Just got in from the Hall & Oats concert. And some after hours activities as well. burp. It looks like I saved some Frostbite by staying warm 2 night. My clan advised me that I should stay in tonight to save myself from getting the flu and a DWI.

I think they might of been right by all the edit's I've done to this post.

Kid in daycare tomorrow, so a full day of hunting!! I can't afford to take another vacation day so I need to find it before 3PM (12 hrs). At least I've shaved & showered now.

Good luck all...

I think I'll rent It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World after this hunt is over just like after the PP hunt concludes. It's a tradition that helps us cope with the withdrawl. ....It could be worse...
You should try it. You'll see what I mean. It helps a lot

Morning!

Dream the Finding Dream!

I dreamt the Evil Finding Dream last night. I dreamt that somebody had picked up the coin, but not called Allison. It was gone, and we were all hunting in vain, but nobody would claim responsibility. Frustrating.

Who was driving a white Ford Aspire by Phalen zone 2 last night?

Good Morning!

Looks like there's a nice sunny day ahead for hunting! Good luck to those out early. I sure hope I get out there this afternoon, but that will depend on what happens at the office today.

And of course it also depends on if it's found by then.

Bundle up! It's cold outside!

See yaz later!

morning all. wow. feeling a bit better this morning. for once crawling into a cold bed last nite felt good. that and this morning i'm feeling better in a not so drug induced kinda way, and on 5 hours of sleep too. weird.

why am i suddenly feeling this urge to go out and hunt again at lunchtime today????? even though i said i wouldn't.

so frosti, where are things looking up for you at?

FYI, No one has called yet to say they've found it. So now the searching by day begins again (or has begun already from what I've heard).

My hunt is essentially over. I've got night class tonight, and runningchick has night class tommorow night. Plus my grandma is in town and coming over tommorow night to see the great-grandkids, so I won't have much opportunity to get out.

That said, I spent a few quality hours in zone 2 last night.

i spent 4 or 5 quality hours there yesterday afternoon, frosti. don't feel bad. i obviously didn't turn anything up either.

I don't feel bad. I can't make all the clues fit any specific spot, as Allison counseled last night. So I'm rehashing mentally today at work. RC is going to leave me tonight's clue on the cell phone voicemail so I can noodle it on the bus ride home. If it's good, I may head out after class. Sleep's overrated.

Plan on taking a nap at work then Frosti because you'll be out there tonight. ;-)

If anyone is hunting by Forest St., I'll be riding by there on the bus in about half an hour.

Great. My productivity probably won't be much lower if I do, the way this week's been.

Possibly. If I could figure out the "exhaust" clues I think I'd have this thing licked.

So last night as I'm wandering through the brush, a couple out for their evening constitutional ambles by. They look at me, rake and flashlight in hand, and ask, "Did you lose something?"
Realizing that they are not hunters, I said "Well, kind of." not wanting to go into great detail.
We talked for a minute about their two dogs. As they walk off, the man says to me "The medallion's been found, you know."

oh and for the ares sickness status report:

i must have done an excellent job acting sick yesterday. turns out one co worker was gonna call me after i left. another one took a look at his aol buddy list and found that i wasn't online and told him he better not cuz i was looking bad when i left and was probably at home in bed :)

damn i'm good.

I'd figure if you weren't on line, you weren't home, and therefore weren't sick.

yes but i didn't leave phalen sick :) besides you all knew my plan :) that and i made a valliant effort to look like i felt like crap when i left.

Mornin' all.
I'd hoped to be out hunting this morning, but after too many early mornings at work, I got to sleep in today.
Trouble is, I've got to work this evening. If the medal hasn't been found before tonight's clue, I may have a chance to get out ther after midnite. But it sounds like Allison made the next clue easier. Now he mentions Forest St. Last night out in zone 2 Rush mentioned that Sherwood and Forest are right by that section and Sherwood Forest was Robin Hood's domain (he being a noble person who stole from the rich to give to the poor sparrows. I probably won't find the treasure, but I hope I at least have the right interpretations of the clues (there are so many ways). Since there are ballfields in the area of Forest, maybe Allison was refering to "Shoeless Joe" (hey, maybe he was the original "Joe") as the other Jackson, to steer us to baseball fields.
Good luck, all!

did he just confirm its in zone 2 for us?

No, I was just confirming that tonight's clue would probably make Frosti want to go out and look, if it isn't found before he has a chance to get out.

I'm saying tonight's clue will give you a very strong impression as to where it's at.

I had a jolly time last night and got a strong vibe from the site where I was. I AM WAY OFF ON THE FURTHEST TANGENT, but it feels right.

But, I got chucked out of the park at 12:15.

I had the funniest experience. I found this rolled up piece of carpet in the tennis courts. It was tied up neatly. I couldn't LEAVE it there. But, it was frozen to the court. Finally I got it up and carried it home. It took all night to thaw, so I could unroll it, but there was nothing in it.

Going back at 3 to check out a mound of dirt.

strong: adj 1: having strength or power greater than average or expected;
impression: \Im*pres"sion\, n. [F. impression, L. impressio.] 1. The act of impressing, or the state of being impressed; the communication of a stamp, mold, style, or character, by external force or by influence.

Hmmm. Am I reading too much into this? hehe

Wow!
I just had something eerie happen. I thought I'd try to refigure out what the clues "something covered with earth" and "keep sight of the General's moniker" meant. I was doing a Netscape Search and started to type "Old Hickory" when a Netscape window popped up advertising the new TV series "Six Feet Under". It had a photo of a single tree on a hill ("One Tree Hill" song from U2's Joshua Tree Album?) What's that trying to tell me?
Spoo-o-o-ky!

Or maybe I will go home and get my shovel so I can attack that frozen pile of dirt and leaves. I bet it wasn't frozen before.

We're just a little over 6 hours away from clue #11 now. At least some people are out in the parks today looking by daylight. I'm starting to think it won't be found today though. Of course I'm assuming it's still out there, but I feel pretty confident that no one would have found it who wasn't looking for it as well as that no one looking for it would find it and not tell anyone. So I guess we'll see what happens come 7pm most likely.

But what about my dream?

chrisdigger, were you in zone 2 last night with two young'uns?

I guess for now I'd have to rank it up there with Dal's dream of finding it on Clue #2.

I'll be at a ballgame at the Rice-Arlington dome from 6:30-7:45

Could someone call my cell phone with the clue?

Yep, the forest green minivan, probably looked aqua under the streetlight. I'd just gotten back to the van, which was parked on Forest. You cruised by me, then whipped a U and headed down Ivy. We stared each other down as you drove by. I didn't see where you went after that. Later I saw the kids digging in the snow, but didn't realize it was the same person(s).
