hey bfg- was just talking to a couple others about it- I don't know- I'll follow the crowd- I'm already going next Saturday. Becks is going Wednesday- so maybe Wednesday or Thursday evening and stay away from Labor Day Weekend incase any others want to come that have Labor weekend plans. Any ideas anyone?

Man, its been a job getting ready for this trip! I'll have a housesitter/dogsitter here for the first time, so there has been a lot to do to get ready - instructions, food, keys, etc. - plus am working on finishing a writing project so I can meet with my clients in Plymouth on Tuesday morning.
The trip to MN was fairly uneventful. I did see a pair of mature bald eagles soaring on the thermal air currents, which is always thrilling. Traffic was crazy all the way from Duluth.
I'm at my son and DIL's. We went to Perkins for dinner.
I did bring my Cooler Crew shirt. Sounds like a hot day tomorrow 88 degrees and t-storms in late evening.
I'll check here just before I leave for the fair in the morning to see if anyone else is planning to be out there.

actually I was in the original photo and saw a webpage that explained how to draw from a picture so I used that one to trace the picture on another "layer" of the picture and then save only the layer you want. Was pretty easy, but I don't remember how to do it now.
Went to the State Fair yesterday. Pioneer Press building is gone. Gone. Just open air under the grandstand where they used to be. INFO folks told us they don't have a site there - just paper boxes. That seems very weird to me. Weird Al was awesome - he sure puts on a good show.

I definitely want to go on Saturday night to see Liverpool Legends at the Bandshell. They're supposed to be awesome, their manager is George Harrison's sister.

if you eat before hand and sneak in something to drink than it'll only cost you $11. - thats the way we did it as teens. Than ran around and collected all the free stuff in the free KS95 bag. OR you get Nick to pay his $11 - have him go in first. Send him to the main fair store (about 2 blocks in from the entrance). He buys a Fair Book for $5. He gets his hand stamped and comes back out to you. You rip out the coupon that gets you in for $5!! Now one of two things would happen after that.... you give him the $5 for the coupon book and then it only cost you $10 to get in OR he keeps the book and you get in for $5!! either way YOU SAVE!
Sarah and I went the other day and it cost me over $100. I'm going Saturday night and only expect to spend about $30. Then we're going with the grandparents on Sunday and we're bringing $160! It can cost just the entrance fee OR it can cost a ton - just depends. I didn't see a few things the other day that I can't miss this year. Like the Michael Birawer exibit in the Fine Arts Bldg and the quilts and that crazy daredevil back on the 3rd Lair skateboarding park and more cheese curds!!
