The Jukebox

Submitted by Frosti on

AKA Earworm Central.  "Keptin! They put creaturesin our bodies!"--Chekov

If you're gonna have a folder about beer, you gotta have some tunes.

My life flows on in endless song
above earth's lamentation.

I hear the real, through far-off hymn
that hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the
strife I hear that music ringing.

It sounds an echo in my soul, how
can I keep from singing?

Ok, so your heart is broken
You're sitting around mopin', mopin', mopin', cryin', cryin'
You say you're even thinking about dying
Well, before you do anything rash, baby, listen to this

Everybody plays the fool, sometime
There's no exception to the rule, listen baby
It may be factual, it may be cruel, I ain't lying
Everybody plays the fool

Fallin' in love is such an easy thing to do
But there's no guarantee that the one you love, is gonna love you
Oh, loving eyes they cannot see a certain person could never be
Love runs deeper than any ocean, it clouds you're mind with emotion

Everybody plays the fool, sometime
There's no exception to the rule, listen baby
It may be factual, it may be cruel, I ain't lying
Everybody plays the fool

How can you help it, when the music starts to play
And your ability to reason, is swept away
Oh, heaven on earth is all you see, you're out of touch with reality
And now you cry, but when you do, next time around someone cries for you

Hey, everybody plays the fool, sometime
Use your heart just like a tool, listen baby
They never tell you so in school, I wanna say it again,
Everybody plays the fool

Everybody plays the fool, sometime
There's no exception to the rule, listen baby
It may be factual, it may be cruel, I ain't lying
Everybody plays the fool

Every plays the fool, sometime
There's no exception to the rule, listen baby
It may be factual, it may be cruel, I wanna say it again
Everybody plays the fool

Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going

(Chorus)
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hungry heart

I met her in a Kingstown bar
We fell in love I knew it had to end
We took what we had and we ripped it apart
Now here I am down in Kingstone again

(Chorus)

Everybody needs a place to rest
Everybody wants to have a home
Don't make no difference what nobody says
Ain't nobody like to be alone

(Chorus)

there was a grown man dying from fright
so surprised at the things he'd say
with a giant fantasy life
running 'round on feet of clay
naked except for a perpetual death
that couldn't be stripped away
and i'm right to prove wrong
it moved him along closer to division day

I spent a long time living with that
never could give it a name
and when you don't know what you're looking at
makes it much harder to tame
mostly they'd meet when he was asleep and
have some sick exchange
that struck him as wrong
and moved him along closer to division day

(solo)

I can't make an exception for a bad connection
that only goes one way
sell out for a song where I don't belong
with you on division day

the moon stood up on the ridge
looking down where the water shines
and a man looking over the bridge
like he'd done so many times
thinking about how to stay out
out of trouble's way
flying to fall away from you all
it's over division day
beautiful division day

I got out of work and I headed for the neighborhood beer joint

I sat around and had a beer with the boys like I always do

Well I didn't have nothin' to say anyway there ain't no point

There's just something 'bout a Monday that always makes me blue

Well it was well after dark so I knew my wife and kids were waitin'

And I guess I took a left where I generally take a right

Well I filled her up with gas, checked the oil at the Texaco station

I threw the car seat in the dumpster and headed off into the night

Woo-ohh-ooh-ooh-ooh

There's somethin' 'bout a Monday that always makes me blue

Well I headed south on 35 hell bent for vinyl

I hadn't never had her up past 55 before

Well somethin' 'bout that little red line always looked so final

Buddy you'd be surprised how fast a Chevrolet truck can go

*
Now, down in Mexico they've got a little place called Boystown

Where a man's still a man if you know what I'm talkin' about

Well, I walked into the Cadillac bar and I laid my cash down

I said "there's plenty more where that came from" and the lights went out

* (this verse is not included on the official lyrics sheet, but is included on the recording)

Well I woke up in a county jail 'cross the line in Laredo

With a headache and a deputy staring at me through the door

Well he said "Now how you got across that river alive, I don't know

But your wife just made your bail so now you're really dead for sure"

