Maybe, Ian... maybe... Who knows? And who gives a rat's backend??? Huh? Gotta remember... or slog if you don't... there was talk WAY back - at least between me, Cheryl and Black Widow about donating to charity... 'Member????
*This* is SOMETHING, Ian. To us, to the PP, to the Internet communites, to the greater Twin Cities area. For some reason, somehow, someway... *THIS* has happened/is happening. Can't go back, can't change it.
This group of folks has DONE something... and they are continuing to build on it and not let it rest. It's just getting better and better!!!!!!
Modem Med: I'm still laughing..."Let them go ONE more day." BTW, do we have a plan for the day when we come in here and its gone? We're gonna need some support! What about, when the snow clears and the ground isn't muddy anymore, we return to Chair-o-key Park and pick up the litter from the hunt?
You CANNOT imagine the pride I had... to be able to tell people that I was a part of all that is transpiring here... the ideas, emotions, the drive!!! To be able to say, "Yea, I'm a part of this, I'm working for this, I'm helping this..."
The people that asked about my button that know what I'm doing were... well... just thought I "need to get a life - dumb Medallion hunter!" And those that didn't seemed to think... "Oh. A group of Medallion hunters, that's different."
BUT.... I know what's really going on here... And what all of us must NEVER forget is that we are unique in the Twin Cities - an on-line community that IS DOING SOMETHNG and having an effect. Yup. We're the first.
GREG, IAN.... WE NEED OUR PLACE TO FLY OUR BALLOON AND WE NEED IT *NOW*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time has run out.....
Great, just friggin' great. Here we sit planning stuff and where are the real minds - tho Ian's got to get up for work... He'll catch this about 2:00 a.m. - when you need them????? I don't know SQUAT about what Casey's talking about or Web pages or how to get this damn balloon off the ground!!!!!
Web pages are new to me too, but if this gets moved into old discussions for a while, we won't lose what we've posted until they dump it. We could print out the priorities, other ideas since the finding of the medallion. Discussions with this crew (no e) will move to a new venue but won't be lost.
Have Faith - YOU got a picture for your postings. I haven't gotten up the courage to think about that.
Beeyo's here. I just got back from grad school, and my head feels like a pumpkin the day after Halloween. Nothing Summit won't fix. The network news tonight said "Cooler heads prevail" in a story, you guys should of seen my reaction. I scared the dogs in my pursuit of the TV. It's very nice to see we've got the animated GIF thing down, I'm working on a new look. If Cas assigns a new locale, please let me know, I'll be there.
I was thinking of that today... Don't know, but want to get a reservation asap as due to the time of the year, everything's gonna be booked up. So, like, why? Where are you going with that idea?
On saving the cooler, if the Press agrees and posts it, a text only file shouldn't be too big to download. 8214 posts in very small font (6pt), all text, and compressed? Go Casey.
If the first clue is in Sunday, is it the Sunday after the Grand Day Parade? Doesn't the early edition come out early in the day on Saturday? Parade then pre-hunt bash. Sound fun?
Ter, rite now *nothing* is sounding fun to me. I so badly wanted *something* set up prior to "this" being shelved elsewhere. We will lose momentum. Can't afford to do that, IMHO.
Kind'a shaken. I'm lying. *Really* shaken.
Wish I knew and understood more so that I could do more instead of toss out ideas and "priorities."
OK, I'm thinking. If I save the whole damn cooler in text only, page by page on the 33.6 modem, thread it all together, it would be possible. It will take a lot of time, but I feel this may be my duty. Unless PPress saves it for us....they HAVE to! Casey, what gives? Please? At least access to more than 20 posts per page would help, yes I've tried the Pref option.
BeeyoB - E-mail Casey. He answers rather quickly. We're most interested in the posts since the find of the medallion...right Green? That was when the discussion about the picnic and other activities began for the most part.
Ian - How many posts have you gotten to the guest book? Anyone you can think of that didn't sign in?
BeeyoB - Another thought. Could the new discussion board start with the discussion about the rehash bash? If you're going to ask Casey, throw that out too. My guess is it can be done. (Forever optimistic, aren't I?)
I've to got run... Believe it or not (know you won't [sad grin]), but I've run out of steam for the nite... Working on an 18+ hour day here. Gotta grab some zzzz's.
I'm gonna keep pluggin away on this... I'm GONNA. Somehow, someway. It's a win-win situation and I'm not gonna let it die...
As evident on this cooler, we would like to save this discussion into a file. Although a big file, I don't think it'd be too big if we did a text only, small font, compressed archive. If it's still too large, don't bother posting on your active server, just let me know where to get it and I'll distribute accordingly. If that's no good, I'll come down in person, give you a drive to copy on to, and a big bottle of your selection. Help and Thanks, Casey!
Terry, I think if we are to continue discussions via a post room such as the cooler (new cooler), we need to define our "core concepts" (management via St.Tommy!) and not lose sight of our roots. I don't think we can ever ditch the link of the Medallion hunt, and would like to see us linked that way in the future. Even if it's a side line link, we have to stay focused on how we met, and template our ideas and focus to a "core". Now, what are we gonna call the new room?
We have had a few loose thoughts tonight about that before we got the latest post from Casey. I agree. Let us not lose our roots. Have you slogged through our posts tonight? We seem to be all over the place - but then that's often how my thought processes move - to and fro.
We had talk about green's priorities, some ideas around community building - digging medallions and planting computers. Good Grief!
Also some discussion about a different name for ourselves. Don't want to repeat all of that here, but there seems to be some fear that if we align ourselves too closely to the Pioneer Press/Planet, we could lose our eligibility to hunt. Hmmmmm.
All, if we want a cooler, we need to define a topic. I'm thinking of activities that would compare to the hunt, all year 'round. There has to be a thesis, a common thread to all of our personalities that make us hunt for the damn thing. What's our common ground big picture wise? That's the name of the new cooler. Thinking......B
Back.... lurking... Loving what I'm seeing... BeeyoB... Will you forgive me for not being a 'he'??? THANK GOD SOMEBODY knows what to do! Thanks so much BeeyoB... You're help is needed desperately.
Is this like an experiment or something? Each morning the previous day's posts are spread over some exec's desk...."Let them go ONE more day."
If we pool all our skills and connections
And go hunting in many directions
We can stay on the topic
And be philanthropic
Just think of the Cooler reflections!
Casey said they would leave this up until it slowed way down. Then they would put it in the old discussions.
I think after wallowing there for a while, if it doesn't get used, they zap it.
Love the idea of all this slapped all over some execs desk - laughing myself silly!
Hunting Connectors - another name idea.
Maybe another discussion board??
YES Terry you've got it. They want to be e-mailed with ideas for new discussions. we need a single focus, then mass e-mail..
Maybe, Ian... maybe... Who knows? And who gives a rat's backend??? Huh? Gotta remember... or slog if you don't... there was talk WAY back - at least between me, Cheryl and Black Widow about donating to charity... 'Member????

