Cheap(ER) beer

The Midway Mens Club concession, is located on the backside of VisitorÂ’s Plaza on Underwood and sells beer for A DOLLAR less than everybody else on the Fairgrounds.

ThatÂ’s right -- $4.50 for a 20 oz. suds instead of $5.50.

for the life of me, I dont know how they couldnt charge people to see them.... they could have easily been a grandstand act.

from their website(s), it looks like they're mostly a Branson, Missouri group....

still - they're worth checking out though, if they make it up here again next year

I've been cleaning up my credit, or at least trying to. Kitch: any good tips in order to do that? One that I found out, is when dealing with a collection agency, you can negotiate to have the whole issue completely removed from your credit report in exchange for a full payment.

Anybody else have anything? Kitch?

KITCH

you can negotiate to have the whole issue completely removed from your credit report in exchange for a full payment.

good luck with doing that...

I've never done it and my company will never do it......why?? they honestly feel its CAN BE IN VIOLATION OF FCRA FOR NOT REPORTING "ACCURATE INFORMATION"

In my past history the only time I ever said I would do this was on accounts that didn't show on cbr's to begin with...
Tue, 09/04/2007 - 7:54 AM Permalink
Redbear

I've got it in writing from the credit agency that they'll actually do it - I figure I can protest the listing if I show the full payment and the letter from the agency.

So how do you get around that then, if you won't do it? There's got to be some sort of secret formula...
Tue, 09/04/2007 - 8:24 AM Permalink
KITCH

you got it from the collection agancy??

hmmm...interesting...

I wonder how old it is and if they bought it or not...

sometimes they will delete it as if it is inaccurate or can no longer be verified.

there is a lot of people that just write letters every month to try to get verification hoping and praying that an account can't be verified.
Tue, 09/04/2007 - 8:49 AM Permalink
Redbear

So how does the verification process work on your end? How much do collection cos. really continue once a debt is paid? I would think that the co. would just let it go if they've been fully paid.

Letter:

COLLECTIONS

                  XXX Address

TO: TRYGVE OLSEN

RE: ACCT XXXXX $161.00

PER YOUR EMAIL WE WILL AGREE TO DELETE THIS OFF OF YOUR

CREDIT FILE UPON FULL PAYMENT TO OUR OFFICE. THIS OFFER IS

VALID UNTIL 9/7/07. PLEASE RETURN $161- TO OUR OFFICE

ADDRESS ABOVE OR YOU CAN CALL AND DO A CHECK OR CREDIT CARD

OVER THE PHONE FREE OF CHARGE IF YOU WISH.

I have a hard copy of that letter with the owner's signature too.

Redbear

Also, if debt is verified, why do people keep writing?
Tue, 09/04/2007 - 9:06 AM Permalink
Redbear

Is it illegal for creditors to take a negative, accurate listing off my credit report? They tell me that the law requires that these items remain on the credit report for at least seven years.

When you speak with credit grantors, collection agencies, or credit bureaus, their typically under-educated staff may tell you all manner of such pseudo-legal nonsense. The law demands that negative listings appear on your credit report for no longer than seven years. The credit grantor or the credit bureau can choose to delete the negative credit listing whenever they see fit.

Her: "You don't drink coffee?"

You: "No, it tends to stunt my growth, and we don't want that, do we?"

doh!

but your in a better location even if your a block or so east. I had a friend who lived on the 800 block of Hawthorne and no one had grass! the closer you get to Phalen the better.

Just like where I live now, 1 block west is wonderful, 1 block east is trashy.
