I didn't really celebrate. Actually, I was playing video games, looked at the clock and noticed it was 12:30.. Oh well, here's hoping for a good year to come for everyone.
KC it's funny you should say that last night me and Mike went out to dinner at Tobies in Hinckley and then went to see I am Legend. We got back to the cabin around 11:30 or so we were talking i heard our bird clock hoot at midnight and I actually looked at it because it sounded quieter than normal then about 20 minutes later Mike looks at me and was like oh by the way we missed new years hahaha. I didn't miss it I just forgot about it at the time :goofy:

thanks for the offer ice but I'm taken care of for now.
I'm sure you and everyone else is aware that the Republican Convention will be held here in St Paul this fall. Personally I think either one will be cool just to have something like that here.
A former rail yard, the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary is a 27-acre natural area that provides a habitat for a variety of flora and fauna indigenous to St. Paul. With towering sandstone and limestone bluffs, along with a magnificent forest landscape, the sanctuary offers an opportunity to enjoy nature in the heart of the city. In addition to the sanctuaryÂ’s natural importance, it is also historically and culturally significant. Wakan Tipi/CarverÂ’s Cave, a Dakota tribe sacred site and landmark for early European explorers, is also located within the park. Remnants of the landÂ’s rail history and a historic brewery foundation and cave add cultural value to the area. The reclamation and beautification of the sanctuary land has taken place in phases, beginning in the mid-1990s. Since then, community volunteers have removed tons of debris from the site, which had become an illegal dumping ground. In May 2005, the park opened to the public and more than 13,000 plants, trees and shrubs have been planted by community members. Though the park has come a long way since its days as a contaminated rail yard, there is still much to be done and it remains a work in progress. Nature lovers look to HGTV and its partners to aid in their efforts.
It will be pretty nuts, especially if it ends up being a brokered convention. It will draw like half a million war protesters, plus the delegates from Florida and Michigan who get turned away. The RNC has said that they won't seat Florida's or Michigan's delegates b/c their primaries are before Feb. 5th.
dose anyone drink scotch?? I hate it and got a ton of it!! my mom gave it to me!! Ok I don't hate it I just have to have the right kind and it has to be the right time!!
Preparations have been in the works for that for over a year... We knew before last Annual Training that our Division is part of the Security element for it.
Personally, I am waaay glad that I have nothing to do with it. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near downtown during the RNC.
Funny thing about the Republican National Convention being held here... Weren't we the only state to not vote Republican during the Mondale/Ferraro era in like 84 or 85?
jsut found out about this place...
hmmm..
I've never heard of it before..
anybody?
I'm going 2 go 2 do this..

And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu'd the gowans fine,
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit
Sin auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl't in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin auld lang syne.
And there's a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o' thine,
And we'll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!
And surely ye'll be your pint' stowp,
And surely I'll be mine,
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne!
Translation:
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago !
Chorus:
For old long ago, my dear
For old long ago,
We will take a cup of kindness yet
For old long ago.
We two have run about the hillsides
And pulled the daisies fine,
But we have wandered many a weary foot
For old long ago.
We two have paddled (waded) in the stream
From noon until dinner time,
But seas between us broad have roared
Since old long ago.
And there is a hand, my trusty friend,
And give us a hand of yours,
And we will take a goodwill draught (of ale)
For old long ago!
And surely you will pay for your pint,
And surely I will pay for mine!
And we will take a cup of kindness yet
For old long ago!

Solar physicists have been waiting for the appearance of a reversed-polarity
sunspot to signal the start of the next solar cycle. The wait is over. A
magnetically reversed, high-latitude sunspot emerged today. This marks the
beginning of Solar Cycle 24 and the first step toward a new solar maximum.
Intense solar activity won't begin right away. Solar cycles usually take a few
years to build from solar minimum (where we are now) to Solar Max (expected in
2011 or 2012). It's a slow journey, but we're on our way!
Visit http://spaceweather.com for pictures of the new sunspot and updates.
Maybe I'll see the northern lights again.. someday.
I was just thinking of snake this afternoon and here he is
welcome back
