marley you stay up way too late :)

yeah. my brother, a buddy of ours and i actually own the car, my cousin drives it. we're the 969 car, and have been as long as brian's been driving it.

and ian, its purely coincidence that its a '77. the body and frame are '77, the engine, tranny, and driveshaft are from a '76 olds delta 88. the car lasted 7 laps last race before brian rear-ended someone and took out the radiator and fan. we didn't make the last race as my cousin was about 9 months pregnant for it :) we did do the trailer race though, and hereis the pic i took of it.

yes! there's still a certain mystique to me!

steve, i believe its been stated that the clues will appear either here or in the mock hunt thread.

If you're still a member of the Allison Wonderland Yahoo club and you have a valid email on your Yahoo profile, then you should get them sent to you in the mail. Otherwise you can find them posted on my site or I will post them here in the Mock Hunt thread. So you should be able to get it one of those ways. The only thing is tonight's clue, I'm not sure when it will come out exactly because I'll be at the pre-hunt party at 7pm. So it may not appear online until a little later tonight.

Ares, the trailer races are hilarious! Have you ever raced your Camaro in the spectater races? So is your cousin one of the few F drivers out there, or was it your cousins wife that was pregnant? We've both driven in demo derbys, but you wouldn't catch me in the enduro's! Marley would like to but values his body/life! Its like a high speed demo derby out there! So he'll stick to the pit and I'll stick to score keeping, and definatly plan on doing the county fair demolition derbys this year!

HIDEY HO!!! Who wants to share their most memorable stories from their various hunts? I would LOVE to compile a book, sell it at..say..$14.95 at ruminator.... No, actually, I do know a publisher, and I've been published before, and could possibly put together a book... Of course there's the possibility that WE will be the only ones to buy it.... Hi, Lance. How about this day????? Feb. WHAT???? The birds are building nests already.

Oh! Man! I get SOOOO frustrated! I'm looking at real estate out in Washington,(again)and I get so ticked off when the reators describe the property as a "manufactured home" and it turns out to be a trailer. I've seen some sweet man. homes, and we want ceiling height close to a regular frame house, but I fear I waste soooo much time with these misleading ads. Aaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh!

Artemis The Huntress

I only make special things on special days! Otherwise Marley does most of the cooking. Today its Fabulous Ferns!

You are a published author? With a Wolf named Hannah. You keep getting more interesting by the post!

I don't think it would be hard to put a book together. Just have to gather peoples stories, and there's alot of em!

Sun, 02/17/2002 - 6:27 AM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

I've done alot of looking at real estate ads, but mostly in SW. I love looking at the ads and info, but you really need to see it yourself, or have someone look for you, to knowif its what it says

I think my "interestingness" could be a facade... Yes, I do have a wolf, and she had enriched and ruined my life. I got a cheesy article published in In Fisherman. I know publishers, but only because they are really rewarding as friends. I hope to say my life is interesting, I live for today, and don't want any regrets if I was to be told "you only have 24 hours to live". I do, however, as I get older have a bigger "safety net" than I used to. I wish my hubby cooked more often.... when he does, it's deer meat, which I will not eat.:)

I don't even know where Ferns is... But I don't trust myself to "know when to say when" and am kind of a homebody. I've got a roast in the oven, and am comitted to getting the geraniums and begonias I've been wintering ready to do their spring thing.Besides, does Fern allow wolves?

Sun, 02/17/2002 - 6:42 AM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

HeHe! It would be interesting to see a wolf in Ferns!

MMM love roast!

I try to do some gardening, but don't have much of a green thumb. I keep trying though...

This early spring weather, while I LOVE IT, makes me worried a bit. What if we get nailed with a snowstorm in June or something?

Sun, 02/17/2002 - 6:59 AM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

Well, I should really get going so I can get to Ferns.

It was good chatting w/you KT! I'll catch you later tonight or tomorrow. :)

I grew up in Ely, and HAVE seen snow in June. As a matter of fact I was commenting to my DH that today was warmer than some entire Junes that I remember! I know what you mean, tho... I will keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. And I don't have a green thumb. I bumble my way through trying to keep these geraniums alive each winter, it's supposed to be so easy.... Only this year I remembered to water them. Case in point... I have a compost box, and put nearly everything in it, including the ashes from my fire pit. I lovingly re-potted all my bigger houseplants last spring, using that compost, thinking I was doing them this huge justice... WELL! All those plants started dying this past fall, and I realised that the ashes turned into lye, killing my plants! heheh. (and our forefathers used this stuff to wash with?)

Hiyall!

Hope y'all had a fabulous time at Fern's this evening! Really wished we could have gone, but it was not to be. We really needed to turn our attentions to cleaning out the old house, and ran into some difficulties there.

By the time we were finally able to sit/relax it was 7:30. And now I'm trying to finish up laundry. So far, at least the kids are cooperating...

Allison - bring on the clue!!

Hello Everyone!

Had a nice time at Fabulous Fern's. They've got some very good food there and it's a nice atmosphere. I'd only been there once before some years back so I couldn't remember much about how it was inside. We were there with Allison an hour or so before others got there, but had to leave before anyone else did. I wonder if they're still there. No posts yet from Allison with the clue.

Mom - Sorry you didn't make it.

Gotta keep slogging. BBL

Just for fun I'll post the clue here as well:

1. The hunt has begun and the shining of the Sun
Hath turned the snows of winter into a big muddy bath
In the parks of St. Paul you’d best be careful as you run
Seeking the treasure that lies off of the beaten path.

Morning all! Sorry to have missed Fern's. We got back late from our weekend up north. I tried snowboarding for the first time on Saturday, and I'm still taking ibuprofin today because of it. So I was not up for going out last night. The hunt is on!

Hey Frosti, I was thinking of snowboarding myself...daughter wants to take it up and I got interested...so you hurt, eh? hmmmm just means you have proof that you tried! Did you rent a board? Where did you do it? Will you do it again?

No Bailey's AW. I actually have a headache and only had 1 drink last night...still recovering? I did not realize it was that late when we left last night, I though it was still like 9 pm, I guess when we got there at 7 time just flew.

You can see from when I posted the clue online that it wasn't until after 10 that I got home. And I thought I was going to be home by 8:30.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:11 AM Permalink
Frosti

Yes, I do have proof that I tried. I've got a nice pair of matching bruises on my knees! We were up in Alexandria for the weekend, and went to Andes Tower Hills ski area. I rented a board and fooled around with it for about an hour and a half. Then I decided I needed a lesson. Things went much better after the lesson, but I still ended up down on the snow a lot.

Will I do it again? Ask me after the pain goes away! LOL

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:13 AM Permalink
me2

What did it cost you to rent it and a lesson?

Did the ski place say that snowboarding has picked up in the past week because of the Olympics?

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:18 AM Permalink
Frosti

They didn't say anything about a change in business because of the olympics.

Let's see, I think the rental was $30 and the one hour lesson was $10. For comparison, ski rental for runningchick was $25, and a ski lesson for her would have been $4 if she had taken one. I haven't rented skis in the cities for a long time, so I don't know how this compares. But the snowboard will probably cost you more than skis. They also charged an additional $5 if you wanted to switch from snowboard to skis.
