1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

I'm taking a short break from digging at Linwood, but I'm going back soon! Every clue fits, and people are just beginning to figure it out now!

Just got back from Merriam and Newell and Highland, I will tell you truthfully, I don't think Merriam has much to offer, still go check it out, maybe you'll see

something I didn't?

your thinking of the tome as a big book. if you look back to 1784 in our history and people back then called a tome as a devils pitchfork

line of trees could fit any park really

was at newell last night about 10 o clock, many people there but it is all dug up to hell

saw the 954 thing too, but again nothing left to dig up around there too.

didn't see what people are calling the devils den...unless its that clump of bushes on the corne of hewitt and fairview.

anyone think of Kellog park, line of trees up and down the street or something like that. The river crossing bridges wabasha robert street and high bridge fit some of

the clues as to historical referenes and names.

LIN and line... I think your stretching it a bit. These are clever clues and I don't think they would go with something that lame... There may be other clues that fit, but

most of the parks we are talking about fit most of these clues. I think there is something hidden in these clues that we have not seen yet. They are not going to give 10

grand away and make it like every other year. This one is special and I think your seeing that in these clues.

No, I'm in with all of you. The famous man connected with Merriam is Longfellow school is right near the park, it's just up the street.

Sat, 01/30/1999 - 10:53 AM Permalink

DM look at the names of the streets near the park and tie it to clue 6 and you will find the man of fame along with another landmark that will lead you to the eastside.

DM I have two ideas on 9,5,4. One, this could relate to baseball positions or two, Hwy 94 and 5th street (go back to hudson). Look in the dictionary for the words

adorn and iconoclast. There are many schools near the park I'm referring to. Where do you find a tome?
