2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

I am doing ok other than the fact I might not get to be able to walk the parade :-( Hubby just informed me that we have a prior engagment that night...but now we don't have a sitter for Lisa so I don't know whats happening....As for Lisa she is being an angel tonight and really cute

not allway's the parents fault, the only reason the hospital took my son is because he threatened suicide.

I think it has a lot to do with the disposition of the child/teen its not all the parents but sometimes i wonder if the child is that unhappy where he has to kill his family members to make things better weren't there warning signs? Sorry didn't mean to bring up a contriversal disscussion but being I am about to have 2 children I would have to think that would be the worst thing in the world to have one child die by the hands of another child

I know, I know, it doesn't always have to do with the parenting... It rips at my heart when the mind of anyone is tweaked a bit, and they cannot discern between good and bad. SIGH. All we can do as parents, is our best at loving our babies, and then I guess we cross our fingers at some point, and hope our values and morals made an impact. Letting our kids develop into their own person is the hardest, most unavoidable, and necessary job we have.

they need to make these programs available for kids that are just starting to go bad, problem is they wait too long to help them.

My server just hiccuped... What I wrote is that I hadn't read LLady's post till after I wrote that. I know that when kids get depressed, the family walks on eggshells, and that's only if the family knows what's going on. Some kids are GIFTED at hiding their feelings.

believe me. it hardly qualifies as a gift. i for one am an incredibly tough shell to crack. thank god i have friends who can get through that shell.

i'm looking at having to reinstall my computer from scratch. this will not be fun at all :( stupid cd burning software.

ThoseMedallingKids

Doh, that sucks Ares. I remember having problems with my comp because of cd burning software. Only real problems I've had with it.

well kids i've been having problems with roxio on xp. so i install nero, which came with my cd burner, and the xp patch for it. next thing i know, i've got 1 cd-rom, 1 cd-rw, and 1 dvd-rom drive, and none of them are showing up in explorer and all the devices have been disabled. hopefully i can get through tomorrow without needing them :)

I had problems with real jukebox, needed an xp patch which meant I needed to buy an upgrade in some roxio software I think. I ended up having both my cd and dvd drives on my computer disabled. That was a pain. I just got rid of real jukebox.

Thu, 01/31/2002 - 9:17 PM Permalink
ares

well i actually ended up hosing the device drivers for the cd's. makes it kinda hard to repair the install :)

note to self: your employer wrote the backup software tha comes with xp. use it before doing something stupid!!!!! lol!

my cousin's 3 month old is kinda like that. hold him and rock him back and forth and he's out. stop moving and he wakes up.

I finally figure out my own comp problems, and decide to reward myself by checking in here, only to find more people with comp/music software problems! Atleast kid problems are easily understandable!

yet another joke:

Radio conversation released by the US Chief of Naval Operations 10 Oct 95:

AMERICANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.

CANADIANS: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision

AMERICANS: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

CANADIANS: No, I say again, divert YOUR course.

AMERICANS: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS ENTERPRISE; WE ARE A LARGE WARSHIP OF THE US NAVY. DIVERT YOUR COURSE NOW.

CANADIANS: This is a small Canadian lighthouse. Your call.

This was the transcript of a radio conversation between a US naval ship and Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland.
