Ares(Jason) and Treasure Chest(Sue) don't have access to this thread. Please donate what you can for flowers for the passing of Sue's father Bill. Me2 has offered her PayPal account for a place to send the money to. Please send payments to sarahandbeans@aol.com

Thank you to everyone who can help out in this emotional time for their family.

mrmnmikey

I sent a donation on paypal. Let me know if you don't get it Jana.

Nix my first post above as Jana mentioned that she heard Sue think cremain necklaces are creepy. But I would like to suggest plants vs flowers anyway.

Me2 thought that a donation to an animal shelter might be appropriate as well. Ideas.

BTW Thanks Mike

I like the idea of donating to the Humane Society in his name. I think that would be fitting in this instance.

I'll find my way to paypal and get a donation in.

I can hardly believe it. I remembered my paypal password.

This from one of the many articles regarding his passing....

Bill and his wife Nancy are passionate about animal rights issues. They worked extensively with the Minnesota Humane Society, the Fund for Animals and other organizations.

thanks for setting this thread up cm.

this is the first time Ive been able to be near a computer in a few days. I'll check my paypal tomorrow mikey. ty.

I saw Sue last night and she was a complete mess. She is in shock even though she knew it was coming. I watched Jason be right there to hold her and comfort and support her when she most needed him. He has grown since we knew his shy computer self so many years ago. She is lucky to have him and all of the Cooler right now. Sue has mentioned to me how heartfelt she feels twords the amazing support of people in the Cooler who have called or egramed or emailed or even went to visit her.

I like this group effort instead of doing things individually, I really admire the Cooler Crew and I'm very grateful and proud to call you all my friends. I've seen alot of kinds words and thoughtful actions when they have been most needed over the years and literally it brings tears to my eyes (like right now).

I think the Humane Society, or anything regaurding animals, is a good idea for them. Sue gets her love for saving animals from her dad BIG TIME!!!! The stories I could tell!

I'm not good with buying flowers to have them sent but I'll do my best. I've asked for the Linders discount (I think it's 25% off) and having an arrangement made....don't these run about $50-75? I don't do this often.... any ideas on how much should be spend on them and then the rest of the $$ can go twords the Humane Society?? what do you think? I'll do whatever you guys think. If there is only enough $$ for flowers than so be it. I will be donating $$ as well.

If anyone else can figure out the Humane Society thing? I'd appreciate it. Some of you know that I begin a full time job in the morning and at the moment I also plan to stay with the historical society so my time is more limited than ever. I don't know how long it takes or how to make the donation in Bill's name or get a certificate to give Sue and Jase. thanks.

I believe the donation can be made directly and then ask them about a certificate or a statement from the organization.

Our contribution should be in your paypal email as well, me2.

I was there that night with me2 (comforting a friend: priceless; car involved in a hit and run: $TBD) and the thing that struck me was how much Sue (who wasn't in good shape) looked like her dad.

I'll contribute to the pot today.

I'll take care of the Humane Society if you take care of the flowers since you can get the discount through Mark. I'd ask him for the discount but I don't think I'm cute enough to qualify.

Good luck on your new job today J!

I don't watch the news much but happened to be at a hotel with my mom when I woke up today and she had the news on and I heard the news. My deepest sympathy's go out to Sue and her Family as I know how hard this time is for them, as I went through it a year ago this month myself. I'll be donating money for what ever you guys decide to do with it.

I nominated Me2 as my hero in the hero thread because of this post.
me2, "Flowers For Sue and Family" #7, 2 Mar 2008 8:50 pm

She always steps up to help no matter how full her plate already is. Jana is a true friend! We had to edit my post in the hero thread because Sue and Jason dont have access here and we didn't want to blow our cover. (thanks for catching that CM)

Brad,

Thank you for considering the Minnesota Humane Society for a donation in Bill's memory. Bill was a kind and gentle man who was a good friend to the animals. We are very saddened by his passing.

The Minnesota Humane Society accepts online donations through our website or donations can be mailed to our office at 475 North Cleveland Avenue, Suite 100B, St. Paul, MN 55104. Generally when we receive a memorial donation we send an acknowledgement to the honored person's family. If we receive the donation prior to the funeral, an acknowledgement letter could be faxed to you. Please let me know how you would like to handle this.

For those who would like to give, please give soon. Thank you to those of you who have already donated what you can. We already have enough for some nice flowers and have a small start on a donation.

Any thoughts on if we need to present Sue with an acknowledgment letter at the funeral or just let the Humane Society mail them one?

Personally, I think letting the Humane Society send the letter is the better choice. There will be flowers there from the CC already, and it gives people more time to donate for the memorial. Things are so hectic at a funeral anyway, it might be nice to get that letter later and not while you're still wondering what the heck just happened.

I agree.

When my dad died, we had asked for donations in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society. It was really nice getting that letter later.

just checked - yes- LA Mommy - got it. thank you.

and OT TOO!

I have to say that I found out that Icesis went out to Sues and spent all day yesterday helping her with the picture boards.

I'm sorry If I already posted that, it was on my mind that she had given her time while trying to finish college papers. I never want to forget or miss anyones efforts. Of all people, my mom is gonna pick up the flowers from Linders and bring them to Excelsior (she is attending the wake too). There are angels among us all the time. I'm not really the hero here...its a team effort.

I'll be there around 6.

I sent money via PayPal also. I didn't know I had to tell you to look for it, so sorry if it wasn't accounted for.

I went tonight I won't be able to make it to the service tomorrow. Jana, RB, Mystical Music, Icesis, 3M were all there. Sue seemed to be holding her own but I think it's adrenaline more than anything keeping her going.

It was very nice. Flowers and pictures and videos everywhere. Me2, Icesis, and their mom and me went out to eat with Sue, Jason and the kids afterwards.

I saw LA Mommy, Red bear and his better 1/2, Mystical and hubby (with cute baby) there.

I heard that Terry V was there ,Camo Terry as well as Mr and Mrs Zephy.

I'm probly missing someone here. Sorry if I missed anyone.

What a beautiful service! I'm watching the WCCO stream, but it cut out after Jim Marshall spoke and now we're watching Esme Murphy and Darcy Pohland behind the scenes. They are practicing for the news broadcast I guess.

Back to the stream with Don Stolz.

If there is anyone who still wants to add to the Humane Society Fund than please let me know soon. I want to give everything left over to cm so he can make the donation. Don't quote me on it but I think we're up to $100 so far for the HS (besides me and 1 other that I know of still donating) -- thanks.

There was fresh cut white hydrangea in there too that I loved.

I was tempted to steal the stems because it was so pretty.

what I saw was very good....cept your new G.F. (Amelia Santaniello) eye's are goofy...looked like she was looking at a weird spot that made her eyes seem stange...

I think it was because the teleprompter was at a weird angle compared to the one they use during the news. Frank's eyes were all over the place too.

It was a very nice tribute from what I watched as well. I have it on my DVR and will watch the entire thing tonight.
