Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Ahres, wait until you have a 5 & 7 year old come to you (with innocent eyes of course) and say "The computers not working".
nt/w2000/xp differentiate between an administrator and a normal user :) most of the time mere users can't do anything that can damage the system. guess who never logs in as a normal user on his computer???
When I put the burner in my computer, I expected at least a couple hours, start to finish. The instructions and photos were very clear: 10 minutes tops.
I put a burner in my son's computer, and after two hours on two days, it's not right, but it works.
On Christmas eve, I put one in my brother-in-law's computer. His came with different software (I think it's one you have) and I had a hell of a time. Ends up it was there, he forgot where he installed it.
oh this is perfect. i've got an "unknown disk" which doesn't contain a windows 2000 or windows xp compatible partition. well. looks like i'm off to buy a 36 gig ibm scsi disc tomorrow morning and to send this one back to ibm for a replacement at the same time!
evenin' ll. here's what i remember of what's going on (i didn't pay much attention as i'm not gonna be partaking in the festivities): wild thyme (don't know the location) before the parade. anywhere between 1 and 3 starting time (don't remember which), the buttery afterward.
this computer is frustrating me. thankfully i've got me enough hardware to swap around till i find the ultimate cause of the problem :(
Well after slogging (and there wasn't much to slog) I have come to the conclusion that not much happened tonight since I left....and since it seems everyone else has gone to bed for the night I might as well try to get some sleep (if you know who actually stays asleep I don't know whats wrong with her this week....UGH)
yeppers. why? (no this isn't an operating system problem. its an i was too lazy to do something the right way problem, and as a result hosed my system) :)
I have no idea. I haven't heard from her.
I got an Ice Palace book, 1939 button, 1940 button, and two 1942 buttons.
Too rich for my blood Ian.....I'm used to finding that stuff for a buck or two at estates sales.Especially one that recent.
I got an Ice Palace book, 1939 button, 1940 button, and two 1942 buttons for $13.00
Shut UP!
The auction was listed twice, not reaching the reserve price. I was high bidder both times, and the guy offered it to me for that bid.
Whacha gonna do with two 1942 buttons?
Everyone who is waiting for the carnival CD:
Marley King will have them tomorrow.
Whacha gonna do with two 1942 buttons?
sell, of course. Those were all extras, you know.
How much?
well, for you I'll make a special deal.
LOL! Ian!
well ian, ya know that backup software that comes with the os??? well i'm putting it to use now cuz i can't install on the original disc! :((((
really, I don't wanna say here, but similar to what THX paid. How's that ?
Your whatzit can't do what to the whozit?
hmmmm Let me discuss this with my commrades heir Ian.....
i'm putting it to use now
bummer
OK, Scribe
scribe, i did something stupid to my computer last nite and now i can't get the @#$%%&*() cd rom drives to work. in a nutshell.
and no smart-arsed comments about being a man i inherently do stupid things :)
The place my son is bowling tomorrow is called Red River Lanes Casino Lounge . Does anyone know if there is gambling in Fargo ??

Ares, like you're a normal user....
nt/w2000/xp differentiate between an administrator and a normal user
Between you and me, I was able to install on my work machine even thought I don't have admin rights.
Explain that one to me?
most of the time mere users can't do anything that can damage the system. guess who never logs in as a normal user on his computer???
You'll never be a "mere user" to me.
Well, movies started and Scribe's yelling at me to come watch.
Later & MCL ya'll
of course not. no fun being restricted as to what i can do!
well since i heard a sound from the disc i didn't like its time to dig out the scsi low level format and start from scratch. all the way from scratch!
later thx.
Was that a "yes dear" I heard coming from the Scribe residence?
thats what it sounded like to me. that guy has got to get his priorities straightened out :)
Naw, he probably does have his priorities straight. They're probably like this, in this order:
That's right. If you don't keep the woman of the house happy...ain't nobody happy!
notice how keeping scribe happy is higher on the list than providing for the family!
Providing for the family is one part of keeping her happy.
If you don't keep the woman of the house happy...ain't nobody happy!
yeah. forgot about that rule. if she ain't happy, you ain't happy! and if she ain't happy long enough you're gonna be unhappy with half your stuff!
Exactly!

Ares - Computers are wonderful things. Wouldn't you just love throwing it out the window though every now and again?!?!
oh yeah ter. definitely!
evenin heads!
does anyone know what is going on for tomorrow? I would slog and try to find out for myself but there is too many to slog through!
Hi LL!
I haven't paid much attention to all that while slogging as we'll be busy up to about parade time and then have dinner plans with some friends.
evenin' ll. here's what i remember of what's going on (i didn't pay much attention as i'm not gonna be partaking in the festivities): wild thyme (don't know the location) before the parade. anywhere between 1 and 3 starting time (don't remember which), the buttery afterward.

Ares - I hope the problem gets solved soon.
I'm going to check out for the night. Got a few things to finish up here and then it's lights out.
Goodnight and MCL!!
so do i, ter. i'd like to go to bed tonite knowing exactly what i have to replace tomorrow!
ares, is windows XP (professional version) the one you are using in your puter?
