That's the Legend and 60C. So, I think the Legend will suit me. I can still use the Garmin maps, but will have to suffer with BLUE! (puke!) Maybe I can order a green case-thighy from Garmin??? :D
Going to stick my nose in here, but what's the difference between the green one and the blue one?  I think you'll kick yourself for not buying the green one. But I'm kind of impulsive that way. I don't even need one and I want one now. lol
Thank you! Actually the difference between the Legend and the GPSMAP 60 is closer to $100 since I got the Legend discounted. And, the Legend's more fitting... Since I'm a Legend in my own mind! :D
Really, though, I'm gonna see if I can order the cover for the Venture, which is the model just below the Legend. The Venture's cover is translucent green... (The Legend's cover is translucent blue; the GPSMAP 60 is dark - like Army - green.)
The Venture didn't have all the stuff I wanted. Think it only had 1 meg memory. And the blurb at geocaching.com said to get at least 8 meg, or to make sure you can put memory cards in. And the Venture didn't have the fishing/hunting stuff I wanted.
So, went with the Legend and will get the GPSMAP 60 later, or go with a 60C or something or something.
Okay. Is there anyway to put *into* my GPSr the coordinates that are on the cache Web page and get my GPSr to show where I'm trying to get to? Yes?
No? So, you get as close as you can to where the cache is, or you *think* ittiz, and then you start walking around, trying to get the numbers on your GPSr to match the numbers on the Web site?
McLucky, you got "track up" or "north up" going on yours? I'm thinking "track" since I'll always be going the way I look - the same was as the GPSr's pointed - and then I don't have to worry where north is, the GPSr will tell me.
Enter the coodinates by hitting mark...then changing the coodinates to the ones you want and name if you want
then go to the main menu and select find..then wayponits...then by name and select the waypoint you want to find and choose gotoat the bottom of the waypoint page.Â
McLucky, thanks. Really. You didn't have to do that... I'm just anxious to get going. I'm sorry if you took that I was "wwwwwaaaaing" at you and me needing a lesson, which you're right about. I was "wwwwwaaaaing" because I didn't like hearing the truth!
I've copied what you said. Also... I found my little arrow and the "new location" whatever... And am like trying to get close to a cache, know what I mean?
I know how you feel green I remember the excitement of the first time!  (that would be caching...get your mind out of the gutter)
i am willing to help as much as i can in here
it's just hard for my lilttle brain to take what i can do and put in into words....so much easier to show....must make me a visual learner or something...
Unless you're sure you will want extras, you can get by for under $100
I have found over 400 caches, and hidden over 600 caches, using low-end units.

I WANT one.
I NEED one.
I'll go with the Legend, then. It's got celestial tables and hunting/fishing times, plus the eight megabytes memory.
I can't find anything on the GPSMAP 60, but here's this:

Nice link, Ian. Can you like put that in the header thighy? Would be nice to be able to get to all that info whenever you want.
And the geocaching place, and the MN one, too. Say, to join the MN one, that's free, izz it not?
Going to stick my nose in here, but what's the difference between the green one and the blue one?  I think you'll kick yourself for not buying the green one. But I'm kind of impulsive that way. I don't even need one and I want one now. lol
Bucks. And not the kind you find in the woods. Difference of like $74 bucks. And...
Wait. Yes, OT, you are 100% correct. I will kick myself. Because I'm just not comfortable unless ittiz green. But, I'm prepared to kick...
I JUST GOT MY GPSr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the Legend, discounted, and will pick it up tomorrow!!!!
I'VE GOT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ittiz the blue one... But after awhile, when I win the lottery, I'll get the green one (the GPSMAP 60).Â
At least I'm ON MY WAY!!!!
Good for you!

Â
Backwardz JOE!!!Â
nice buy...it should hold its value..
Green is caching now? I better watch out.... ;)
you guys have me wanting one now. It would be nice for my ATV. Keep me from gettin lost in the woods.
You know you want to. Everybody's doing it. Give in to peer pressure.
Â
Nah, you don't need one. Be different, be your own person. A REAL man can find a cache without GPS.
:)
I don't want to find a cache. I want directions out of the woods on my ATV. Then again, real men don't need no stinkin directions.
Kogren, why you scared? I don't bite too hard...
Â
really though... it is just a nibble... ;)
What's a "pog" tube?
JOE! JOE!! JOE!!!
Is like a 2x4 plastic round tube...
Thanks, Kitch.

WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAA! I wanna find a cache. And I want to find it NOW!
I don't wanna wait for a hands-on lesson. :(
Maybe I'll just go wander around anywho. Patience is not in my vocabulary...
