tell that to bodine concerning medical marijuana and see how far you get.
Moderates don't make history. And the BushCo Team has waiting for a crack at it. Reshaping the world has been on their mind since they laid out plans for the New American Century.
They might not get far. The still don't have enough votes to override a filibuster in the Senate.
which is why you don't want to nominate judges with a partisan agenda.
judges are never nonpartisan. in fact, they are all would- be politicians with limited political skills. judges should interpret the constitution in context of the reasons it was adopted. any other manner of interpretation will remove political issues from the political process and out of the hands of the people and it would be done without the people's consent.
I also see your party embracing the ultra-right wing religious conservatives. I don't see you calling to kick them out of your party.
then you need to get your eyes checked. what you call anybody that has a good word to say about Christianity an ultra right wing religious conservative.Â

They might not get far. The still don't have enough votes to override a filibuster in the Senate. They may want to rethink that unless they like losing seats in the senate. 2006 would even be a bigger year than 2002 or 2004. hell maybe bigger than 1994.
And Democrats love to talk. to bad they don't love to think.
WASHINGTON -- Only four of the 26 Democratic challengers for Congress and governorships endorsed and bankrolled by the left-wing MoveOn PAC were elected Tuesday, but some suffered from that organization's support.
The job of the Supreme Court is to interpret laws in light of the Constutution, therefore, whether the decision is a "liberal" or a "conservative" one, they are making law or "legislating," every time they make a decision.
If you think that the Constitution is not a "living document," then the President is not Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force.
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States

Our children and grandchildren will be begging Exxon to drill their back yards.
They haven't exhausted possibilities in the Gulf of Mexico, yet. There's potential off the coast of Florida. If it wasn't for nepotism (the president and the governor of Florida) they could do it.
They say that only 8 percent ANWR will be use? -- I don't believe them.

I would agree with you that it is a states issue. To me the federal government tramples on the states rights.
Anyone that hold the idea that the Constitution is a "living" document indicates that they think courts are legislative bodies.
Hold your cards, hold your cards. We've got a BINGO!
The Bill of Rights are right out then?

Are what?

By amendment, voted on by the representatives of the people, not by judicial fiat.

gone... get rid of those "living" douments.
They were added to the Constitution, in effect making it a living document for the times.

I'll agree with that, but I agree with Jethro in that courts are not legislative bodies.
which is why you don't want to nominate judges with a partisan agenda.

So dramatic.
Why not stay and try and change something? I suggest starting with kicking the wackos out of your party.
you guys should be applauding Spector for standing up and saying he won't let the SC be used for a partisan agenda.
They didn't reelect Zell, that's a start.
which is why you don't want to nominate judges with a partisan agenda.
I agree.
But what you see as a partisan agenda is different than I.
Just because I personally disagree with abortion doesn't mean I as a judge would overturn it.
Nor would I overturn the death penalty, even though I disagree with that as well.
btw: I think the legal argument for both is utter bullshit.
They didn't reelect Zell, that's a start.
Was he even running?
You miss the point, and that's why you just might lose 2008 as well.
I remember warning Rick about this several years ago.
Not that he bears all the responsibility for that, but his mentality hasn't changed much since that day. It's starting to, but he's having a bad week.

We are talking about a Republican talking about a Republican agenda.
So, your point is "assimilate or die"?
fuck any semblence of "balance of power"?

I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying you can't be extremists. That will alienate even members of your own party.
I can say with 100% accuracy that the average Democrat does not hold the sentiment of those over in TAPA.
The only commonality is the dislike of Bush.

What you call "extremists" I call middle of the road.
Then you're out of touch with reality.
The Democrats could have so easily won this election.
I also see your party embracing the ultra-right wing religious conservatives. I don't see you calling to kick them out of your party.
I think you're stretching that a bit, but I know what you're saying, and I don't like when my party sways that way.
I honestly think we're pretty moderate right now.
So this is what got people talking huh? I can't see why.
[Edited by on Nov 5, 2004 at 04:55pm.]
I was listening to Neal Boortz today and he was talking about that CM. He was saying it was on CNN, is that true?
Not sure about CNN but it was on that Canadian link that Rick posted above. Posting something like that on your web site is sure to get the hits.

All I can say is: Don't put the move to a vote in Minnesota this week. People might make some rash decisions.

Where can I buy an electric car in MN?
Maybe I could drive it up to ANWR and have a look around.
[Edited by on Nov 8, 2004 at 05:42am.]
Hybrids still use gas.
I'd by an electric or a hybrid if they weren't so expensive.
My only concern at the moment is having a family of five. Do they make a minivan in electric or hybrid?
Toyota Sienna is the only hybrid minivan, and I'm not even sure if they're actually out yet.
What's cool is, they're expected to get 40 MPG.
I currently get about 23 MPG highway 17 MPG city. Even if I got 25 - 30, that would be sweet.
So what color and features do you like in your minivans JT?

So what color do you like in your minivan's JT?
I like whatever color they have. As long as the price is decent.
The one I've got now is white.
I only bought it because my Honda was stolen.
I hate it to be honest with you. I've driven small cars all my life.
With three kids and their friends, we did need it though.
