Noodle the clues here if you wish

Ares... This weird winter has made so many problems..... I suspect that you have an allergenic sensitivity to mold, dust and other things that are not usually a problem.

oh well, as long as the stockpiles of nasal decongestants and antihistamines don't go barren, i'll be set, kt!

The next hunt I think will be the hunt for our sanity. The hunt for our everyday, so called "normal" lives. What the heck are we supposed to do with the rest of this year?

ares

you mean this isn't 'normal'???

hey, aw, when are you gonna post the deviousnesses behind the explanations? :)

ThoseMedallingKids

Yeah, I suppose green m&m's, whips, loading up on benadryl, walking through parks late at night, carrying stuffed animals around, getting three hours of sleep and going out walking around in the freezing cold, digging around bushes as cars drive by with people giving you strange looks...

Yeah, I guess that's normal

don't forget being spotted out there doing it by someone you know who actually recognised you! :) it's all your fault scribe!

just got back from Buggs. Me2 and CamoTerry made it out there as well as some other hunters that Jake and Snake know. I think Jake is going to keep the coin under his pillow every night, hehe. Got to see the jewelry box that I hid the coin in again. Certainly not in the same shape as when I saw it last. Jake washed the mud off and looks like it had been stepped on (Jake did say he thought it was a clump of dirt so he stomped on it to try and break it open). Jake bought food and drinks for everyone so it was fun. But Friday will be fun too at Fern's.

CM- I never changed the capital S because it never struck me as really being wrong. We capitalize Venus and Mars so why not the Sun?

Oh, by the way, thanks to CamoTerry for the candles! (more bribes that are coming too late! hehe)

As for the stroy behind the clues, I wonder if I should post it here or some where where only those who want to read it would see it? Still have to write it up though.

AW- Loved the clues! ...And why should you be any different than the PP as far as the 'splanations? I give you alll the credit that has ever been bestowed upon a person for that hunt! My only wish is that I could've played harder! Thank you, thank you very much, for the effort you put into the "Mock Hunt That Should have Been The Real Hunt" I'm sure that all who played feels the same! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

AW - Logical reasoning behind the cap S. It generated some good discussion here at work. We came to the conclusion that ourSun should be capitalized but asun for another solar system is not.
It could be used both ways then.

Good stuff, thanks for the reply and again for the clues.

Allison - Thanks again for a great hunt. Just wish I woulda gotten out there in the right park before it was found.

Oh well, there's always next year.

Put us down for next Friday night. I'm not sure if it'll be one or two of us yet. Depends on work schedules.

I'm headed for the sheets. Goodnight! SCDs!!!

AW - Did the guys get to keep the coin or is it returned for next year? Maybe a new, dated one?

The guys got to keep the coin. In fact, I think if I wanted it back, I'd have to pry it out of jake's cold dead hand. For as much as Jake may sometimes come across as egotistical, winning the hunt really did seem to mean quite a bit to him.

As for a fall hunt, maybe. I kind of like the idea of doing this sort of hunt only once a year in addition to the Medallion Hunt. But I do have some ideas for other sorts of hunts. Meanwhile Jake and Snake are talking about trying to do a summer one, though there's not a lot of details on that yet.

Fabulous Fern's is on Western and Selby in the Blair Arcade building. You can find out more about it and get a map at http://twincities.citysearch.com/profile/5518856/We're looking at doing dinner there Friday night around 7pm (and 7pm means 7pm, not 8pm! :-P)

AW - Not that your head needs to get any bigger :) but great job on 'The Story Behind The Scenes'!! Well written. I'm sure Jake's glad that you changed what it was originally hidden in. Yuk! That's the kind of stuff I crave from the hunt though. Gettin' into the mind of the hider/writer. Thanks for that extra effort. I, for one, really appreciate it D!

P.S. "(and 7pm means 7pm, not 8pm! :-P)"

Was that meant 4 me? ;}

I actually have to work but might stop by to see the gang later on.

AW - How long before clue #1 did you hide the coin? (@ 6:00 what day?)

Good Morning!

Allison - I loved your Story Behind the Scenes! I especially enjoyed the how-to-encase-the-coin stuff. Had me literally laughing and eeeewwwwing out loud! Interesting stuff you put in your freezer!

Onward and upward....it's Finally Friday!!!!!

See yaz all later!

I hid the coin about 25 hours before the first clue.

And the part about not being late, when we had the gathering before the parade I believe we decided to meet at 3pm. I got there a little early to make sure we had a table. At 3pm I was the only one there. At 3:30 I was the only one there. By 4pm two other people had come. And then at the pre-hunt party for this hunt we were supposed to start at 4. At 4:15 the Valentines came and I think it was 5pm before anyone else came. That's fine if we're at a bar or sitting in a restaurant during off hours, but if we're going to reserve a table at a popular restaurant on a Friday night, I don't want to spend an hour sitting there practically alone again at a big empty table. Just out of respect for the restaurant and other people who might end up waiting for tables that night it seems we shouldn't tie up a lot of space needlessly.

Allergic to hunting in parks...Do you feel better now? :)

yes dear. well, either allergic to hunting in parks, or allergic to me2 :) and since i've been hunting in parks a lot longer than i've been hunting with me2, i'm guessing the latter. j/k, me2 :)

actually, no. my head is still stuffed up like you wouldn't believe.

:: debating whether to keep up on my promise to disappear from the physical world until next year or make an encore appearance at ferns next friday nite ::

AW - I'm sure everyone agrees with you when it comes to making reservations. I think it's just plain rude not to show up on time for one of those types of events if you say you are. I think that ATH & I were referring to the 'show-up-if-you-can' events as far as being late. If there is a seat reserved for you, you should be in it. That's also why I included the part at the end that said I wouldn't be able to make it because of work that night. I know it's appreciated that you set this up. And I'm sure that everybody who say's their coming will be on time. Especially after these couple of posts :)

Lance - I like the new 'show as is' feature in spell check. Clearer.
Although the 'edit after spell check' button doesn't take you back to the edit screen. Just an FYI since it looks like you're playing around with it.

Hi THX - Thanks to you as well for setting up these boards. We would be blind without them. Good job.

I didn't mean to go off on a rant really so much as explain the backstory to that comment, and the original comment was sort of meant to tease those people (they know who they are). Then again I guess I could say the thing is at 7 and then just make the reservations for 8, hehe.
