I remember hearing that Earth Day was every day.

That wore off when I started to say we should get off of school for the holiday.

Well shut my mouth.

For some dumb reason, I was thinking this was like a 'schoolnite' (non-Fri/Sat nite).

April 22's pretty far in advance for me.  I'll keep in mind what's going on - would be fun - but I can't say right now if I can make it for sure.

Do they make trash bags big enuff to stuff grown men in?

Have you talked with parks and rec?  Maybe they would supply trash bags or provide for removal of the stuff we trash out.  I could give a call if you want.

It's Crosby, why bother. Hey Ian, did you make any progress on that night cache?

I just noticed too, this event is on a friday... starting at noon? Guess either I'll be a little late, or I'll haveta take some time off. Ton of events coming up this month!

Yeah, it's the actualdate for Earth Day. Most cities/parks are using the prior saturday, I guess for higher attendance. Since this event goes from 12:00-5:00 and 5:00-10:00 I think a lotta people can find time to get there.

The best action will be later anyway, right Tami ? Heh

Well it's an easy quick drive from work for myself anyways, I might just try and slip out of work early, hit the event a little late, think I'll go along and say the noon-4ish area.

SITE CAPTAINS NEEDED!

Looking to go that extra mile? Every year, Site Captains play a major role in the success of the Clean-Up by leading clean-up efforts at a particular site. Site Captains duties include:

Providing information on clean-up and recycling procedures to volunteers
Welcoming, signing in and helping volunteers get started cleaning
Inviting volunteers to the Thank You Celebration

lol I just saw Crosby on the list. Think we should leave a sign in the area that's cleaned up by the geocachers attending the event on Friday? Something like "Don't worry about this spot, we already cleaned it up"

Wed, 03/30/2005 - 11:22 PM Permalink
mrmnmikey

The park cleanup is the 16th and our is the 22nd? They need to leave signs for us then, right?
Or is there some other event that I'm missing here?

Notice that Sackett Park is on the list?

...
Rice Park
109 West 4th Street
Ryan Park 618 North Avon Street

Sackett Park
1656 Ames

Stinson Park
996 Stinson Street ...

ha...

O.K. today I swore I heard on t.v. news as I was walking out the door that one of the Parks and Rec's is going to go thru a name change today....

So I called the office to find out which park....girl didn't know....
asked here about Sackett...said she don't have it on her park list....geez...she had no idea...what's going on?? don't they know??

so much for making phone calls....grrr...

O.K. here's the deal...

I was "WRONG" but found out something neat...

2nd hand story
Ben Doran was beaten by neighborhood punks at the Rice & Lawson Rec. Center...due to increase in the awareness at Rice&Rose Law Enforcement Center...the Law enforcement center going to take on the name of "ben doran"...

the guy at the rice & lawson rec. also told me that Sackett is a gooofy...he said that the "boys&girls club" has worked out a longterm lease with park and rec....he said that he is not sure if the land is still under parks and rec. or boys/girls club....

he told me to call 651-266-6400 and talk to Mike Hamm for info on that.......

someday all this crap is going to "click" in my head....

well towlebooth's wife jillibean and miles58, that was it though. miles ran off before I could get him in a shot.

lol a star in me2's blackbook? never heard of that before, but hey, that's cool.

I pretty much was soaked to the bone when I got home, I think about the only thing still dry were my feet, got a pair of rainboots, they seemed to work wonders. I was able to cross phalen creek at a few spots.

Like I said in my log though, I wonder how st. paul's park cleanup went in comparison?

hmmm....gotta look for some waterproof shoes now...good idea.....I just have my winterboots....

got mine at walmart of all places, they're around 12-15 bucks, only thing I'd do is buy a set of insoles for some padding. After walking around on em too long my feet got a little sore. But you can basically trash those boots, walk through the worse muck, and just hose em off afterwards.

lol just read SB's post on mngca. After picking up trash for a few hours in the rain, I didn't feel like going out to cache afterwards, even when it got nice out.

Nice job, Joel.

Are Chad and Jill married?

The night cache will notbe setup. Finishing Psychedelia Vol. 1 took too much time, and I want to do it right. There are residents under the bridge too.
