Crafty-Was She a dog-sledding dog? Friends of mine have a similar looking dog,who used to be a sled dog. They got her at 2 yrs, and she is the sweetest nicest thing, but strangly doesn't like the cold and snow.
My parents were hunting before I was born and were warming themselves by a fire with other folks and the medallion was found there in the remains of the fire the next morning. :(
Too close, but not close enough... but not as close as you! :)
Everyone must be out enjoying this beauty of a February day! I just got out of a tree with my chainsaw. I must have looged off when the wolf questions came in. Sorry Crafty. My hubby had just come home from a 2 day foray on lake Mille Lacs, and I needed to bond.
I just finished my "daily slog" The telemarketer stories were great! I have had more than my share of calls. I like to give them a hard time, too. Once I answered a call, and my oldest son started yelling "Who are you talking to, Woman?" "I told you to stay off the damn phone" I followed his lead, and started apologising, fake crying, and the like. Matt then yelled "Are you talking to your old boyfriend"? And in a fit of fake tears, I pleaded with him to not hit me, and we vehemently hung up the phone. We had a good laugh, Matt, Dad, and me.... BUT LATER we were watching the tube, the doorbell rang... My honey got up to answer it, And there were 2 policemen at the door. They asked what was going on, and by that time we had forgotten about the sick "joke" we played on the telemarketer, but they demanded to see if I was ok. We explained the dumb thing we did, and they said that the call came from Arizona that a man was beating up a girl, and gave the police our number, and it took 4 hours for the various authorities to find our house. They sternly scolded us for doing that, but were chuckling the whole time. Needless to say, I am much more aware of the awful pranks I play on telemarketers...
I just love these stories! I'm really gonna have to try one of these on quest! I pay for an unlisted number and these jerks call me at least 20 times a month! what am I paying for here!
That is so you can buy that service that prevents telemarketers from calling... only they found a loophole, and are no longer calling themselves telemarketers, they are now coming up with creative terms like "industry survey research networks" and "marketing planners" so they can call you anyway.
Finally made it here to check in! Just got my internet access back full time yesterday
<whew!>....I did have the benefit of a couple of dial up accounts till the cable was installed at our new house, but not very much time to use them anyway.
We are getting settled in at the new place, little by little. The movers came last Saturday to move all the BIG stuff, and we've been working on the little stuff ever since.
I'm not sure if we'll be able to make the pre-mockhunt deal or not. We have some childcare in the morning for some moving of junk time - have to see if we can work something in for the afternoon as well.
Too cool about the competition, Scribe!! Hope you didn't let the clipboards get to you too much!
I should go sit downstairs for a bit with Dad - I will probably check in again before bedtime...
I like the name tags, I think you used em at the Como Re-hash,and it was easier!
Making note of that idea! I'll probably lose the note, but maybe I'll remember that I had a note to lose.
It must have been a spotter! Didn't we just know they would want to get in on the fun?
Hello ladies
And it probably makes it easier to put faces and names together. Visual learning is easier for most people.
Hey Ian!
Crafty-Was She a dog-sledding dog? Friends of mine have a similar looking dog,who used to be a sled dog. They got her at 2 yrs, and she is the sweetest nicest thing, but strangly doesn't like the cold and snow.
Hello Ian!
So what neighborhood in St. Paul are you from before you headed for Lakeville, Crafty?
I've neen trying to e-mail Mike, but it keeps getting bounced back.
Hi Ian!
Thanks for trying though!
or should I say she found us.
That's so cool! It was meant to be...
My parents were hunting before I was born and were warming themselves by a fire with other folks and the medallion was found there in the remains of the fire the next morning. :(
Too close, but not close enough... but not as close as you! :)
That's a nice area out there.
Perhaps we crossed paths during that hunt.
I grew up in the Midway/Frogtown area and still reside in the neighborhood.
But she's healthy and happy now!
My parents still live there, so we're up to St. Paul often. Also, my 2 brothers live in Woodbury and 1 sister in Roseville.
We've probably crossed paths on many of the hunts, but wouldn't have know it.
That's one of the nice things about the medallion hunt. I've never met a hunter - ceptin' one or two - that I didn't like!
Too close, but not close enough... but not as close as you! :)
There should be a collection of peoples hunting stories! It would make a good coffee table book!
And the title of that book?
Nothing to Show for it but Cold Feet?
"The one that got away"
"Too many sad tales..."
It's not if you found the medallion, just if you were in the right park"
I like that last one! It's soooo true!!
LMAO- it should include all of the above! A collection of SHORT storys!
Very good, Artemis!!!
Short by a mile...short by a foot...short by inches...
Short by a park or two!
Hehehehehehehehehe! Too funny!
Short is short.

for some reason that year sounds coincidental ?
