Noodle the clues here if you wish

We need another phone line (or dsl) then we'd be set! Usually don't have a problem, only during "hunting" season!

MK,

It's day four and the satellites aren't projecting any coordinates. The coin is not broadcasting. #1-5 are projecting in a tepee shape (Mystic Lake ?). #6-7 are inactive. #8-12 seem to be hidden or on the farm.

Plan B:

The buzzard swoops at 6:30 pm Thursday.

Darn, Conway was looking good but this water clue is changing my mind.

Dang it all, what am I supposed to do with all this white stuff around? I don't like it, it's icky. Can we have a do-over on the hunt? It's like, not fair, with all this white stuff getting in our way.

tell me about it kids. its like february. we're not supposed to have this stuff around.

All I can say is that Allison clue distinctly does not say "water" it says Hydrogen Hydroxide. This could be implying water in another form such as ice or steam. I think that a steam spring or an ice rink cannot be ruled out yet for the meaning behind this clue.

Frosti

So you're saying that Allison is splitting hairs, because hydrogen hydroxide can be in any of the three states, solid, liquid or gas? Interesting. That twicky wabbit!

Good choice cluemaster

whazzup YO?

Couldn't you technically say now that all the parks would be in the running with the hydrogen hydroxide clue, since all the parks have snow in them, and snow I believe is a form of hydrogen hydroxide.

Thu, 02/21/2002 - 1:40 AM Permalink
Frosti

True, but we didn't have snow when Allison was writing the clues. Unless he's making them up as he goes along. Allison?

I don't truly believe that every park is in the running. I'm just thinking that he's using a fancy schmancy way of saying there is a river or lake near/in the park

I agree. He didn't say water, b/c water doesn't rhyme with carbon monoxide.

when Allison was writting the clues he was probably watching U2 perform at the Super Bowl. Could it be in a park with a football field??

Good noodleing kids about the different states of H2O.

In clue #2 Why does he say "remember" the disc??

carbon monoxide = box car on meid

My guesses so far:

Clue #1 St Paul, in a remote part of a park
#2 some strange U2 reference_ great clue cause it could be many things if you guess right
#3 misleads us to think IM, but says covered in sod or dirt?? or by a monument or cemetary -Old Jewish cemetary(Jews/pharaohs??) by prosperity park???
#4 water reference, maybee traffic light or remote park

The clue in the first paragraph is the "key" to the treasure. The letter "k" appears once in the paragraph. The letter "e" nine times, and the letter "y" 8 times. Picture 198 at www.treasurehunt.8m.com portrays Tilden Park and the swingset.

o-kaaayyy. Anyone counting up all the letters in this year's clues yet?

Absolutely not. I'm just gauging the depth of your potential deviousness. :)

(I know you like number-y clues, though) :)

Last year the first letter of each line of the clue (AIFI), if converted to numbers where A=1, B=2, etc, became 1969, the year it was found in a spot you could see from Linwood as referenced in the clue.

Alison your a a sneaky..... good clues!
It is to hard to go from sit to sit on this work connection to look up other web sites, a major pain during the other hunt.

Here is today's clue:

5. Could you be grumpy because your dinner was lumpy?
Maybe this clue is one way to put your mind at ease.
Hidden amongst terrain that might be called bumpy
Consider taking as your guide a group of fir trees.

And here are the previous clues:

4. At the treasure’s site you’ll find traffic is light
So you needn’t worry much about carbon monoxide.
But whether searching by day or hunting by night
It’s best to stay near plenty of hydrogen hydroxide.

3. It was not the fate of Pharaohs to lie in barrows
As such a burial was not appropriate to their worth.
But if by comparison one is as poor as the sparrows
Then try looking for something covered with earth.

2. If your thoughts are strewn and you’re in a swoon
And you worry, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”
Remember the disc but try changing your tune
And you too may find the stash you’ve been yearning for.

1. The hunt has begun and the shining of the Sun
Hath turned the snows of winter into a big muddy bath
In the parks of St. Paul you’d best be careful as you run
Seeking the treasure that lies off of the beaten path.
