green, here's what eags wrote to us over there. still, it somehow felt like barging into someone else's home and hollering "honey, i'm home". and it was slow. thx did some nosing around and this is what he came up with. and i think we have a shot at turning ths sysop into a medallion hunter, albeit one from california.

And the answer, to my way of thinking, is YES!!! I think that's why each of us have made a point of saying "Welcome" as new posters post.

There aren't many posts here each day, and I believe it would make for more of a conversant tone if some new friends find their way here.

I hope you won't feel we were trying to be exclusive. That was never the intent. The privately-funded board wasn't meant to be "the other" medallion hunt board but just a group of people who agreed between ourselves that we enjoy chatting here enough that we would fund it ourselves, if necessary. We were frustrated with the lack of response from the PP sysop at the time, and needed a "safer" place where we wouldn't have to be afraid of sharing some details of our lives so we could truly get to know one another.

And, this got started long before we'd met y'all. So, please, know that you are VERY welcome here. You're only a newbie the first time you post.

What I meant to say in my last post was that the privately-funded board got started several years ago among a few of those who were already posting during the Chair-o-key Park hunt, and who were doing some things socially about once a month or so. Those activities were also posted on the coolercrew.com site when they were at public places.

The privately-funded board just reverted to this web-crossing site a few weeks ago...right about the time the 2002 hunt was getting started, at which time, almost everyone was using the PP board anyway, since that was the forum there...medallion hunt postings.

So we haven't been HERE all that long.

Marley's feeling were kinda hurt, as this is the first group (besides family and friends) that he's felt apart of.

DDY,Eags,Terry and a few others were paying for a site to chat on all year round. It too got shut down, so DDY set up a free site @ the beginning of the hunt, just a dozen or so people- but most also chat at PP. We found it after the PP shut down while trying to find a new home. A few of us posted, and were welcomed, but decided this would be a faster forum that could handle a large amount of posts, so the majority have been here.
We've all sent mail to the hunters in our address books, so hopefully everyone will make it here.

Even the Ninjas have made it!

i'll be here for a bit longer, marley. but i'll be back later tonite, so email away. which os are you using? if that doesn't work, i'll have a look at my brother's 'puter, which i had been using and lurking with as well to see what files i can pull out of his cache.

of course, artemis, i had to pull the clowns out of hiding to get them in here :) and i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who feels about groups the same way i do! lol!

Using Windows ME, i tried yesterday by going to my history file, that days files, and found all the webx links, but each one I clicked on brought me to that stupid Twincities.com redirect page.

That was before we had you're directions- I will try again using your directions, and get back to you.

After MomPress took away the icons, a bunch o'folks went "north" - Terry, Eags, Mom/Dad, DDY, MJ, etc.

I refused to leave MomPress, and it kind'a left me alone - but for check-in's during The Hunt by the rest o'the original group...

If not, don't feel like the Lone Rangers! LOL!!! Folks I've considered fiends for five years now - and would not know each other as they do but for The First Annual Re-Hash Bash - never told ME about the pay-for-view site; nor did they invite me.

I never got an email from Eags - nor anyone else, for that matter - enlisting me, asking me to come along, to join in... Or even saying I barged in...

Thank gods I didn't. I would have felt I belonged and then been embarassed that I'd not been included.

I find it sad that the entire premise of The Cooler Crew - what's the word I want? I'll remember it at 3:00 AM tomorrow... - was tossed aside by/with that forum...

I'm afraid I can't be the one to say who should post what and when. As long as it is not overly offensive or attacking anyone I believe that you should post what you want when you want.

I'm the one that got the entire Cooler Crew thighy off the ground with a silly idea o'a pic-o-nic ("BooBoo!") in Chair-O-Key Park! The rest is history.

Imagine for just a sec how *I* feel. I've lost quite a bit in the last couple o'weeks... I've lost the originally Cooler...

And I'm watching a great group o'folks that share a wonderful passion for Med Hunting splinter in to fractions and different parks.

This is painful for me. Very much so. Ittiz like groups/camps/fractions... And that's not how the commeraderie (sp?) had kind'a set things up like. (sigh)

However, realistically... Even with different camps and fractions, all can be Cooler Crew folks. Yup. Not the nice warm fuzzies that started this all off five years ago, but still...

Med Hunters are a group among themselves. And we're all family, no matter what...

Nobuddy else would have us! :D

First please accept apologies for any miscommunication and misunderstandings. That has never been intentional.

Looks like lots and lots of clarification needs to be made here.

As Eags explained and was posted here, there was a time that some of us went to a different site as there were some nasty things happening at the PP site. That's been a number of years ago now. At the time, the link to that site was put posted on the PP site numerous times in the old Shoot the Breeze board. Anyone around at the time had ample opportunity to check it out.

Green - you refused to leave the PP site. It's not that you were not invited.

About a year ago, the cost of hosting that site was shared by those who used it...and the site was moved to a new server.

Green – you always indicated that you wouldn’t leave the PP site. After inviting you several times, you still refused. How many times were we to ask? I personally was hurt that you felt more loyalty to a discussion board than to people who considered you a friend. You disappeared only to be seen during the hunt.

Early this year, in moving that site again to a different server and a different hosting organization (the old one was sold out), there was some issues that I won't go into here...but Dave Young set up what was thought to be a temporary board.

When I gave the link to the world crossing site, I fully expected and wanted you all to find the cooler crew site. I just found it amazing that you found it so quickly. I was just hopeful that the Mr. News types wouldn’t. That was the ONLY reason I didn’t give the direct link. If I hadn’t wanted you to find it, why would I give the link to the world crossing site? It obviously wasn’t too hard to find the board.

I am deeply troubled that anyone would think that intentions were to be anything other than welcoming. I think of you all as friends. I enjoy the time I’ve spent with you immensely. There isn’t one of you that I wouldn’t have at my home – just don’t think this place is big enough for everyone at once!

Again, I’m truly sorry for any misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

terry, even though it did feel weird at first, the warm welcome on worldcrossing was very much appreciated. and quite frankly, i would have moved over there if thx hadn't found this. for me this is a lot more responsive than worldcrossing is, and i shall stay here because of that. if we are to discuss the medallion hunt every january, forums.realcities.com won't cut it, and i fear that worldcrossing.com won't do either, based on what i've seen of it. rest assured that i will occasionally pop my head in on the other places people have found.

pizza hut. not exactly my favorite, but it'll do in a jam when delivery of the 'za is required. it seems my house is stuck in the middle of a delivery dead zone! why can't papa john's extend their delivery area 6 blocks to the east????? ok so that's my second criteria for moving anywhere. dsl and papa john's delivery. work from home, order the 'za on line, have it delivered and never leave the house except for the famous 2 weeks in january!

Isn't that always the way? They look sooo good in the comercials, but end up disapointing. I had a similar experience with the new Taco bell thingys (similar to pizones). Found out we could make better ones ourselves!

Lol Ares! My favorite Pizza (in this state) is Pizza Luce's- bianca sauce with garlic and chicken breast, olives, onions, and mushrooms! MMM! There's a couple in the T.C., and they just opened one up in Duluth- close enough to the cabin to make the drive.

Ares - we too are in a 'za delivery deadzone.

The only options here are Dominoes, Pizza Factory and a John's Pizza Cafe that makes what Inks calls froo-froo pizzas and are higher buck.

We often get deliver from Pizza Factory...the works complete with sauerkraut! The best!
