Anybody else out there seeing school cuts like this?

Well, we have a nurse at the school only a 1/2 day a week-So we tell our daughters

"you can only get sick on Friday afternoons"

The socialworker works out of several schools like the nurse and is only available once a week too.

One copy machine for the entire school (in the main office) and it NEVER works right! It cannot be replaced because of cuts but they can afford to have a repairman to come in and work on it once a month! uuuuuuuhhhh! teachers need it to make copies for each student in the school everyday!

I haven't thought about the wonder twins in years.
Why was it always a water based weapon ? Why not Form a 9mm UZI with extra clips ?

BTW do you folks remember the Sleestack? I worked with a guy once who looked exactly like one.

Muskwa,

The wonder twins were a cartoon. They were on "superfriends" with superman, aquaman, wonder woman etc. They could change shape by saying shape of _______ and they would take that shape. It was silly cartoon but funny looking back at it now.

Sleestack are to hard to explain, they were from this show called land of the lost. It wasn't a cartoon but a silly little show about these people that get thrown into prehistoric times and are trapped there. the sleestack were their arch enemies.

Frosti made me think of all those Sat. mornings around the tube eating cereal, ahhh the good old days :) , wait i still do that, nevermind.

You too? I do that once in a while.

When I was a kid and watched Saturday morning TV, it was when TV was pretty new, in black and white, and we watched Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and Gene Autry. Also George Reeves as Superman and Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger.

ok. working through reformatting the archive pending a response from mike about getting an export file of the pp board. gee. while i don't exactly fit the aries persona aw describes (though there was that one hunt at conway....), i do know someone here who fits her sagittarian persona perfectly. and she had me in the wrong damn section of the park most of the time for aw's hunt! :)

Join my treasure hunting club at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/theallisonwonderlandfor future hunts during the year (well at least 1)

The Zodiac Hunter

Aries-- Most likely to go out hunting with a group of friends and will somehow manage to convince them to excavate an entire softball field.

Taurus-- More likely to want to just go out and dig without worrying a great deal about the clues. Will keep digging in the same place even if others tell them they’re in the wrong park.

Gemini-- Never gets to the right park because they read far too much into the clues. Still, they have a good time making their case.

Cancer-- Is only out there because someone they care about is out hunting and they wanted to go along and enjoy the experience with them.

Leo-- Determined to find the Medallion no matter what. Coordinates all available resources to decipher the clues and will dig tirelessly until it’s found.

Virgo-- May throw out a few ideas to others in an effort to be helpful but won’t go out and look for the Medallion on their own because if they don’t find it, then it was all a waste of time.

Libra-- Listens to everyone’s ideas and tries to get everyone to work together to figure out which park to look in, but by the time they actually decide on one, the Medallion has already been found.

Scorpio-- Not really concerned about the clues or finding the Medallion. Just uses the hunt as way to meet members of the opposite sex.

Sagittarius-- Will start out in one park, then decide on a different one and dig there, then become convinced its an a totally different place and will rush off there. Does eventually get to the right place though.

Capricorn-- Will choose a favorite park early on and then manage to fit every clue to their park of choice, never accepting other theories until they have no choice.

Aquarius-- Will be the first one to figure out the clues and is usually content to leave it at that and not bother digging, though is more than willing to share their insights with their fellow hunters.

Pisces-- Most likely to follow the crowd in determining what park to look in and once there, will rely on gut instinct, trying to “feel” where the Medallion lies, to figure out where to dig.

i'm making my way through the archive, formatting it for posting so that the top, previous, more, and recent links work correctly. i'm sure as i go along i'll find other interesting posts. i'll post them here or over in the medallion hunt folder as i find them.

Hmmm, well it seems I never cross-posted the second version to my Yahoo club, which means it exists only somewhere on the 2002 Medallion Hunt board. Oh well, I could always make another.

i haven't posted anything yet, ian. gimme a few more days and 2000-2001 will be up. then it'll be a painstaking process to get the images from this year's hunt combined into one directory. i'll post a link as soon as i get the stuff all together (as well as provide a zip file of each set of threads for anyone who wants them).

of course if mike is a nice guy, it'll obsolete the work i'm doing here by allowing us to have the actual threads posted here. wouldn't it be nice if he still had the databases from 1998 and 1999 too?

To tell the truth, I had a minor freak-out at 25. Looking back, it was no big thing. Fortunately I realized that before turning 30. 30 wasn't a big deal to me at all.

So, go out and party like you're still young (cause you are).

General personality
Born under the sign of Aquarius, you are independent and progressive. Your individualistic nature could express itself in the form of a rather special and somewhat different lifestyle. Although you can relate to all kinds of people regardless of their life direction or interests, you are not likely to be influenced into following in their footsteps. You have the ability to detach yourself and view the world from outside. A rebel by nature, you find rules and tradition especially uncomfortable since they tend to restrict your original imagination. Basically kind and eager to help, you have the happy knack of knowing when it is needed, and you give it freely without ulterior motives.
You respond to most situations in a calm manner, and there will be no rushing into sudden action with you. Instinctively diplomatic, you try not to antagonize others with your differing views. You very often maintain a middle-of-the-road position to avoid argument if you can. Being a somewhat refined person, you feel uneasy when people quarrel or use harsh language in your vicinity. If you have the opportunity, you will gladly act as mediator to maintain peace and harmony. You are very sensitive to other people's opinion of you, and one of your problems is making decisions without getting someone else's approval.

