Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
King Boreas aka Ian
Annie:
Can you copy the CD for me? Or can I copy it sometime? I could upload it, and anyone interested could get it? Any way to work this out?
slim, i'm staying home tonite. i'll probably be at the press tomorrow nite.
here's the deal with the echo.
clue 4: hey, hey, and ok, ok. sounds like an echo, right? repeating como this year would be like echoing the hunt from last year. the alternative is that the medallion is hidden in a place where there's a good echo. perhaps the highway 61 end of battle creek with its cliffs, or there's an echo area in indian mounds.
as for battle creek, everything west of mcknight road is in saint paul. the park, however, is run by the county, as opposed to every other park in the city which are run by the city.
Ian, we'll work it out somehow. I don't have my CD Creator hooked up to my computer at this time, so perhaps you could copy it if you wanted to. It has both the song "Come to the Carnival at Old St. Paul", and "The Legend of the Winter Carnival" - do you know if the documentary folks are actually going to use the record?
Can anyone get "in and on the air" to fit Battle Creek? Other than the siren and Falcon St.? Maybe in and on the air is referring to what the medallion is wrapped in - a disc perhaps?
I am having difficulty with in the air clue fitting BC, but aren't there other parts of that clue that fit BC. I don't think every line needs to fit. That would be the way to throw us off.
It has a large ball field with two baseball diamond. There is a Dove Mural on the Wall. (Last year)
There is a series of rolling hills to the south of the center. You can see some sort of tower as well as the capital, the cathedral, 1st bank sign, etc.
I found a bunch of frozen shredded documents there on the ball field this afternoon. Great Medallion hiding place. No dice.
Hello all ... lil slim, the old ski jump at BC is a good idea since you are both in and on the air when you are on the lifts ... but I don't know if those are at the Rec Center site off of Ruth St
Very warped, pretty much unplayable. I've had various NYC sound people try to get parts of it on CD with some very minor success, but I still need an unwarped recording of it so we can use it in the movie. So if you're successful at landing a copy. What would be ideal for us is if someone could bump it from vinyl to a CD, so we can input it into our digital editing system.
ok folks, since it looks like the cleaning crew's been through, here's a piece of advice for dealing with mr. news. ignore him. (yeah i know, i'm guilty of it too) this guy gets off on getting people to react. he gets kicked off and keeps coming back. constantly. your best bet is to ignore anything he says. there are several folks watching for him, and as soon as he gets here, the sysop gets notified.
I can't believe I wasn't told that it didn't work. I told Trent that I could somehow find a way to record my record for him if the record itself didn't work. I can't believe he didn't contact me about that! Anyway - I now have it also on CD, so if you like to take the CD to record it on others you can do so.
Do any of the clues hint at what the med is in yet? In and on the air - we were thinking possible a disc (i.e. fribee in the air, compact disk - on the air (radio)). It might be stretching it, but we really haven't come up with anything for what it is hidden in. Knit may possible refer to something though.

ok, here is one idea.
hey, hey, you say Willie Mays.
There is a Benjamin Mays school at MLK. You can see a lot from there. Just about everything downtown.
but, like I said, I am out of ideas. I don't think it is there.
Baseball and radio towers seems right. Lots of space may be the space needle. Playground also comes into mind for clue 5.

Actually, Lil Slim, I have NEVER gone down to the PP. Shame on me. Though, it is only my second year as a Saint Paul resident.
Wabbit - I don't know much about MLK, what have you seen there?
let us know when you find something when you unscramle ok ok
what about the old ski jump at BC?
wabbit, its a hell of a situation down there if you go!
The problem with anagram machine's are they don't recongnise SP Street Names
Annie:
They couldn't get much off the copy they have. I bet they'd be interested too.
The record didn't work? I know it was a little warped, but I never heard if it worked or not for them.

not like i'm the expert however,
MLK, I really liked last year.

The center is under major construction.

I just came accross the movie "Time and Tide". I decided to rent tinking it will give me a clue to the meaning of the title. Interesting!

Wabbit,
I like that idea about MLK.
That could fit.

slim,
Wabbit will have to answer that one, but I like where it is going.

I spent a lot of time at the ski jump at BC in 1995. It is gone now. There are steps up to it from BC which is off of 61? Off of burns.
There was an A B and C street up there which I thought was the trio of letters that year. (It was 3M)
There is a cave down there, though.
Too many warnings like, DONT GO ON THE ROCKS, DONT GO IN THE CAVE, DONT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR, DONT WALK HERE.
I found an orange juice 1/2 gallon under a log.
(aka: Sugarlips) Hi Digger Dave- I am a special education teacher and one of my former students used to call me that!!! :)
you huntin tonite jokysu?
ian, what record/song/etc. are you looking for?
I can't believe I wasn't told that it didn't work. I told Trent that I could somehow find a way to record my record for him if the record itself didn't work. I THINK PHALEN ANYBODY ELSE?
slim,
I did some scouting out BC earlier.
Got a awful cold and pink eye, so not much fun to hunt right now. Maybe tomorrow when it's in the 40's
have you been out
Ok, back to MLK,
Again, I have crossed it off my list.
Concordia is also OLD RONDO. A rondo is a piece of music with repeats, is it not.
The sign actually says OLD RONDO.
I liked it last year for go the old way once again since 94 is covering RONDO now.

I THINK PHALEN ANYBODY ELSE?
Thanks, Annie
We'll work something out. I have 100's of blank CDs.
There was an A B and C street up there which I thought was the trio of letters that year. (It was 3M)
