I am done with work as of 2:30 today. The main roads though are still mostly wet. Travel isn't too bad in town. I understand there have been some issues on the freeway system though.
If for everyone 1 inch of rain - you guys get 10 inches of snow (wet equivilant) then last year (only year I could pull data for me for) you guys would have gotten 38 feet of snow when I had that flood over new years.
I went to work only to turn around and come back home 2 hours later, apparently Isanti county won't plow untill the snow stops :eyeroll: a usual 1/2 hour drive took me an hour.
High schools and middle schools closing one hour early; after-school activities cancelled
District 196 high schools and middle schools will be closing one hour early today (March 1) due to weather and driving conditions. District 196 elementary schools will dismiss students at the regular time.
An early closing at the high schools and middle schools will provide additional time to complete these school bus routes before these same buses are needed to start the elementary school routes. Elementary schools are not being released early due to concern that some students would not have an adult or older sibling at home.
Figures... Our kids never get a snow day.... (which means they can't rid the excess energy before I get home :frown:
I hit some whiteout stuff up in Blaine for a period of time. Saw quite a few cars in the ditches. Most looked like they got caught in the snow and drove off the road rather then spin out.
When they called me this mornign to tell me that Amy didn't have class this afternoon I asked if they would be canceling class tomorrow as well just as a precaution they said nobody would know until tomorrow mornign....annoying...you know we are getting lots of snow plan ahead and cancel classes the last thing I want is my kids or anyones kids standing at a bus stop and getting hit by a car that spins out.
I heard on 93x radio this morning that some people built a giant penis at the U of M this morning. Kinda reminded me of the link someone posted a while back.
The kids had a tunnel but daddy buried it tonight when he plowed the cul-de-sac might go out and see about getting the tunnel open again :grin: My kids are really funny in the winter sometimes I think they go outside just so that they can come inside and have hot chocolate because immediately when we come in thats the first question can we have hot chocolate now :wink:
great fun getting to work tonight. my 7th street exit wasn't plowed so i got to go downtown mpls. aok there but when i got to work our lot hadn't been plowed. i got close to being in a spot, got out and shoveled an area, then parked.
i can count on some fun when i get off at 10:00 am.

I drove throw the thick of it and got last night off with the thert that I would have to work today and then got today off with them telling me I WILL BE WORKING TOMORROW AND I SAID NO I WONT!!!! so ya lol here I sit trying to figer out who i can go get drunk with and bitch about my problems tonight any takers as allways didnt think so :.( :frown: ok weel I will be at frens for a few tomorrow but got to go get tattooed for a bit!! so I can clear me head any one looking to get tatttooed my brother is working all this weekend!!!!ok now that everone knows i will leave you get back to your happy days and leave it to beaver!!! later all
on the 15th me, Carolyn, and a small group of our peeps will be heading to Acme comedy club in MPLS, and then bar-hopping in DT, to celebrate my b-day (the 16th)....
then the evening of the 16th, we will have a small "hotel party", at a place yet to be decided upon.... most likely it'll be in the fridley/columbia heights area...
just making a post, incase anybody doesnt have anything going on, and wants to do something on either of those nights...