Now my wife, she called my boss and cried so I got my job back

And the boys down at the plant, they whisper and stare at me

Yea well my wife can find a lot of little jobs to keep me on the right track

Well, but that's a small price to pay for a week of living dangerously

Yeah-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-wee

That's a small price to pay for a week of living dangerously

go to sleep little baby
go to sleep little baby

your momma's gone away and your daddy's gonna stay
didn't leave nobody but the baby

go to sleep little baby
go to sleep little baby

everybody's gone in the cotton and the corn
didn't leave nobody but the baby

you're a sweet little baby

you're a sweet little baby

honey in the rock and the sugar don't stop
gonna bring a bottle to the baby

don't you weep pretty baby
don't you weep pretty baby

she's long gone with her red shoes on
gonna need another loving baby

go to sleep little baby
go to sleep little baby

you and me and the devil makes three
don't need no other lovin' baby

go to sleep little baby
go to sleep little baby

come lay your bones on the alabaster stones
and be my everlovin' baby

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new Transit van
My friends all drive Sprinters
I must make amends
I dig hard all day, Lord
it just never ends
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new Transit van?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new JCB?
I just can’t go further
with a KL15
I dig hard all day, Lord
and I’m stuck in a trench
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new JCB?

And Lord, won’t you buy me some sodium lights?
They’ll be wired up by Bungle
They’re sure to burn bright
I dig hard all night, Lord
so show me the light
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me some sodium lights?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new minibus?
For those new-shape Transits
I’ve just got the lust
It’s a matter of days, Lord
‘til NJF busts
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new minibus?

And Lord, won’t you buy me a new Transit van?
My friends all drive Sprinters
I must make amends
I dig hard all day Lord
it just never ends
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a new Transit van?

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a PC/AT
The high-tech revolution is waiting for me
Hacked hard all my Sundays on an Apple IIe
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a PC/AT

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color display
The Dungeons of Doonquest are no fun in gray
Got my new color joystick, I'm ready to play
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color display

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Microsoft Mouse
My life ain't complete without one in the house
I can live without Windows, I don't mean to grouse
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Microsoft Mouse

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.
My friends all ride warmbloods, I must make amends.
I practice my leg yields, each evenin 'til ten.
So, oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck
I'm tired of trying to land standing up.
I spend all my time, brushing dirt off my butt.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.
I count all my fingers and toes every night.
I feel like a carrot, when I'm in his sight.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.
Mine is scared of his own shadow, it's driving me insane.
I ask him to do things, but he forgets his own name
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean.
I brush him, I groom him, I've considered chlorine.
His color's too chestnut for a horse with grey genes.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean.

Oh Lord, won't you give hime some hindquarter drive.
This horse is so lazy, I'm not sure he's alive.
We bend and we circle, 'til way, way past five.
So oh Lord, won't you give him some hindquarter drive.

Oh Lord won't you buy me a nuclear plant
I'd like to afford one, but right now, I can't
The Sims don't like brown-outs, they rave and they rant
So Lord won't you buy me a nuclear plant

Oh Lord won't you buy me a stadium zone
The Sims are revolting, they want one of their own
Save hard every year, but my tax base ain't grown
So Lord won't you buy me a stadium zone

Oh Lord won't you buy me a new seaport soon
Industry's singing, but I don't know the tune
If I don't build now, I'll end up in ruin
(Alt. line - I ain't seen 5000 in at least a blue moon)
So Lord won't you buy me a new seaport soon

Oh Lord won't you buy me an airport today
Commerce will stagnate, they'll all go away
10,000 dollars is a price I can't pay
So Lord won't you buy me an airport today

Oh, Lord, won't you find me a WMD?
My friends won't send forces, or money to me.
Looked hard under sand dunes; there's nothing to see,
So Lord, won't you find me a WMD?

Oh, Lord, won't you find me some chemicals, please?
France and Australia are laughing back at me.
I wait for intelligence each day until three,
So Lord, won't you find some banned chemicals, please?

