2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

From mpls. on 94 going east you get off on (Huron?) first St. Paul exit. go north to university. go right and Tower Hill is down a few on the right. it is a very tiny park. Has a radio tower a few blocks away and a tot lot among others.

I'm back -- I was doing a search on Tower Hill Park -- I asked John about it since he worked for the parks...he says there is no Tower Hill Park within City of St. Paul park limits....I'm still leaning toward BC and Merriam -- but also looking up parks near Fairview...

Hiyall!

Finally done with our (late) 6:30 appt. Then of course we had kids to get to sleep, and talking to catch up on.

I am sure hoping this is the clue that says something definitive!

Just for the record - Mounds does have a parking lot. In fact I think it has about 3. It's not a rec center though.

Greetings,

The clues seem to fit Mounds Park, and it was there in 1987, so the park is not (or was not) taboo. 1987 was the only year it was hidden in Mounds Park.

In this "politically correct" age, though, I wonder if they would risk the possible political fallout of hiding it on "sacred ground"...

When the thousands of people (not to mention Mini Donut van) arrive, it might be hard to protect the Mounds.

I tend to lean away from Mounds Park, although I've been wrong before. In fact I've been wrong for 46 consecutive years. Hmmm... I haven't been totally wrong for 46 years (except the year I spent two days hunting in Dakota County.. but I swear.. that park in Dakota County fit the clues too a tee).

Anyway, I kind like Hillcrest Rec Center in Highland Park and Highland Park near the golf course.

Tonights clue will surely be a help.

Good luck everyone!!!!
