I like the specialty pizza's, olive oil sauce instead of tomato sauce is my preference, but don't get my way unless its just the 2 of us. Marley's dad is pickier than I am.
I believed for a long time that northern lights was a figment of someone else's imagination as I had never gotten lucky enough to see them.
During the Leonid meteor shower in August of 2000, after staying up till 3am watching the meteors and hoping for some auroral activity, I went to bed disappointed. Two hours later our upnorth neighbor called and told us to get out and look up. The sky was filled with beautiful rays and a corona. The show continued up until the sun came up. I was awestruck and am now hooked.
There's software that I have purchased that actually gives aurora storm watches and warnings. With that help, I've gotten lucky a few times since.
The next step will be to learn to photograph light displays.
that's an impressive pic of it if i may say so! i've only had the luxury of seeing it once, driving north on us53 i believe towards wausau, wi, 10 years or so ago for my one of my cousin's weddings. needless to say, being the city dweller that i am, i was rather impressed!
Ares - I've lived in the city all of my life - and I'm more than twice your age.
Inks is from west central Minnesota so we've had numerous trips out that way but had never been lucky enough to catch a display.
About 2 years ago we bought a place up north and with that I determined that I would - come hades or high water - see the northern lights. It took almost a full year, the software - and some misses - and then finally the ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
Every display is different. Some more red, others almost colorless, others green. Some are all over the sky and others just a bit over the horizon. I've been known to head north out of the city to see displays and go into work with only a couple hours of sleep.
guess again. while the whole number may be 24, the part after the decimal point is more like .9, which puts you slightly under half my age (at least according to what yahoo is saying about you :) but who cares about technicalities anyway?
the display i saw was more toward the green side of things if i remember it correctly. and i take it back, that trip was about 6 years ago.
ya know, up until last march, the extent of my travels outside the twin cities was pretty much a few trips to mankato when i was a wee little kid, after one of my mom's friends moved there, a trip to the legionville school patrol camp outside brainerd between 5th and 6th grade, several trips to my grandparents' home on the north shore in tofte (once extended to thunder bay when i was a baby so it doesn't count), and a couple of trips towards wausau. i'd add in several trips to treasure island, but for how short that trip really is, red wing is part of the twin cities in my book! to that travel log, you can add the stretch on i-4 and i-95 from orlando to subbase king's bay in georgia (about 3 miles north of the georgia-florida border), and you've got the total extent of my travels!
hmm. northern lites hunting, medallion hunting. sounds a lot like med hunting! and i must say, the one nite this year i was down at the pp, and came home only to slog and chat till 2, those 4 hours of sleep were the best i'd had in a very long time!
well, since me2 isn't here to give me my green caffeine pills (m&m's), i'm gonna have to go raid the candy dish myself on the way to bed. nite all, mcl, scd's.
I've been looking for some David Bowie music on morpheus, but not finding what I'm looking for, plus I always seem to be re-connecting. Wondering about dif programs.
Why do you have two logins? I understand you have two computers, but why not use the same login on each one? It seems unnecessarily complicated to have two, and I can imagine some hassles that could come from it (missed messages, etc.).
And FYI- Audiogalaxy is pretty great for music downloading. I've heard they use "spyware" of some sort, to monitor your internet activity, but it's worth it to me.
Marley borrowed his bro's lap top, and signed in on his browser- wouldn't let him use marley king (cuz of different e-mail address?)so he signed up again w- marley king1. (Did this at work and brought it home w/him)
He keeps getting frozen-up or he woulda told you himself.
Well, settled for Domino's....have to try to keep everyone happy!
now to wait...
froo-froo pizzas???? ok.
Used To LOOOVE Pizza Factory's Junk Pizza! Haven't had one in years! (mouth watering...)
They do specialty stuff - basil and dill sauces instead of the usual tomato - and some more unique toppings. They also do "regular" pizzas.
Artemis - Pizza Factory junk pizza is good, heh?
Where in Duluth is that Pizza Luce place?
ter, what exactly is your image an image of?
Aurora Borealis - my other passion/obsession.

I like specialty pizzas as well - but Inks is just a regular pizza kind of guy. I have to save the specialty pizzas when it's just me and a friend.
We saw the NL from our land this fall and it was absolutely spectacular! I felt like I was in a mauve dome. I love star/sky gazing, even more so up N!
I think the Pizza Luce is in canal park, but haven't been there yet. I keep hearing the commercials on the radio up there.

That number will soon be flipping over here to the mid century mark. So unless you turn 25 by June, I'm double your age.
I can hardly believe it's this late already. I was sure it was closer to 10. Geez!
WOW...what an afternoon/evening we've had. My power went out at the time of my last post (4:15 ?) and just came back on at 11:00
Hey Ian!
Do you have snow up that way?
terry, it happens in march. but like i said, who's counting?
not really...very very light
Certainly NOT me!
Except that I have children that are in their 20's, I wouldn't feel a day or two older than 25 or maybe 30.

He keeps getting frozen-up or he woulda told you himself.
I think audiogalaxy is great.
Marley:
Do you have, or did you used to have AOL? If so, I think I know why you have netscape problems on your website.
Where'd everyone go ?
