Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
There is the opportunity to work for AmeriCorps. You get a living stipend for a year's service and when you complete the year, you get about $5,000 towards education goals. It might give you the opportunity to try out some things and get a feel for what kind of schooling you might want later.
AmeriCorps is like the Peace Corps - but here in this country. There's several groups in the Twin Cities. If you're interested, let me know. I can hook you up with one of them.
Did anybody see what happened to the pepperoni roll-ups at the RHB? I showed up late so I don't think they all got eaten? Maybe so. I just hope somebody grabbed them when closing up. They were tasty
The people I work with already think I weird. This isn't gonna help matters any.
if they get too bad just show em the article in which jake admitted to not sleeping or brushing his teeth for 71 hours straight. they'll look at you and say "know what, you ain't so bad after all"!
Do you know they sent us a survey after we told them to take their whatever and shove it! That survey was one piece of work by the time we got done...and no response.
Nite to those who are heading that way. I should be, but I have a feeling I'm going to be up a little longer tonight. Maybe tomorrow I can catch up on my sleep?? Naaaaaahh
That pill idea sure makes you think for a minute though doesn't it? All the time we must use sleeping just so we don't feel like crap.
Mom - I think if we could find a way not to need sleep, that would be way cooler - unless that just means more work work instead of using that time for family and fun stuff.
No, it would definitely mean more family and fun stuff. At least for me. There is only SO much I can hope for out of a career, and if my employer doesn't know where my priorities are, TOO BAD!
I've done the career thing. Now I figure I'm happy with a job that doesn't require extra hours, evenings and weekends. Never again will I put in 60, 70 and 80 hour work weeks. NEVER!
TV - I've been forced to go to Southview for many recalls on my Blazer, otherwise I wouldn't ever think of even driving by there because of all the negativity it generates. I usually show up with the common comment of "God I hate this place, and I don't use the word hate that much". The usual response is "so do a lot of people". You know it's bad when their staff even quotes their negative customers. I wonder if there are any satisfied ones??
Mom - You must be like me in thinking that sleep is pretty much a big waste of time. Not too productive. My wife totally thinks otherwise. If she could sleep her life away she would. We figured out that, as a couple, we do average 8 hours of sleep a day. 4 for me and 12 for her. Sometimes I think eating has the same effect, especially if you eat Spaghetti O's every day. Also time consuming. It does help my shapely figue though :)
TV - Sh!t!! You're right!! Am I an idiot or what? It's close to home and that's where we bought it, but JC, why subject myself to that over and over. You might as well get out the bamboo and get to work. Thanks for pointing out the obvious oversight on my part. Do you know where the closest one is to SV?
I second Terry's point. You have NOT been forced to go to Southview (well maybe you thought you were)....
If Woodbury Amoco is convenient to you, maybe next time you should try Merit Chev? I have NO personal experience with them either, but they do a good amount of business.
well...I geuss the time lapse proves that most people who post on here during the day are at work up to NO good and have nothing but time on their hands!!! LOL
Or maybe our spouses monopolize the computer at home?
I know of a good auto repair shop. The guy who runs it once was a little kid playing around here in my grandparents' neighborhood. Now he owns this repair shop and does great work for my family. But it's in Minneapolis :P
We've had experience with Midway Chev - and they've always been fair.
The only reason we dealt with Southview is they had a car we bought - foolish move. The car is okay now - but it almost took a major lawsuit to get it okay.
someone get a picture of that if she does.
And today I had a thought for Violent J.

Speaking of food...
Who made the wild rice casserole for the rehash bash? I want the recipe!!!!
C-ya Scribe - Thanks for all the help. I will definately C&P those replies. Great idea!!
Hell, I might just accidently fax a copy to Southview too!!
The people I work with already think I weird. This isn't gonna help matters any.

Especially when you start shipping those Ronco shields outta the mailroom.
Please!!!!!!!! Send one to Southview Chev too!

Nighty-night, all. Time to not brush my teeth.
not sleeping or brushing his teeth for 71 hours straight
I guess it's all relative.
nite dal. c ya tomorrow.
Nah Dal, I'd ship 'em from home. Train the squids to pack boxes. Free labor, why else have kids?
Yep, time for me to head to bed.
Goodnight and MCL to all who have toddled off. Folks are getting back to the usual routines.
ARRRGGGHH!
I do not like that new board. Harder than you-know-what to try to slog through, and S-L-O-W!
Not gonna do it. Not going there until they shut this one down (please PLEASE don't kill this forum!!).
yeppers. nite all.
slow doesn't begin to describe it, mom.
It's slower than molasses in January at the North Pole.
I agree. Not much to like there. No way to tell what's been read yet or what's new.
and since it's not the Water Cooler, will there still be a Cooler Crew?
Nite to those who are heading that way. I should be, but I have a feeling I'm going to be up a little longer tonight. Maybe tomorrow I can catch up on my sleep?? Naaaaaahh

Ian - There will always bee a cooler crew.
Ian - all I can think of after your water cooler or not post is an Arnold Schwartzenegger voice:
It's notta coooler - ittza forruum
Mom - I think if we could find a way not to need sleep, that would be way cooler - unless that just means more work work instead of using that time for family and fun stuff.

Okay, so I've slogged through all that went on while I was at class. Evening to all who are still here.
Shouldn't you be able to take it to any Chev dealer for recall work? I'd be danged if I'd show up there for any reason.
Later TMK
I mean hello TMK (I took the word 'evening' to mean bye-bye)
Hey TMK!
TV - Sh!t!! You're right!! Am I an idiot or what? It's close to home and that's where we bought it, but JC, why subject myself to that over and over. Nite Sam
Cluemaster - Sometimes it's as difficult as clue number one, heh??
I don't know about other Chevy dealers out that way - but Mom should.
We live closer to Midway Chev.
I always go to Smith Brothers in Minneapolis.
I know of a good auto repair shop. The guy who runs it once was a little kid playing around here in my grandparents' neighborhood. Now he owns this repair shop and does great work for my family. But it's in Minneapolis :P
Thanks Mom - Is Merit up on Hwy 61?
Nope - Merit is off of I 94 and Century.
But now that you mention hwy 61, there's Polar up that way too.