You can bet that's never been done before.
Eagle Eye - Another community event. Those digging ideas are just flying here!
Earth Day is April 21. We could plan a community clean-up at Cherokee!
We'll be so busy, we'll have to give up our day jobs.
Eagle: I picked up a trash bag o'crap on Sunday. We're working on Web page, posing area, chat area... Slog, sweets, slog!!! LOL!!!
I move that we meet at Cherokee on Earth Day, April 21, to hunt for litter. Second, anyone?
Green - we ARE working on events. It's a Tuesday. Could meet for a picnic supper and then dig trash!!!!
Ladies, your company is divine, but I must retire for the evening. My alarm will go off at 2:00 and I MUST hear it. GOOD NIGHT !!
'Night MM! Sweet short dreams!
Night!
We're missing Cheryl tonight. She always has great ideas.
Green has left. Mz. Emotional here!
I wore my PPMCC button today on my turtle neck...
You CANNOT imagine the pride I had... to be able to tell people that I was a part of all that is transpiring here... the ideas, emotions, the drive!!! To be able to say, "Yea, I'm a part of this, I'm working for this, I'm helping this..."

Be proud - you should be.
Green will be back shortly.
Crew,
I'm thinking of replacing this discussion soon with a general discussion area. If you have any better ideas,
e-mail me.
Yours,
Casey Trauer
Casey - How soon?
Casey: you're thinking WHAT??? Just kidding.
Oh, God. What does that mean???? Oh, no!!!! Are we going to lose everything???
GREG!!!! IAN!!!! HELP!!!!!
Green - if this disappears, it will be replaced with a general discussion board. We'll meet there at least until we can figure this all out.
Where's Greg, Ian, BeeyoB, when we need their input. Anyone's input!!
Terry, you're right.
Digging Community - a discussion board of the present for the future.
I've been talking to Green. Hope she tells you my thoughts .I gotta go to bed
Modem - are you really Ian? I'm just a bit slow tonight.
Goodnight all. Thanks for the memories. See you later, here or somewhere.
What's a general discussion board????
GREG, IAN.... WE NEED OUR PLACE TO FLY OUR BALLOON AND WE NEED IT *NOW*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time has run out.....

Maybe we can get everything on diskettes (X20!!!) before they dump it?? Oh, crap. Wish the real minds were here. I'm nothing but an idea person.
Remember when Dave Young mentioned a pre-hunt party? What day of the week does the first clue come out? Is it Sunday?
Can't remember. The mind is a terrible thing to lose.
BeeyoB - Glad to see you here.
Got any ideas how we can save the material on here so we don't lose it in planet space?
I was thinking of that today... Don't know, but want to get a reservation asap as due to the time of the year, everything's gonna be booked up. So, like, why? Where are you going with that idea?

Green - nothing to get shaken about. The others on here who have knowledge will figure it out. BeeyoB does computer stuff for a living...right BeeyoB?
Our job is to make sure we find the new discussion board. If we can't find it, we'll slog through others finding each other.
We have developed a relationship and a purpose. No discussion board going to cyber heaven is going to stop us. We knew this would end eventually.
DON'T WORRY! Cooler Heads Prevail!!!
