Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

How about McGovern's tonite? Then the circle will be complete
Man now what am I to do tonight....or this weekend for that matter I had it all lined up to go out and hunt....now I am just lost...I guess my medallion fever is coming to a screetching halt.....
WHAT THE HELL, I HAD TO HAVE WALKED OVER IT ABOUT 20 TIMES LAST NIGHT. THEN A LITTLE MOMMY FINDS IT IN THE DAYLIGHT. I WAS THERE LAST NIGHT AT 1 AND THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT 3 OTHER PEOPLE. THAT IS SOOOOO DUMB!
Check back here! I'm only going on what I think might be the concensus being it was found so early. I know last year, there was talk that we should have had it the prior week because of the early find.
I'd have to say this was the most unsatisfying hunt ever. Last year comes in second, and the year before that third. At least with Como in 97 and other years we were confident in the meanings of the clues, and it was just a matter of narrowing it down and putting in some perspiration. Even now, looking at the clues, I don't really see much that makes me go, "Oh! Merriam!" Sheesh!
now the city of St. Paul falls into a depression until next November when all the hipe will form again!.... At least this year there is a cheaper brand of prozac out there...LOL
THis new clue writer is dumb as hell. Can't even write good clues. What pisses me off is I was one of the few people there last night. I looked! F*** why did I have classes this morning!!!!
Everyone, dont worry, first you get sad, then madd... then you deal with it.. just like a breakup. Give it time we will all be fine.. (I know Im a smart ass) Well Ill see everyone next yr!! You all take care!
Woodbury woman, son find Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion A Woodbury woman and her 16-year-old son found the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion this morning. Mary Kay Hamilton and son Sean located it just after 11 a.m. attached to part of a potato chip container in Merriam Park, between some baseball fields.
The duo will be awarded a $5,000 prize, plus $1,200 in groceries from Cub Foods. They would have been awarded an additional $5,000 if they had a registered Winter Carnival button. They said it is the first year they haven't bought one.
Pioneer Press Publisher Harold Higgins will introduce the winner and award prizes at a news conference at 2 p.m. today at the Pioneer Press’ downtown St. Paul headquarters at 345 Cedar Street. Cub Foods also will honor the winner.
Bummer, eh Sethmon... I was within 20 yards of the thing yesterday.. I cleaned out under the bleachers there. I thought the leaves would be a good hiding spot...
How about McGovern's tonite? Then the circle will be complete

NO DOUBT!! This year's clues didn't tell us a damn thing...these clues could have fit any park.

The silver lining here is that we will not have to deal with MR. SNEWS any more!!! :-)
This is all we know:

It was supposedly some lady with her 16 year old kid, and no button.
Ares - NO some damn woman and her son WITH NO BUTTON!!!

well then definitely not a coolerhead :)
POTATO CHIP CONTAINER????
Where is that in the clues?
Let the chips fall where they may - it's in a later clue.
I would toss the pot. chip cont. in the trash...that was NOT in the clues!!!!
Disney
Nothing is trash during the hunt.
Step: maybe about clue 9? (PC container)
maybe it was a home made, knitted chip container...heh.
When I got ther I liked the bound of dirt at the corner of the field. I was leaving to get my shovel when I heard about it.
The Five Stages of Grief:
The first stage is denial
Upon hearing the news, the digger reacts with a shocked, "No, not me."
Next comes anger or resentment
"Why not me?" is the question asked now. This outcry should be accepted, unjudged.
The third stage is bargaining
"Yes but, maybe there should be another one."
The fourth stage is depression
Now the person says, "Yes, it wasn't me," with the courage to admit that it is happening; this acknowledgment brings depression.
Finally comes acceptance
A time of facing the end calmly.
true true...even diapers in past years..YUCK
Until next year. I'm Audi ô-ô
ter, is there a place at merriam where we can burn the clues at? and how about an effigy of mr news and mebbe the clue writer too!