Your actions and your energy level are dependent on your emotions to a large extent. You might lose the necessary drive to see things through properly, unless you plan your efforts with greater care and learn to establish priorities. Focus your resources toward a single objective, and your self confidence will increase.

You have excellent judgement, and challenges will only be accepted after careful consideration of all the aspects involved. You can be too critical now and then, and seldom take risks. You easily get bogged down in endless, superficial details that distract you from your main objectives. You have the ability to study carefully, and could well have an above-average literary ability. Your outlook on life is very practical, and you have plenty of common sense.

You may have feelings of conflict when faced with challenging situations. The urge to accept them and to move forward may be held back somewhat by a certain amount of inhibition. If your negative feelings can be overcome and caution is allowed to take the place of any lack of self-confidence, you will learn a great deal that is constructive and helpful. You have no lack of ambition and desire to get on in life - just a complicated 'stop-go' attitude in the manner of achieving goals.

Mentality & communication
You have a sharp intellect and an objective mind, and the ability to find original solutions to problems. You are not afraid to assert yourself when you know you are right, and willing to admit it when you are wrong. People are usually receptive to you because you don't establish any rules to which they must adhere. Human variety fascinates you, you enjoy conversations with all kinds of people, and you rarely condemn anyone, no matter what his or her status might be. You tend to be stubborn though, and probably have fixed opinions that only the most convincing arguments and substantial evidence can change.

Social & interpersonal relations
You have a lively way of expressing love, although maybe somewhat boisterous. You need a partner with an intellectual level matching yours, and you won't tolerate boredom in a relationship. You are drawn to people who are eager to grow in character and who demonstrate by their actions that life is meaningful to them. Try to make sure that your partner do not suffer because of your restlessness and need for constant renewal. On the social level you have a light and breezy manner, and should find it easy to cultivate warm, friendly associations because of your compromising nature.

Maybe this is why you haven't found the medallion yet?

Here's me:

General personality
Born under the sign of Gemini, you are above all very versatile, never only being involved in one specialist area of life. There is little you don't know something about, and you are never without a subject to talk or think about. The ability to communicate is one of your greatest assets, and more often than not it will be you that speak up when something is wrong. An air of activity tends to surround you - you always seem to be in a hurry, you hate being bored, and bore fairly easily. Superficiality could be one of your major faults, never learning anything properly. You have to make plans if you hope to realise your goals and objectives, and you have to discipline yourself in your responsibilities in seeing that your plans are carried out.
Your feelings are combined with intellectuality, so that you try to understand your own emotional reactions. You are more inclined to pursue interests pertaining to large numbers of people rather than individuals, and although you have a great deal of 'social consciousness', you might actually have difficulty in relating to individual people emotionally. You desire freedom for yourself and others, and you probably demonstrated your rebel qualities even as a young person. You feel the impulse of the times, and can relate easily to the subtle changes constantly occurring in your environment. Others may find you unpredictable at times.

In temperament, you are frank and open, and you have lots of enthusiastic energy. Your greatest failing is your inclination to do too many things at a time. This deprives you of focus and direction, and you waste a lot of energy for nothing. You also tend to bite off more than you can chew, believing yourself able to do more than you actually can.

You are ambitious for material progress, but will be patient and ready to build slowly and carefully to achieve your ambitions. You soon learned that progressing in leaps and bounds is not your way, and the acquisition of property and a sound bank balance will do more to build your self-confidence than anything else. You need that kind of security; it is psychologically important to you. You may tend to be overcommitted to routine, and a hint of complacency may emerge from time to time.

Mentality & communication
You are mentally alert and versatile in your interests, and have a thirst for knowledge that is second to none. You are interested in everything, but easily distracted when something new gains your attention. You think very quickly, and are ready to change your attitudes and opinions at a moment's notice, but watch out for a tendency to be superficial. One of your problems is that you spend more time talking or thinking about things than actually doing them. You are talkative, sometimes in the extreme, and love to move around all the time, probably spending an above-average time travelling.
Sometimes you tend to be mentally overactive and restless. You have a sharp tongue, and can easily become argumentative, often to the point of taking an opposing view for the sake of argument. You might also take personal affront to those who disagree with you. You need to learn the virtues of patience and verbal restraint, and to bear in mind that your judgment is not always infallible; guard against jumping to conclusions before considering all the facts.

You are also alert, curious, and knowledgeable on many unusual subjects, and have the capacity for independent and progressive thought, and to communicate this in an original way. Your mind is constantly active, consciously or subconsciously. Solutions to intellectual problems can come to you in unexpected flashes. Your mind is focused toward the future, and you have no problem understanding or accepting modern thought.

Your imagination often gets in the way of logical thinking, and this can make you somewhat absentminded. Reluctant to accept responsibility, you have tendencies toward escapism - your advancement may be impeded by a tendency to dream and scheme a little too much. You don't handle competition very well. You have a sensitivity to the thoughts and motivations of others, but sometimes you are so easily influenced that you are deceived - your imagination can play tricks on you.

Social & interpersonal relations
You have a strong tendency to fall in love very quickly, and you will do everything in your power to win the affection of those to whom you are attracted. Your charm is in your straightforwardness of approach and your enthusiasm for love and pleasure in general. One of your problems could be that you fear the burdens of commitment. You don't make adjustments easily and prefer that others accommodate you in your relationships. Until you learn to become less selfish and accept the responsibilities of a commitment to another person, you will only experience temporary encounters just satisfying the senses.