Oh, Lord, won't you buy me a fight in Iran?
There's oil in there, Lord; please give me their sand.
Prove that you love me and buy me a plan,
Oh, Lord, won't you find me a fight in Iran?

Oh, Lord, won't you find me a WMD?
The Dems might just rally and get off their knees.
Elections are coming; there's nothing to see,
So Lord, won't you find me a Dubya MD?

Stuck on Top of Orthanc with the Minas Blues Again

From Hob Dylan's album Strawhead on Strawhead

Oh, Saruman draws circles
Up and down Isengard
I'd ask him what the matter was
But I know that I'd get scarred
And the Dwarves treat me kindly
And furnish me with cram
But deep inside my heart
I know that I can't scram
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Well, Gandalf, he's in the attic
With his pointed hat and his staff,
Speaking to some Uruk
Who say I make them laugh
And I would send a message
To find out what Baggins has got
But the Pony has been raided
And Butterbur has forgot
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Ferny tried to tell me
To stay away from the Greenway rail
He said that all the half-Orc Men
Just drink up your blood like ale
And I said, "Oh, I didn't know that,
But then again, there's only one I see'd
And he just smoked my helmet
And smote my pipe-weed"
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Denethor died last week
And now he's buried in the rocks
But everybody still talks about
How badly they were shocked
But me, I expected it to happen,
I knew he'd lost control
When he built a pyre on Rath Dínen
And smote Beregond full of holes.
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Now the Witch-King came down here
Showing ev'ryone his sword
Handing out free tickets
To the crossing of the ford
And me, I nearly got punctured
And wouldn't it be my doom
To get caught without a ticket
And discovered beneath Balin's tomb
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Now Saruman gave me two cures
Then he said, "Go right ahead"
The one was Orkish medicine
The other was just lembas bread
And like a fool I mixed them
And it muddled up my lore
And now Olog just get uglier
And I have no miruvor

Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Beruthiel says come see her
In her Belfalas lagoon
Where I can watch her Springle-Ring
'Neath her Harondorian moon
And I say, "Oh, fie on you
You must know about my Nimrodel"
And she says, "Your Nimrodel just knows the woods
But I know the Bay of Bel"
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

Now the stonework on Rath Celerdain
Where the sable soldiers marched
It's all built there so perfectly
It all seems so well arched
And here I sit so patiently
Waiting to find out what spell
You have to know to get out of
Going through this doom so fell.
Oh, Gwaihir, can this really be the end
To be stuck on top of Orthanc
With the Minas blues again

For Sally Cragin, who could sing it so funny you could finally hear how tragic it was meant to be...

Father, dear father, come home from the bar!
The clock in the steeple strikes one;
You said you were coming right home from the shop,
As soon as your day's work was done.
Our fire has gone out our house is all dark
And mother's been watching since tea, --
With poor brother Benny so sick in her arms,
And no one to help her but me. --
Come home! come home! come home! --
Please, father, dear father, come home. –

[Chorus] Hear the sweet voice of the child
Which the night winds repeat as they roam!
Oh who could resist this most plaintive of prayers?
"Please, father, dear father, come home."

Father, dear father, come home with me now!
            The clock in the steeple strikes two;
The night has grown colder, and Benny is worse
But he has been calling for you.
Indeed he is worse Ma says he will die,
Perhaps before morning shall dawn; --
And this is the message she sent me to bring
"Come quickly, or he will be gone." --
Come home! come home! come home! --
Please, father, dear father, come home. --

[Chorus] Hear the sweet voice of the child
Which the night winds repeat as they roam!
Oh who could resist this most plaintive of prayers?
"Please, father, dear father, come home."

Father, dear father, come home with me now!
            The clock in the steeple strikes three;
The house is so lonely the hours are so long
For poor weeping mother and me.
Yes, we are alone poor Benny is dead,
And gone with the angels of light; --
And these were the very last words that he said
"I want to kiss Papa good night." --
Come home! come home! come home! --
Please, father, dear father, come home. –

Hear the sweet voice of the child
Which the night winds repeat as they roam!
Oh who could resist this most plaintive of prayers?
"Please, father, dear father, come home."

