2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Marie Smith

I agree......hey do you know the phone number to find out if the medallion has been found?

Someone noodled that diamond was referring to what it is in, a diamond match box. Fits with "spark" for clue 1

Marning, 'Heads!!!

Don't forget:

TREASURE HUNT EVENING EVENT INFORMATION:

The Pioneer Press and Cub Foods will host three special events for participants in the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt who gather at the newspaper’s downtown St. Paul headquarters to await publication of clues:

“Vulcan Night” – Saturday, Jan. 26: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt heats up with a visit from the Winter Carnival Vulcans. The hunt’s presenting sponsor – Cub Foods – and Hormel, also a Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt sponsor, will participate. KOOL 108 and the station’s KOOL KAT mascot will help host the event and prize drawings.

“Tropical Night” – Sunday, Jan. 27: Colorful leis and Hawaiian shirts will brighten the night in time for an appearance by the Winter Carnival Royal Family. The WLOL party van will pull up to help host the event and prize giveaways.

“Movie Night” – Tuesday, Jan. 29: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt goes Hollywood with Marcus Theatres and K102. Treasure hunters can watch movie trailers, munch popcorn and win theater tickets, posters and other prizes. K102 will sponsor an appearance by the Rodeo Renegades danceline and a drawing for rodeo tickets.

Time: All events will be held from 11 p.m. until midnight. Events will take place, as scheduled, unless the medallion has been found. Call the Treasure Hunt Hot Line for the current status of the hunt at (651) 228-5547.

Place: Events will be held in the lobby of the Pioneer Press building at 345 Cedar St., downtown St. Paul.

People! For safty's sake! DO NOT post home/cell telephone numbers and leave them there!!!

DELTE THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING READ!!!

This is in lieu of not even posting these kind'a things, which is even better!

nice one green. what if i have one that really fits well. that couldn't be considered a "diamond in the rough"?

Fri, 01/25/2002 - 7:54 AM Permalink
green

Slim, not to me. But that doesn't mean you're not right.

I think the key here is "jewel."

lilslim

did you head anywhere last night after pp?

Fri, 01/25/2002 - 7:56 AM Permalink

Fri, 01/25/2002 - 7:57 AM Permalink

Good Morning everyone. Well clue 6 just reinforces my belief in BC!!! Who is one of the premier diamond dealers? Harry WINTHROP, which just happens to be the street that runs along the edge of BC by the Rec Center AND the baseball diamonds which are FAR FROM THE WOODS and close to the Battle Creek magnet school which lights a SPARK in the minds of the kids and there is a huge playground for the TINY TOTS right outside the rec center. ok enough for now. bring on those who disagree or agree!

Fri, 01/25/2002 - 7:57 AM Permalink
lilslim

the rest of them...even anagramed street names, green.

Wow! That sounds pretty good! Well... If it were me, I'd keep hanging on... Stand on that spot - line up all the items you're supposed to see, and start turning in circles. As you turn, notice other things you can see from that point and look for them in following Clues.

Or, if you're really antsy, like our friend - Timmers - start digging there!
