Went down to CC MILITARY SURPLUS to purchase the T-shirt and the assistant manager Don Diego donated it for us :)

Cooler on the used books. I've some around here I've read that I can donate.

Didn't go to my fiend's house tonite.  But if PayMe crapped out on Wally World, I don't know what chance my fiend will have. At best, I could get her discount. But, I can't afford cameras.  But, I'll talk to her.  See what she suggests. Maybe work sumpin' out.

But iffin' enkneebuddy's able to cabbage on to some cameras - DO SO. Like it you know you can, because I don't know what my outcome's gonna be.

Hay!  Fishing stuff was wanted/mentioned...  She's the manager o'the sporting goods dept. I'll see what I can do.

Thing is, this may all take time.  On-The said something about 10 days.  Can we just keep sending and sending and sending? Like does EVERTHANG have to go at once?

And here's a thought I noodled on the way home from work...  They got microwaves there?

If so, what about popcorn and Raman 'noodle-the-clues'?  I think I know where I can get jumbo packages of Raman noodletheclues for like a buck each. At worst, I could spring for quite a few $.25 packages at the grocery store.  Maybee some popcorn, too.

Let me know.

Gordy just told me they have a bunch of microwave popcorn at work so he will grab a couple cases for us, he works for a trucking company so if someone refuses a load it goes back to the shop :)

We can continue to send packages.  If we can send a large "first shipment" then whatever trickles in afterward we can continue to send it to them.

where did  I read that smaller packages are better? *I know I know*

but if they are smaller they get put on trucks with room...vs. a large one gets put to the side...

JOE!

I agree, Scribe.

Can they roast beans over there? I could get some o'that GREAT Ethopian beans...

smaller ones tend to get delivered a little bit faster.  But it wont matter too much.  Probably take a couple weeks for them to arrive.  BUT WHEN THEY DO....he is going to be the most popular guy there.

What? Smaller instant or just regular grind? This is beyond my scope of understanding...which is why the kicked me out of my physical...

Okay. Bottom line me. Regular grind, whole bean or nasty instant stuff?

Thu, 01/13/2005 - 6:02 PM Permalink

Scribe,

It doesn't have to be instant. Fortunatly they are in a base of sorts and if I know those commo guys (and I do)... They have more coffee pots then guns around.

At least make it so they don't have to grind it....That might be pushing it...

Got it. Regular grind and lots of it!

Crew.. I will not be online to much tonight from work. This cold is causing outages all over the metro (St Paul mostly). If I don't get to something tonight I will address it in the morning. I still have a few hours. Just letting you know the deal.

OTS - I'm in St. Paul and if I lose my connection, I'll not be happy.  Do what you can to keep me online, okay?!?  I hate when I can't get online.

I get in about 11PM. I work better when it hits the fan anyways.

And not to be cocky..... but with weather like this... I'm the one you want working :). We will do our best to make the fixes as painless and quick as possible.

You can be cocky all you want...just keep me up and running.  LOL!

Thu, 01/13/2005 - 6:29 PM Permalink

I'm witcha Kitch, but it may be easier if I send ground. I hear from a friend of mine over there (she's in Bagdad) that they lose power often and need to conserve generators.

Thu, 01/13/2005 - 6:31 PM Permalink
green

Kitch, you're gonna get them a grinder? Fur SHURE?

If so, I'll get some o'the Ethiopian green beens!

Let me know.

And Scribe can get Sumatra beens, if she chooses.

FRESH ground's WAY BETTER than enkneethang!

Thu, 01/13/2005 - 6:31 PM Permalink

Kitch, you and I could still do the beens/grinder for when they *do* have electricty!  :D Like it could be a special treat when the power's going!

tim_the_hunter

The list that came from zeph said he knew how to crush a bean I believe. And considering it may be a few weeks until the stuff gets there you really really want to send whole bean if you can (obviously).

An echo to what I thought I'd read.  Think I'll get some o'those Ethiopian green beans.  OT, you know how good they are.

I'll put a little note in with them about how to roast.

Gods. Those poor people over there need fresh roasted, fresh ground worse than I do.  And I need it BAD.

Maybe, to save time, you could have the RHB here???? If you all flew here, and brought the mail with you, think of how much time we could save???

--- I will need a sizing chart for everybody for Body Armor, Kevlars (the new kind, much better), and the new MOPP suits.

I will also need a break down of the male to female ratio for billeting purposes. I can go to the mayors cell and see if I can get you a hook-up on food from the DFac.
<---- Thats a chow hall

What else.... oh, you might want to bring your own entertainment... there is next to nothing to do here.