Well I pulled out of Pittsburgh headin down that Eastern seaboard
I got my diesel wound up and she's running like never before
There's a speed zone ahead, allright
But I don't see a cop in sight
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

I got me ten forward gears and a Georgia overdrive
I'm takin' little white pills and my eyes are opened wide
I just passed a 'Jimmy' and a 'White'
I been passing everything in sight
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

Well it seems like a month since I kissed my baby goodbye
I could have a lot of women but I'm not like some other guys
I could find me one to hold me tight
But I could never make believe it's allright
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

<INSTRUMENTAL>

I.C.C. is checking on down the line
Well I'm a little overweight and my log book's way behind
But nothing bothers me tonight
I can dodge all the scales allright
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

Well my rigs a little old but that don't mean she's slow
There's a flame from her stack and that smokes been blowin' black as coal
Well my home town's coming in sight
And if you think I'm happy you're right
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight

Also for GLO (though since her man's at home, I would assume she's too busy to be reading this):

Uh, Breaker One-Nine, this here's the Rubber Duck
You got a copy on me Pig-Pen? C'mon

Uh, yeah 10-4 Pig Pen, fer sure, fer sure
By golly it's clean clear to Flag-Town, C'mon

Uh, yeah, that's a big 10-4 Pig-Pen,
Yeah, we definitely got us the front door good buddy,
Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy

Was the dark of the moon, on the sixth of June
In a Kenworth, pullin' logs
Cabover Pete with a reefer on
And a Jimmy haulin' hogs
We 'as headin' fer bear on I-One-Oh
'Bout a mile outta Shaky-Town
I sez Pig-Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck
An' I'm about to put the hammer on down

Cause we gotta little ol' convoy, rockin' through the night
Yeah we gotta little ol' convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on an' join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna git in our way
We're gonna roll this truckin' convoy, cross the USA
Convoy... Convoy...

Uh, breaker Pig-Pen, this here's The Duck
Uh, you wanna back off them hogs
10-4, 'bout five mile or so, 10-roger
Them hogs is gittin' in-tense up here

By the time we got into Tulsa-Town
We had eighty-five trucks in all
But they's a road block up on the clover leaf
An' them bears 'as wall to wall
Yeah them smokies 'as thick as bugs on a bumper
They even had a bear-in-the-air
I sez callin' all trucks, this here's The Duck
We about to go a huntin' bear

Cause we gotta great big convoy, rockin' through the night
Yeah we gotta great big convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on an' join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna git in our way
We're gonna roll this truckin' convoy, cross the USA
Convoy... Convoy...

Uh, you wanna give me a 10-9 on that Pig-Pen?
Uh, negatory Pig-Pen, yer still too close
Yeah, them hogs is startin' close up my sinuses
Mercy sakes, you better back off another ten

Well we rolled up interstate fourty-four
Like a rocket sled on rails
We tore up all a our swindle sheets
An' left 'em settin' on the scales
By the time we hit that Chi-Town
Them bears was a gittin' smart
They'd brought up some reinforcements
From the Illinois National Guard
There 'as armored cars, and tanks, and Jeeps
An' rigs of every size
Yeah them chicken coops 'as full a bears
An' choppers filled the skies
Well we shot the line, an' we went for broke
With a thousand screamin' trucks
And eleven long-haired friends of Jesus
In a chartreusse microbus

Hey Sod Buster, listen
You wanna put that microbus in behind the suicide jockey?
Yeah, he's haulin dynamite
He needs all the help he can git

Well we laid a strip fer the Jersey Shore
An' prepared to cross the line
I could see the bridge 'as lined with bears
But I didn't have a doggone dime
I sez Pig-Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck
We just ain't a gonna pay no toll
So we crashed the gate doin' ninety-eight
I sez, let them truckers roll, 10-4

Cause we gotta mighty convoy, rockin' through the night
Yeah we gotta mighty convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on an' join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna git in our way
We're gonna roll this truckin' convoy, cross the USA
Convoy... Convoy...

