I was hoping you would run down there- on the news they showed the Palace on Harriet Island and I don't recall it looking quite so beautiful with all those lights at night-maybe because I was sooo cold watching from the ground. Well, a couple weeks ago Sarah mentioned her 10 speed bike was not under the stairs... I saw my husband pulling items out of the shed and cleaning it up so I told Sarah that he probly put it in the shed.
This last weekend Sarah went to the lake and she spent her own money to buy a bike lock so she could ride her bike to the library.
Thismorning she comes into my bedroom all ready for school and asked since it was sooo early if she could ride her bike to school thismorning (she has never ridden her bike to school before).
I thought she was old enough now and that would be fine. (3.2 miles away)
NO BIKE! not in the shed! Someone had actually stole it a couple weeks ago from under the steps in our front yard! and we didn't actually realize it til today!
If you know where we live you would be suprised someone took it.
we don't live on a street that people walk through regularily.
ofcourse she cried! :( asked if she didn't have to go to school today cause it didn't feel good to have something taken from her. We just had $60 worth of work done to it 2 months ago too.
she spent her $$ 8 bucks on a cool bike lock and was so looking forward to riding to school for the first time in 7 years.

My kid has a hard time believing that the girl next door actually stole 10 of her Barbies and that her 'special' pencil was taken from a kid on the bus too. You're raised to believe that people are generally good in nature but it really hits home after something is taken from you for no reason. I remember kicking the shit out of a kid for taking a fake $10,000 bill of mine in 3rd grade. It just bugged the shit out of me that someone could feel OK by just taking something from someone for no reason.
