Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Just a note before I head out...
There is a world Trade Center in St. Paul. When it first opened it was a mall type of thing with a bunch of shops on the bottom two floors and a large food court on the third floor. They had this cool fountain that would shoot water to various heights, sometimes even all the way to the top floor. But St. Paul seemed to overestimate the retail potential of downtown (a parking problem in my personal opinion) and many of the shops went out of business or relocated (including The Map Store which once resided there). Then Wells Fargo bought the buidling, kicked pretty much everyone out except for a couple of the fast food places on the top floor and turned the whole of what was once the shopping area into one big bank lobby. Some of it is still being remodeled. I'm not sure if it's going to be more office space or if they'll put something like a restaurant in there. But like Town Square and Galtier Plaza, it's just the slightest shadow of what it used to be.
Morning/afternoon all. Music eh? I've heard of Sigur Ros, I want to check them out. They've been likened to Radiohead, who I like. Recommendations from myself? David Gray's "White Ladder" and Moby's "Play".
I don't know the name of it or who sings it besides George Clooney
Clooney doesn't actually sing on the soundtrack. Dan Tyminski(not sure of spelling) sings George's parts of the songs. He's a guitar player with Union Station, as in Alison Krause and Union Station.
This makes me wonder. What different responses cooler crew members would have for questions like "what are some of your favorite music artists", "what movie genre do you like most/what is your favorite movie", "what is your favorite food", "what is your favorite hobby". I think it would be interesting to see how much similarity or difference there is amongst Cooler Heads.
Heck with a survey. We'll just have a question of the day. Today's topic can be "Favorite cd's". Each work day we can have a question that we can discuss.
TMK - I run a question of the day on another board. I am happy to participate in yours. I am going to think about my favorite artists/CDs and post later.
Okay, yeah. We can have a two part question. What is in your cd player now, and what are your favorite cds? Doesn't have to be just one favorite, but can be a collection.
Here of some of my favorites: Sting- Fields of Gold, Sarah McLachlan- Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Moby- Play, David Gray- White Ladder, Queen- Greatest Hits 1 & 2, Various Artists- Pure Moods
Scribe, I'm going to a conference, but have the weekend before to explore. I'm planning on Colonial Wmsbg, the Jamestown settlement, Yorktown(?). Can I do more in 2 days?
I love allison krause...the oh brother how art thou stuff is great too!! My wife would go to that kind of concert with me....she wouldn't go see KISS with me tho....
A must-do?? Gawd the whole place!! One of my favorite places in the whole world! Check out the apothecary shop and George Wythe's house along with the servants(slave) quarters. It really gives you an eye opening perspective on American hisory. Also have an authentic pre-revolutionary dinner although may I recommend you don't go hungry!:)
LOL! I stayed in that Best Western! Actually they had the decor right around the period! Doesn't really matter though, you'll be out and about most of the time anyway! Gotta check out the grave yards and churches!
my son has been watching Veggie tales 'silly songs with larry' for 4 days straight now....he has literally 100 other videos to choose from but...the song with auntie ruth's beard thingy keeps him watching it over and over and over and over
really matter though, you'll be out and about most of the timeanyway!
Exactly! I always think how sad for people who choose a hotel based on amenities when they are going to a place where everything you want to see is outside the hotel. Now, if I were going to a luxury spa . . .

Okay, this song made me think of the discussion from the past few days. I wonder if anyone can off the top of their heads name the artist?

You had to use a search engine though. I wonder if anyone would recognize the song without the use of a search engine though.

So make up a survey TMK

That sounds fun. I can't narrow it down to one favorite CD, so I'm going to play "What's in my CD player right now?"
A: Phil Lesh and Friends, 4/17/99 at the Warfield Theater.
Frosti....you going to go and see allison krause/union station when they come to town here soon??
Okay, yeah. We can have a two part question. What is in your cd player now, and what are your favorite cds? Doesn't have to be just one favorite, but can be a collection.
"Favorite cd's"
So many to choose from!
Off the top of my head I'd say:
The The - "Soul Mining" 1983.
In mine right now....flickerstick-welcoming home the astronauts....decent
Frosti....you going to go and see allison krause/union station when they come to town here soon??
I hadn't heard she was coming. I saw them last time they came through as O'Shaunnesy over at St. Kates. Great show. When are they coming now?

saw it yesterday in city pages...
Here is what's in my 6-CD player right now, and I think it gives a scaringly accurate picture of me.
Hmmm, March 26 according to the Orpheum website. Tempting, very tempting...
Here's a question for everyone. Has anyone ever been to Williamsburg, VA? What is a must-do there?
I have been there twice Dal!
Scribe, I'm going to a conference, but have the weekend before to explore. I'm planning on Colonial Wmsbg, the Jamestown settlement, Yorktown(?). Can I do more in 2 days?

Randy, in general my wife hates my music too.
Only thing she likes is part of my 80's music collection.
I'll definitely do the dinner, apothecary, & Wythe's. I wanted to stay in an old plantation, but instead, am at Ye Olde Best Western. :)
Dal, I would keep it to Williamsburg Colony and either Jamestown(which I prefer) or Yorktown. There is just so much to take in you do need time.
Only thing she likes is part of my 80's music collection.
THX...what 80's part...<perk>
Randy, in general my wife hates my music too.
Amen to that brother.
How big is the Williamsburg Colony? Walkable in 1/2 day, 1 day?