Uh, 10-4 Pig-Pen, what's yer 20?
Omaha?!
Well they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there fer sure
Well mercy sakes alive good buddy
We gonna back on outta here
So keep the bugs off yer glass
An' the bears off yer... tail
We gonna catch ya on the flip-flop
This here's the Rubber Duck on the side
We gone
Bye, Bye...

The Empty Bottle was half-empty tide was low and I was thirsty
Saw her sitting at the bar you know how some girls are
Always making eyes well she wasn't making eyes
So I sidled up beside her settled down and shouted hi there
My name's Stewart Ransom Miller I'm a serial lady killer
She said I'm already dead that's exactly what she said
So we tripped the lights fantastic we was both made of elastic
Midnight came and midnight went and I thought I was the president
She said do you have a car and I said do I have a car?

What's so great about the barrier reef
What's so fine about art
What's so good about a Good Times van
When you're working on a broken working on a broken
Working on a broken man

My heart wasn't in it not for one single minute
I went through the motions with her her on top and me on liqour
Didn't do no good well I didn't think it would

What's so great about the barrier reef
What's so fine about art
What's so good about a Good Times van
When you're working on a broken working on a broken

My current earworm, thanks to Chris H:

Early one mornin' while makin' the rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and I went to bed
I stuck that lovin' 44 beneath my head

Got up next mornin' and I grabbed that gun
Took a shot of cocaine and away I run
Made a good run but I ran too slow
They overtook me down in Juarez Mexico

Late in the hot joints takin' the pills
In walked the sheriff from Jericho Hill
He said Willy Lee your name is not Jack Brown
You're the dirty heck that shot your woman down

Said yes, oh yes my name is Willy Lee
If you've got the warrant just a-read it to me
Shot her down because she made me sore
I thought I was her daddy but she had five more

When I was arrested I was dressed in black
They put me on a train and they took me back
Had no friend for to go my bail
They slapped my dried up carcass in that county jail

Early next mornin' bout a half past nine
I spied the sheriff coming down the line
Ah, and he coughed as he cleared his throat
He said come on you dirty heck into that district court

Into the courtroom my trial began
Where I was handled by twelve honest men
Just before the jury started out
I saw the little judge commence to look about

In about five minutes in walked the man
Holding the verdict in his right hand
The verdict read murder in the first degree
I hollered Lawdy Lawdy, have a mercy on me

The judge he smiled as he picked up his pen
99 years in the Folsom pen
99 years underneath that ground
I can't forget the day I shot that bad bitch down

Come on you've gotta listen unto me
Lay off that whiskey and let that cocaine be

They call me The Wild Rose
But my name was Elisa Day
Why they call me it I do not know
For my name was Elisa Day

From the first day I saw her I knew she was the one
She stared in my eyes and smiled
For her lips were the colour of the roses
That grew down the river, all bloody and wild

When he knocked on my door and entered the room
My trembling subsided in his sure embrace
He would be my first man, and with a careful hand
He wiped at the tears that ran down my face
[Chorus]
On the second day I brought her a flower
She was more beautiful than any woman I'd seen
I said, 'Do you know where the wild roses grow
So sweet and scarlet and free'

On the second day he came with a single red rose
Said: 'Will you give me your loss and your sorrow'
I nodded my head, as I lay on the bed
He said, 'If I show you the roses, will you follow'
[Chorus]
On the third day he took me to the river
He showed me the roses and we kissed
And the last thing I heard was a muttered word
As he knelt (stood smiling) above me with a rock in his fist

On the last day I took her where the wild roses grow
And she lay on the bank, the wind light as a thief
And I kissed her goodbye, said, 'All beauty must die'
And lent down and planted a rose between her teeth
[Chorus]

would you lay with me in a field of stone
if my needs were strong, would you lay with me?

should my lips grow dry would you wet them, dear
in the midnight hour, if my lips were dry?

would you go away to another land
walk a thousand miles through the burning sand
wipe the blood away from my dying hand
if I give myself to you

will you bathe with me in the stream of life
when the moon is full, will you bathe with me?

will you still love me when I'm down and out
in my time of trial will you stand by me?

