I saw it was stopped down there and ran down with my mom niece and nufu and whited for it to come around the bend it was late in to St. Paul hears one for you because the fire hirdrent that they where going to fill it off of in ssp wasnt working and they didnt know!! nice if they would have had a fire!!!!
That first step is as high as anyone is allowed to climb. They've got a stairway and catwalk set up outside the engineer's cabin, so you can look inside the cab at the huge assortment of knobs, dials and levers.
The train she's pulling includes a lot of restored and/or adapted vintage Union Pacific Rail cars. Near the back of the train there's a mail sorting car that they've adapted to use like a souvenir shop, and a passenger coach you can go and sit in the vintage recliner chairs.
It's parked on a lesser-used rail line at the bend between the Mounds Park switch yard and the downtown line that goes under Hwy 52. You access it by the elevated parking lot off Broadway and East Kellogg Blvd. Since the outer rail lines are still being used by commercial rail traffic, they have security and rail cops to keep people on the "safe" side of the train.
