Discuss the 2005 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt here.

Just got back from Crosby. Not as many people as I thought there would be. Brought the kids out and did a little poking around. I find the whole park uninspiring. I'm secretly holding out hope for an eighth clue bombshell.Â
I hung by the fire in the shelter a little with my two girls. Wasn't sure if it was the crue hanging out there or just random people.
After the end of this years hunt I'm going to pull coolertimes. I don't want there to be anymore confusion over which site is the official site.
I think the complement each other. Times for recent happenings, and coolercrew.com for more archived stuff.
Just got an email that states they are now writing tickets at Crosby for anyone not in a parking spot.Â
They didn't write any tickets that I know of. The park police were just sending people back up the hill to park cause there were too many cars down there. I was along the road all day and never got a ticket.
1-park 2-crosby 3-south side of lake at crosby 4-streets at crosby 5-crosby pavillion 6-trail through trees from pavillion at crosby 7-puck on ground at crosby
well, I am interested in the cops giving the tickets- there are NO signs along the road that state you cannot park there.
during the Parade today ...the st. paul fire dept. said they know where the medallion is at.......near a fire hydrant...asked that we look at every one in the city....
I stunk from smoke so bad last night after RL that it almost made me ill. The waitresses are not very kind people, I don't think they were trained well. Great Waters has been very cordial to us. I know it's not that close to the paper, but I'd like to go where we're appreciated.
Ian I love your tagline. It's like phalen all over again.
Nope. The fire shelter is pretty easy to find. Right next to the parking lot....
but the other shelter, well you go down the trails and you'll pass a huge fallen tree which has been sawed to clear the path. From that perspective, if you look straight ahead (Not running helter skelter) on the path, you will see a big shelter with quite a solid base. There is a dryed marsh to it's right, and lichen covered branches in the feilds around it. So from there look for yarrow!
I just got a voicemail from Tim and he said they're heading over to a bar called "the buttery" or something like that. On 6th and Roberts, or something. I'm not familiar with it, but he says they went there cause everywhere else is packed. Just in case anyone was planning on checking in here before heading out.
I just got home. Went to Battle Creek and all the obvious spots have already been dug through. Had a nice walk along the creek though.  It's frozen along the lower falls, but where the land levels off it isn't frozen through yet. It's a pretty shade of light green. Found some logs from trees that had been cut down along the road leading in there and took some to the pavilion at Crosby. Nice fire down there. Now I'm in my jammies and in for the night waiting for the next clue. Mr. Mikey says I need one. ;)
Right about police everywhere. Even on four-wheelers. Passed two just leaving the place. The road down to the parking lot is marked "No Parking" around the marina. When I left around 6:45, there was plenty of parking in the lot.Â
LOL That's how I read it FB. KT has always been my cute little side kick ;-)
Nice seeing you FB.  U 2  OT, Lil w/ clan, Mappy, MedHunter, Eric......
Alibabas, Jake & I ended up saving a guy who was actually terrified because he had been lost for a few hours and we were the first people he actually seen in awhile. We were pretty far out into the park though. Seeing the look on his face when he actually saw the parking lot was priceless. That had to be one of the biggest sighs I've ever heard. ;-) His name was Ray.Â
Sheriff's were heading out to see if anybody else was lost because they heard some stories and such. Plus we found the perfect spot to dig for tonight's clue. See yall at the Butt if I can put these damn cars back together again.

uninspiring -good word
Â
My belief is that last night's clue was pointing to a park with or near an ice rink. I can't shake the thought.
Of course, I know it'll end up being Crosby and I'll have wasted all this time fretting over nothing.

I think we should buy one of those rhyming dictionaries and send it to the Pioneer Press with "Attn: Clue Writer(s)" on it.
Bug G, that is a brilliant idea.Â
I had less cigarette smoke on me than the bon-fire at the park and I hate cigarette smoke -so I guess I was fine
Â
I like GW as well....ya I get $2bucks off from camo crew for one drink...but its still more then a GW beer....
Â
and RL has a covercharge tonight...even thou CamoCrue promised we would get in for free if we KNOW the camocrue....
Â
I've only been to Great Waters once, but it's cool with me.
welll...on 2nd thought....I'm just going where the MOST coolerchicks are going to be....doesn't matter which ones.....

Cooler heads prevail!
Ummmm......
Â
Just thongs or are you all wearing pants on top of that? Heheh. Just curious.
Oh, and for extra credit, YOUNGMAN (Clue 6) road is right by Shepard as you cross over to get down into the park.
Get there before the crowds!
I'm proud to be among the first 50

I think the hinge lead is the hottest I've heard in all my years of hunting. Do you have any more data on that yet? Please, let me know. Thanks!
Heading out to GW right now, Rockin Lobster is just too lame for a young hipster like me.
figure i'll be there like 9ish

hey all. I liked the noodle from earlier about there possibly being a stage in the area due to the clues about hearing and song references.Â
he had been lost for a few hours
I got turned around in the summer once, but how in the hell do you get lost in winter? Sheesh
Good Evening!
Back from the movie and the chores we did for my Mom.Â
Sure hope tonight's clue gives us some further guidance as to where to look.
Does anyone have any ideas on the "Once Blue Pond" ?
Its eating at me
My take on that clue is that during non-winter months, it would reflect the blue sky...now frozen it doesn't. Could be any body of water.Â
Â
That definately is a flood plain, but I don't know that I buy that either.Â
When it's flooded, I wouldn't call that a pond.