would you go away to another land
walk a thousand miles through the burning sand
wipe the blood away from my dying hand
if I give myself to you

Say, say, say what you want but don't play games with my affection
Take, take, take what you need but don't leave me with no direction
All alone I sit home by the phone waiting for you baby (baby)
Through the years how can you stand to hear my pleading for you dear?
You know I'm cryin', ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Yeah

Now go, go, go where you want but don't leave me here forever
You, you, you stay away so long, girl, I see you never
What can I do, girl, to get through to you
'Cause I love you baby (baby)
Standing here baptised in all my tears, baby through the years
You know I'm cryin', ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

You never ever worry and you never shed a tear
You're sayin' that my love ain't real
Just look at my face, these tears ain't dryin'

You, you, you can never say that I'm not the one who really loves you
I pray, pray, pray every day that you'll see things, girl, like I do
What can I do, girl, to get through to you
'Cause I love you (love you) baby (baby)
Standing here baptised in all my tears, baby through the years
You know I'm cryin', ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Say, say, say
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say
Ooh, ooh, ooh, say, say, say

Wouldn’t it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn’t have to wait so long
And wouldn’t it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

You know it’s gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through

Happy times together we’ve been spending
I wish that every kiss was neverending
Wouldn’t it be nice

Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true
Baby then there wouldn’t be a single thing we couldn’t do
We could be married
And then we’d be happy

Wouldn’t it be nice

You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Wouldn’t it be nice

I came into this world as a reject
Look into these eyes
Then you'll see the size of these flames
Dwellin on the past
Its burnin' up my brain
Everyone that burns has to learn from the pain
Hey I think about the day
My girlie ran away with my pay
When fellas come to play
No she stuck with my homeez that she fucked
And I'm just a sucker with a lump in my throat
Hey, like a chump
Should I be feelin' bad? No
Should I be feelin good? No
Its kinda sad I'm the laughin' stock of the neighborhood
You would think that I'd be movin' on
But I'm a sucker like I said
Fucked up in the head, not!!
Maybe she just made a mistake
I should give her a break
My heart will ache either way
Hey, what the hell
Watcha want me to say
I wont lie that I cant deny

[Chorus]

I did it all for the nookie
C'mon
The nookie
C'mon
So you can take that cookie
And stick it up your, yeah!!
Stick it up your, yeah!!
Stick it up your, yeah!!
Why did it take so long?
Why did I wait so long, huh
To figure it out? but I did it
And I'm the only one underneath the sun who didn't get it
I cant believe that I can be deceived
By my so called girl, but in reality
Had hidden agenda
She put my tender heart in a blender
And still I surrendered
Hey, like a chump

[chorus]

I'm only human
Its so easy for your friends to give you their advice
They tell you to let it go
But its easier said then done
I appreciate it
I do, but just leave me alone
Leave me alone
Just leave me alone!!
Just leave me alone!
Aint nothin' gonna change
If you can go away
Im just gonna stay here and always be the same
Aint nothin' gonna change
If you can go away
Im just gonna stay here and always be the same
Aint nothin' gonna change
If you can go away
Im just gonna stay here and always be the same

[Chorus]

