Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
can someone fill me in on the mr news theories? i was so sad about the medallion that i haven't been even lurking - don't want to go through 10000 posts (poor excuse, I know).
we spent the day getting the kids (ugh, nothing like a road trip when hungover) and then tromping around the mall. watched the last part of the superbowl but no beverages were involved!
I actually felt pretty good on Sunday. Other than this cold I have, and the fact that I only got about 5 hours sleep. Just tired and phlemgy, not really hungover.
I was thinking Saturday night, especially at Embers, how the Cooler Crew has changed. When I first got involved the main people (the ones who got together after the Cherokee Hunt) were people like Green, Terry, E&H's Mom, Radar, Santa Dave, Eagle Eye, MJ, and several others who were never quite as active. A lot of those people have moved away now or gotten busy and hardly post, or have started spending more time on other venues, especially during the year. But the spirit that brought them together hasn't gone away. It's probably grown in fact and has been instilled into a new "generation" as it were. It kind of struck me that the people who were at the events Saturday, and some of those who couldn't make it that day, were starting to form a new core of the Cooler Crew.
The "old" Cooler Crew actually did used to get together during the year. About once a month in fact. They would usually meet in a bar at first (i.e. McGovern's) and then they started meeting in out of the way restaurants where they could stay all night and play games. And there were other events like bonfires, and going up to Duluth to do the Fitger's hunt and so forth. So it seems to me if a new spirit of camraderie has emerged from this most recent hunt, there's no reason it has to just whither on the vine until next year. We could always plan more events. But if so, it may be a good idea to come up with some way of contacting people to let them know about the events (unless people think it would be sufficient to just announce them here and assume people will check in?)
I am not gonna even slog through posts for yesterday but I want Scribe & Dal to know that I learned AGAIN...what you do once every 10 years to remind yourself that you don't want to do that again ever, but somehow you do about every 10 years. :) see?
AW, we all should have exchanged emails or phone numbers at the Buttery so that we could plan other things. I think the next "event" will be your hunt, and I hope everyone participates -- if for no other reason, at least so we can see each other again and exchange information.
WoW, I am surprised to hear everyone felt NEAR what I felt. I thought I would be the only one! I was fine when Dal and I were drinking water and then the waitress bought that last round where I should have declined but I felt that she was being nice---damn 'Minnesota Nice' got me BIGTIME!
-Dal, I owe you and John bigtime! That was actually the first time I have EVER had to do that, was that bag in the car really for that? It looked kinda fancy. I do remember the whole night. My husband had just come up from the family room when you both left-he would have liked to have met you both, I told him where the car was and went straight to bed and crawled out at 4:30 yesterday afternoon just because I had to make an appearance at a friends Superbowl party.
FYI --Jake called me last night-he was out w/Snake (?) and they were headed to Buggs bar for the superbowl-he wanted me to join them but way to hungover. (admitting it)
He also said Sat night while they were at Buggs bar that the women who found the medallion in Como years back stopped in.
I got a MORON!
nice!
congrats, dal.
I believe the correct phrase is THONGDELIER by Ares.
sorry. and don't forget the spit shield covering the laptop.
you got it dal. considering we're confident we know the real identity of mr. news.
Yeah......the ski mask is off.
I didn't realize he was such a sensitive guy! I think gnus and NOOSE might have made him cry.

its just no fun being the schoolyard bully when the rest of the kids on the playground start fighting back with bigger bats.
ATTENTION EVERYONE......I've got a moron.
Mornin' new arrivals! Nice to see you all again.
you can't have a moron, thx. your wife already has one today :)
Hi THX and runningchick!
Did anyone who went out imbibe during the Superbowl? Just curious to see how everyone recovered. Myself, water.
Dal, Scribe and I went out with the family to have dinner with my folks last night. My Dad ordered a drink and Scribe and I both went "Uggghhh".
We both had diet Coke.
:-)
you can't have a moron, thx. your wife already has one today :)
You know, just cuz I'm not as smart as you doesn't mean you can call me a moron.
thx, i originally wrote that without the today in there. then put the today in because i realised it could be taken the wrong way :)
and yes i know you're just playin'
we spent the day getting the kids (ugh, nothing like a road trip when hungover) and then tromping around the mall. watched the last part of the superbowl but no beverages were involved!

I think Clueguy posted that he wished he was there he knew the waitresses and we'd have free rounds of drinks......
I was pretty worried about you Me2! I know you were in good hands though!
You know we must be gettin old if a coulpe nights out with drinks affects us this much!LOL!
yep!
Camo Terry & Jason,
If you ever read this.....
It was nice meetin' ya'll on Saturday.
Hi Me2, glad to see you're still alive :-)
I was playing D&D while watching the Superbowl. No drinking involved, though I don't drink anyway.
And we did get a free round of drinks because it seemed someone's daughter had something in common with the daughter of the waitress...
Me2, I hear ya! It's still hard for me to drink a shot of tequila. Jose Cuervo is NOT a friend of mine!
Camo Ter is the greatest!
A lot of people like tequila, but tequila holds a grudge. Once you get into a fight with it, you never ever make up.
Allison.....with my kids connections and Clueguys connections......well,I can just imagine how bad that would be!
And we did get a free round of drinks because it seemed someone's daughter had something in common with the daughter of the waitress...
Our daughter went to school with the waitresses daughter and played softball together.
You've heard of 6 degrees of seperation. Scribe has two degrees at most.

Or we could have gone to Buggs Bar and had all our drinks for $1.25. hehe

doesn't help that my daughter has a similiar personality!YIKES!
WHERE IS MR NEWSSSSSSSSS?
Oh Dal......I just sooooo want to say it......but I am censoring myself for the sake of a very bruised ego!
