Hey eveyone, sorry I wasn't here last night at 11, I have finals this week. Can you guys give me some updates.
Update...
We still don't have a clue...
Nothing but obsessive compulsive noodling here...
There may be a little word scrambling in this clue.
1. hunters pride---lions at como
2 spark ---- sparky the seal
3 in air---baseball
4 on air--microphone
5 across from dog pound
field full of baseball diamonds, hockey, soccer and steep hills
However...I am ruling BC out due to lack of corresponding landmarks to fit te clues at this time!

What is your take on the scrambling Reg
IT IS AT COMO PARK ---TOT RIDES, EVERYTHING
Isn't good ol' Sparky dead?
can someone tell me why we ruled out Newell??
what have i missed in te last 1600 posts? mom says there have been diggers at BC all day.
If echo means anything - I'm afraid it could mean a second year straight at Como.
shudddddderrrrrriiiinnnnnngggggg
Heading across the street to Rice park for some shots of the ice sculptures. I'll be sure to look for any clues when I'm there ;)
ter, that's exactly what green's theory is! which is why we can rule como out. lol! actually its not so bad. cuz scribe's got this thing for como, too.
