Pre-Dig Gig, Rehash Bash and other Cooler events

I think Jimmy at Obb's has been good to us and Fred at Yarusso's has been FANTASTIC.

I've had a couple dozen Events at Yarusso's this year. They're always happy to see us.

They sponsored a Swede Hollow Challenge in June, offering appetizer discounts, drink specials, and a gift certificate.

FYI, Mike was very ill, and in the hospital for a couple months. He's out, but a long road to recovery.

Don't forget that we (or at least I) plan on hanging out at Yarusso's pre-clue most nights. It's just that with the Saturday night dinner rush, it was a zoo for the first couple hours. Someone should definitely talk to them though to let them know that we are not abandoning them.

Hey Everyone I have a GREAT Idea for the pre dig gig.

I work Tabs at Lonettis Lounge on Rice Street. Its just a hop down rice to Ma press. The owners Lonettis have an area Large enough for us, There is no charge for the room, no food requirement, In fact we can bring in our food and set it up, we just need to call it catering! There's area for DJ, which is not a problem, I know the owners quite well as I work there, (Not for them, but the charity) yet you get to know them quite well. There's a heated area outside for smokers, and they would love to have us. As Ron Lonetti said ..we make our money of the drinks. They do have a limited menu, Tacos are a buck, burgers are five. Like I said Ma Press would be so easy to access from there. I would like to see it there, I think it would be simple and we don't have to deal with a dinner crowd. Let me know so I can set this up. If ABB is chosen for pre-dig, I will go to Yarussos most nights pre-clue.

Freddie got so in to the hunting with us last year- he will be sad.

I believe the ONLY reason we didn't go to ABB (Rockin Lobster, Galleger's, Matty B's) 2 years in a row was because it didn't stay in business long enough over 2 hunts. So we had to scramble.

Does anyone have a memory list or actual list they can post here of the year and place and date for every Pre-dig back to 1998? thanks.

and as far as bringing them business, I got my work birthday lunch from Yarusso's last week and ate there on many Tuesday nights this year.

That, and every year afterwards until now the Guard had their party at ABB the same night.

I plan on going to Yarussos pre-clue as well. Someone should talk to them about staying open late like they did last year.

Yes, 2009, the year The darlin's went and then the next year they did not

There was a rehash bash in 1998 - no predig as we didn't meet up with others until after the hunt. We did McGovern's from 1999 through 2007.

We did do Obb's two years in a row.

IMHO - The year we had McGovern's upstairs was one of the suckiest PDGs. Once they started cranking the music it was hopeless to have a conversation.

I liked it up there because Don Boxmeyer was there and I met Liquor Lady for the first time (since high school). And Ares kept drinking my drinks :wink: And there were darts.

So far I don't have a worst persay.... Yarusso's was probably the least fun HOWEVER I wasn't happy that Iceman had to leave and the set up for the Park-Picks were harder and not having the area just for CC. and missing the vulcans/or King come in too early. But the deals were great on drinks and food!

Update on the Predig!

The 2012 Predig will be held at American Burger Bar on Saturday, January 21. We have the Library room, which has seating for 45, reserved all night starting at 6. The crowds should thin out when the Wild game starts, so we will not be confined just our room. For those who remember the 2008 Predig at Matty B's, the Library is the same room we used then. We are still working on drink specials, their happy hour starts at 10:30, but it sounds like we will be able to get some kind of deal all night for those wearing cooler crew buttons. Also, ABB validates parking in the Victory Ramp. Because it will be a game night, you will have to pay when you enter the ramp, but you will get your money back upon exiting. More details on drink specials as soon as I get more info!

In the back corner. I'm pretty sure you ran the Park Pick from there. It's hardly a separate room, but more like a separate seating area. You go up a couple steps and there are a bunch of tables.

It used to be called the Capitol Room too

Yes! It will be at American Burger Bar on Saturday, January 21st starting at 6pm. We have our own room reserved, but will probably end up taking over the whole bar when the crowds thin out.

Someone should put the Predig info at the top of this thread, an also correct the hunt dates.
