I've been doing every menial household task that takes a few minutes to fill the time in this last hour of waiting... refill the humidifier, refill the brita filter, sort laundry, ugggghhh!! I'm normally not this domestic. I just want to see the clue! Then I can go to bed. I don't even have to noodle too much, I just need to know what it is!
Allison, you will make heads or tails of it quickest. I think the first clue has more info that other first clues. This one will also give insight, but I think it will be more confusing than previous years.
Lots of debating about whether it's in a park or just on public land and also whether it's in the snow or above the snow. Lots of noodling on gold=50th anniv and june = wedding month, also june=6th month (these thoughts led to como and highland I think?) Lots of noodling on battles and street names, etc leading toward battle creek, como and highland. And some talk of snoopies. That's the jist of it but almost everyone says we're all overanalizing which most readily admit.
leelabell, I was gonna say...I've got an extra Entry Form. If I had your name, add,ph, etc I could send it out for you tonight. You can e-mail me the info if you like...Oops, it looks like I didn't give my e-mail at registration, but did give my webpage, and my e-mail is at the bottom of my webpage.
Good evening to the Cooler Crew. While I wasn't around last year (due to location problems) for any of the excitement, rest assured that I'm as ready to go as I have for every hunt that I've participated in... and I'll be sure to make this forum a base of operations as I have every year before, as well. :) While this is only the third time I've hunted, I make note in my "third time is a charm," superstition and am ready to strike it rich. (rookie I may be, but I lack not in the hunting drive. I've verified that I've literally walked over the medallion several times in Cherokee... and the following year [the park's name escapes me]..)
Of course, the socializing of hunt's past with everyone and the reflection on nature are always things I can count on, too :)
Anyway, I'm chilling out until the next clue hits the press. I really am quite irritated that it's a requisite that I collect the newspaper to win, especially with my bias towards the growing use of electronics such as this... Anyway, I'll stick around and see if this place fails to bring about the quickest and best theorems as to where this little bugger is muggerear! I'm counting on all of your support and communication, I never hold any secrets! If anyone I know is a winner, I'm happy enough with that.
pant pant pant* </RANT>
I'll talk to y'all in a bit. My luck and wisdom will be with you all.
anyone else out there just guessing that mom p doesnt't release the clue on teh web for an hour after it releases the paper for the sole purpose of extorting, i mean selling more papers?
he did tense up for a bit when we started talking about the garlic, holy water and stakes, didn't he? :) sorry allison, but i think you're stuck with this "stigma" for the duration of this hunt. :)
Ares, Ma is in the business of making money you know! and Jake, I love your idea that it's in a treasure chest! Very retro, back to the basics it would be and very fitting. It is a treasure hunt after all, not a puck hunt.
jake- that would be cool(since the treasure chests were a little bigger than a card box). but if true, it once again points to a big park, since a treasure chest would be found quickly in a small park

Prolly leave us going "huh" or least me anyhow!

If history repeats itself, we'll be tearing it apart and reading stuff that isn't there and loving every minute of it.
Very true, Terry. I love preposterous ideas.
About an hour until the next clue is posted online?
About 400 messages since I last checked in here.
I skipped them all so I hope I didn't miss anything important?
:-)
Anyone seen Rush around?
I think you're right leela! It will be more confusing this year.
Terry, Thanks for the welcome to the board a few hundred posts ago!
THX - DD will be back with paper soon.

I don't remember if I've seen Rush here or not today.

Hey Tim!
Tim - Lots of speculation, nothing concrete and lots of Joe's
all you missed, tim, was a bunch ove over-analysis. same as usual :).
hi diddly oh neighborino
oh yeah, don't forget the joes :). speaking of which...
Oh, I missed over anaylisis(whiny voice).
not just over analysis, tim. lots of it. allison did some tests placing links on pages just to get blue text, too.
Are we going to have to wait till midnite for the clue or should i go get it and call it in?
Hey, I had some BRILLIANT theories on Rice and Phalen, hehe.
500 messages in a nutshell, I'll give it a try.

that rice theory was the epitome of brilliance, allison. seriously, tim it's *well* worth the slog to read it

don't forget, thumbs, we determined that allison was a vampire, too :).
Good evening all! Clue? CLUE? CLUE??????
matt, you can print off the clues off the web, and it's just as good for the 2500 as the paper is.
jake- you are the man! ittiz in a treasure chest! back to the first hunt(50th hunt), gold, and I'm sure there is more.
Matt, you can submit on line clues for the extra $2500 as well. Even handwritten clues count. Don't despair, technology is your friend!
Anyone have any thoughts on my treasure chest theory???
Anyone seen Rush around
I don't know about Rush, but will I do, I just got here and had to slog through about 300 posts, or are you refering to the other Rush???
Annette, that is too kind of you. Thanks, I already sent my hubby for another one. It was nice meeting you last night.
anyone else out there just guessing that mom p doesnt't release the clue on teh web for an hour after it releases the paper for the sole purpose of extorting, i mean selling more papers?
yes
Ares, you know Allison Is A VAMPIRE! AND HE'S THE CLUEWRITER!
He's just tryin to confuse us!
he did tense up for a bit when we started talking about the garlic, holy water and stakes, didn't he? :) sorry allison, but i think you're stuck with this "stigma" for the duration of this hunt. :)

Don't let him fool you or give you the "EVIL EYE".
maybe he's a pirate.....
Jake - how tiny is the treasure chest you have in mind
Ares, I agree with you about the clues not coming out until 1 hr later so they can sell more papers!
I know thumbs. and i don't blame her one bit. yet, dave will be doing a fine job of defeating that purpose for us coolerheads. thanks, dave.
the clues have to be cut from the paper to get the cash
Damn Capitalists!