Turn the lights down
Way down low
Turn up the music
Hi as fi can go
All the gang´s here
Everyone you know
It´s a crazy scene
Hey there just look over your shoulder
Get the picture?
No no no no .......(yes)
Walk a tightrope
Your life-sign-line
Such a bright hope
Right place, right time
What´s your number?
Never you mind
Take a powder
But hang on a minute what´s coming round the corner?
Have you a future?
No no no no .......(yes)
Well i´ve been up all night again
Party-time wasting is too much fun
Then I step back thinking
Of life´s inner meaning
And my latest fling
It´s the same old story
All love and glory
It´s a pantomime
If you’re looking for love
In a looking glass world
It’s pretty hard to find
Oh mother of pearl
I wouldn’t trade you
For another girl
Divine intervention
Always my intention
So I take my time
I´ve been looking for something
I’ve always wanted
But was never mine
But now I’ve seen that something
Just out of reach - glowing -
Very holy grail
Oh mother of pearl
Lustrous lady
Of a sacred world
Thus: even zarathustra
Another-time-loser
Could believe in you
With every goddess a let down
Every idol a bring down
It gets you down
But the search for perfection
Your own predilection
Goes on and on and on and on
Canadian club love
A place in the country
Everyone’s ideal
But you are my favorita
And a place in your heart dear
Makes me feel more real
Oh mother of pearl
I wouldn’t change you
For the whole world
You’re highbrow, holy
With lots of soul
Melancholy shimmering
Serpentine sleekness
Was always my weakness
Like a simple tune
But no dilettante
Filigree fancy
Beats the plastic you
Career girl cover
Exposed and another
Slips right into view
Oh looking for love
In a looking-glass world
Is pretty hard for you
Few throwaway kisses
The boomerang misses
Spin round and round
Fall on featherbed quilted
Faced with silk
Softly stuffed eider down
Take refuge in pleasure
Just give me your future
We’ll forget your past
Oh mother of pearl
Submarine lover
In a shrinking world
Oh lonely dreamer
Your choker provokes
A picture cameo
Oh mother of pearl
So so semi-precious
In your detached world
Oh mother of pearl
I wouldn´t trade you
For another girl

Through the back window of a '59 wagon
I watched my best friend Jamie slippin' further away
I kept on waving 'till I couldn't see her
And through my tears, I asked again why we couldn't stay
Mama whispered softly, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

I sat on our bed, he packed his suitcase
I held a picture of our wedding day
His hands were trembling, we both were crying
He kissed me gently and then he quickly walked away
I called up Mama, she said, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

Sitting with Mama alone in her bedroom
She opened her eyes, and then squeezed my hand
She said, I have to go now, my time here is over
And with her final word, she tried to help me understand
Mama whispered softly, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

How can I help you to say goodbye?

Now and then it keeps you running
It never seems to die
The trail's spent with fear
Not enough living on the outside
Never seem to get far enough
Staying in between the lines
Hold on to what you can
Waiting for the end
Not knowing when
May the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away
Both feet on the floor, two hands on the wheel,
May the wind take your troubles away
Trying to make it far enough, to the next time zone
Few and far between past the midnight hour
Never feel alone, you're really not alone...
Switching it over to AM
Searching for a truer sound
Can't recall the call letters
Steel guitar and settle down
Catching an all-night station somewhere in Louisiana
It sounds like 1963, but for now it sounds like heaven
May the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away
Both feet on the floor, two hands on the wheel,
May the wind take your troubles away.

Wonder where they could be?
Damn! I lost my keys!
Wonder if I can see?
Where the hell's my keys?!
Wonder if it's just me?
Can you see my keys?

In the drawers, in my shoes, where could they be?
In the couch, on the shelf? Where are? Where are?

My keys, I cannot find,
I can't get inside,
My house, which is a pain,
and it's gonna rain!
I shouldn't go mad now,
I shouldn't have a cow,

They can't be far, can't be far, where are my keys?
On the stairs or over there? Where are? Where are?
Where are my keys?

All my keys I cannot find (x4)

Not as apropros, but going with the "locked out" theme:

Just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in, pretty soon I'm singin',

CHORUS:
Doo, doo, doo, Lookin' out my back door.

There's a giant doing cartwheels, a statue wearin' high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola list'ning to Buck Owens.

CHORUS

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician.

CHORUS

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

CHORUS

Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

CHORUS

"Underneath Your Clothes"

You're a song
Written by the hands of God
Don't get me wrong cause
This might sound to you a bit odd
But you own the place
Where all my thoughts go hiding
And right under your clothes
Is where I find them

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

Because of you
I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of you
I'm running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are gone
When the party's over
We will still belong to each other

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin' talkin' walkin' breathing
You know it's true
Oh baby it's so funny
You almost don't believe it
As every voice is hanging from the silence
Lamps are hanging from the ceiling
Like a lady tied to her manners
I'm tied up to this feeling

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey
