No it has BETTER!!! A 455 rocket with matching numbers front to back!! lol it passes EVERYTHING but the GAS STATION!! lol

I drove around the blocks for quite some time. Ramps all full. Nothing on the street either.Then I ordered chinese food and went home. I'm grateful for good chinese take out that's open late. Got a good fortune too! ;o)

That's ok, I'm just home relaxing, or trying to, still moving in sort of, and trying to get things organized. Glad I didn't go drive around and get frustrated with parking anyway :smile:

The Chinese food place is Chin Chin on Smith Avenue. Minnesota chow mein, really good cream cheese puffs, walnut shrimp is one of my favorites, butter chicken, well, haven't had anything I didn't like. They are open until 9:30 most nights and apparently until 10 on the weekend. They deliver, but probably not as far as where I live. The young woman who works there recognizes me and remembers what I order and that I like duck sauce.

Cool! I have SEEN that place before....it's right by Smith and Dodd, right? Will have to check it out sometime.

Still...missed seeing you last night - But that you got to eat some good ol' Chinese....well, it doesn't make UP for missing the PDG, but it does make the whole thing better, right?

Yes, it is on Smith, right where Bernard intersects and just a few steps to where Dodd intersects. The old Wong's chow mein site. Yeah, good Chinese food really helped.

Another great place is on Robert if you like Buffet's you will LOVE Habatchi(SP) right in the Old Signal hills mall right by Kmart they have some of the Best Chinese food I have had in YEARS!! and its a Buffet!! also GREAT PRICE!! Erin and I have went with Spencer for dinner and it was 21.50 with drinks! for 3 people and they have Great Sushi!!! I can't say enough great things about this place!

any thoughts yet as to the rehash? newell? tsp? right now the forecast is showing a high of 39, low of 23 with a few snow showers for sunday.

I just called the parks department and they changed their rules this year and did not want to rent with less than 7 days notice. So that may not be an option unless someone else thinks they can talk them into it. It does look like Sunday will be a decent day but is there power in the picnic pavilions?

I might be a good day for an outdoor picnic Saturday - what about Grumpy's Bar off Snelling a couple miles up the road?

I think the trick of it is to find a place where we can do a potluck.

This is a problem. Can anyone try to sweet talk St. Paul Parks to open up something for us? Monday to Sunday is 7 days. Really bummed.

If the Parks Department won't "cooperate", handle it like a Flash Mob Event and just take over a park. Always thought that Re-Hash in park was a "cooler tradition". Why not TSP. I hear they have a gazebo or two and a nice frozen lake that would surely handle an inconspicuous crowd.

We could take over a park - we've done that before. We have been using indoor spots - the most recent at Newell. They have an indoor shelter with running water, bathrooms, electricity, tables and chairs. It just makes for a nicer, warmer, more comfortable place to do a rehash and spend time together for a potluck.

is there enough power at tsp to power a buncha crock pots and stuff?

ares - I didn't check. I'm guessing if someone contacts the park systme out there, they would have the answer.

I'm sure we can get *someone* at one of the parks offices to "cooperate". We've been doing this for 14 years now (OH - MY - GAWD!!!). They cannot succeed in being doofus-boo-boo heads.

If we can't have Newell, I'm sure the nice Arden Hills people will work it out. Whoever is answering for St. Paul is just having a power-trip kind of day...do you REALLY think they've got all that much demand for a pavilion in February that they can't get someone out there before Sunday to make sure the lights turn on? Gheez.
