Noodle the clues here if you wish

Artemis The Huntress

for another noble's domain I like Maryland because Mary Queen of Scots=noble and land would be a domain.

I liked that too...except now this wee lock thing seems to knock that out of the running.

Except!

Wheelock and Maryland meet up at Como!

There's a stone wall thing in sight at both the "entrance" to the road at one end of the lake and there's another stone wall going in the other direction.

Terry

As you face the lake from Wheelock/Maryland, the road to the left is one way. The other one is two way.

Allison - I wonder what you dream about at night -but then I probably don't want to know.

You sure have us all over the place. Good job with these clues - I think. :-)

Goodnight, SCDs, MCL and dreams of hunting to all!

If I could be so bold...

If you count how many days until SPD, it would be 21 from the date posted. Pg 21 shows:

a couple of bird baths

a one way st

a green box around a fountain and roof of clubhouse

pine trees to the West, South & East

large hill

...

The park itself has a lot of what was already noodled

Weelock/Maryland, Stonewall, Churchill, traffic light...

Good blackjack noodle CM!It does look good, we walked around the frog pond area, and drove around the rest of the park this afternoon and again tonight.

In that same area is a "Star Spangled Banner" (clue 2) But I think there might be the same at BC and Phalen

Good morning ATH -

Nice to see that you're up. I'm used to noodling with a guy from New Zealand during the regular hunt. He's originally from here but on-line during his work day down there. Nice to see clear noodles at 4AM.

"Star Spangled Banner"

Star spangled banner=american flag, there was a flag flying when we were there in the aftn.

I remember the guy from New Zealand, I noodled a few times with him too.

Mornin Ian!

Why a flag?

Artemis The Huntress

Isn't that what the "star spangled banner" is about? Its on the U2 Rattle and Hum CD. Just another song possibility.

I'm actually going to get some sleep so I can get out and do some searching! G'night CM :)

Maryland also runs just south of Phalen!

Sun, 02/24/2002 - 10:13 PM Permalink
ares

where its incredibly close to wheelock.

Sun, 02/24/2002 - 10:34 PM Permalink
Frosti

I think Wheelock actually is about 100 feet short of intersecting with Maryland. Johnson Parkway comes up from the South, and then mysteriously becomes Wheelock if you go west, and East Shore Drive if you go east.

Sun, 02/24/2002 - 10:38 PM Permalink
ares

that it does, frosti.

Sun, 02/24/2002 - 10:42 PM Permalink
Terry

Good Morning!

I dreamt about finding the medallion - in the state of Maryland! UGH!!!

Maryland is a few blocks south of Wheelock in the Phalen area. Wheelock runs to the lake - but then isn't Wheelock any longer and becomes Johnson Pkwy.

Maryland and Wheelock actually cross paths at the east end of Como Lake.

Off and running to another fun-filled Monday at the grind.

Good luck to those able to hunt today!

marley, even though i know its scottish and not irish, you're gonna love this one: wee lock, how about wee loch, meaning loeb lake :)

St. patricks day the 17th,page 17 of the thg youll se larry ho,at bc there is larry ho drive.

what's nice is that it wouldn't surprise me if the irish word for lake wasn't similar to loch.

Anyone find it yet?

not yet, thx. but the psychic powers across the board are kicking into high gear.

I haven't. I did drive through Phalen and around Conway yesterday afternoon. Lots of stone walls at Phalen...

Sun, 02/24/2002 - 11:55 PM Permalink
ares

anything you like at either place, frosti?

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 12:24 AM Permalink
Frosti

Lots I like at both places. I've had Conway in the back of my head since about clue #3, and Phalen since #7. I would have gotten out and wandered, but I had the kiddos and they weren't dressed for being outside in that cold wind yesterday.

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 12:33 AM Permalink
ares

heck i wasn't dressed for being out in the cold at im yesterday either. and i've been paying the price for that stupidity too :)

I'm gonna do a once over on the frog pond at Como.If it's not there I quit!:)

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 1:20 AM Permalink
Frosti

Hey, I don't know what jogged my memory on this but. Did anybody lose two full beers at Phalen during the PP hunt? I was out there on Thursday before it was found (after I had been at Merriam earlier that night) and found two unopened bottles of beer, not even frozen. They're in my basement. Tell me the brand and you can claim them!

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 1:24 AM Permalink
ares

mornin' scribey. you can quit now, cuz i don't think its at the frog pond. :)

you sure they didn't freeze, frosti?

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 1:30 AM Permalink
Frosti

One had just started to crystalize a little tiny bit, but the other was clear as can be.

Anyone been out tp Phalen today?

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 2:38 AM Permalink

Not I, though I've heard there are some people out there right now.

I think I'll swing by on my lunch hour. AW, I know that there is more to these clues than I am catching on to right now.

I've noticed an awful lot of double letters again this year, but I just can't find what I'm looking for.

Mon, 02/25/2002 - 2:53 AM Permalink
Clue Master

Scribe - You're right I'm sure. It's gotta be in the stone wall surrounding the frog pond.

Frosti - Were they Lienie Red's? Although I doubt that I've ever misplaced my beer or anyone else's for that matter. burp.

Joe to come.....

On your mark...

Get set...

On my way in this morning I drive right by the east side of IM, there are two seperate distinct trees on that end of the park, one of them kinda looks like the Joshua tree, the other is big, and is kinda seperate from the others. The only thing wrong there is that its the east side of the park, right along 61. so...lots of traffic. But clue 3 is such an obvious referance to mounds, maybe too obvious?
